I have just started doing some research for my Aunty whose Father was John Dale Sturdy.
His Mother was Mary Jane Dale B 1884 in Farndale
Her Father wa John Dale b 1863 and he married Mary A Wheldon b 1865.
Mary Wheldon's Father was John Wheldon b 1845 at East moors
Living at Esk House Farndale in 1891

Hi,
I just discovered some details of my grand father in law, William Richard Wheldon. He was born in, I believe, Manchester, immigrated to Australia, married Philis, and then joined the army in about 1915, Service number: 13865 Rank: Private Unit: 15th Field Ambulance Australian Army Medical Corps. He was killed 25th Oct 1917.
