In a Book entitled "Historia Rievallensis", there is a section named, "Ancient History of Kirkby-Moorside"
There are references to two baronial residences
"one the remains of a Castle, on a hill to the east of town", "and the other on the west end of it, at the north end of a street called Castle-gate"
Do the remains of either of these edifices still exist?
Names of some of the former occupants/owners are also provided if there are those who may be interested. One of them was a James Judson.
