| - I have been noticing our Roads Department getting more and more behind lately. It seems they are getting out later on in the day and sometimes not at all on the weekends. I know you can't plow the snow before it falls but I think their reaction times are getting worse. Usualy in the past on my way to work I noticed the roads are all plowed and the trucks are all back in the yard by 8am. Now it's 9, 10, 11 am. And while I was noticing lateness, it now seems to take a truck and a backhoe to the same job 1 truck did last year and now it seems to take longer. I'm sure I've heard the plow go by at 2 am but the trucks are getting back later.
I've also noticed the back hoe is going ahead of the truck and plowing the intersections and turn arounds and it is still taking them longer.
Are the new guys not cut out for the job? Where's Maki, Joiner and Armstrong. They were all doing a fine job. Yes the all had their down falls, I don't know who was meaner, Maki or Armstrong, but they were getting the job at hand done and done well. |

The last road super did such a great job..... He managed to get rid of a long time employee and he also managed to work himself right out of a job. Yup, fine job indeed.
If your able to see the new guy(s)working, thats a good thing, I would be worried if they followed suit and started taking naps on the back roads and alot of coffee breaks. I guess it's team work getting the job done.
I really don't think you can compare the last roads super with Maki- He left on his own. |

I think the point of the original message is the that work isnt getting done. It is tax money. You wouldn't hire somebody, let them slack all day and then pay them would you. I don't care why any of the past road bosses left. Like the person posting said " the job at hand was getting done" Poor attitudes aside, it's a matter of minimum standards and responsibilty. | |
