I'm researching my wife's Yorkshire connections.
Her great-great-grandfather, Joseph Oates married Jane Dodd on 25 November in
'The Church in the Parish of Kirkly Moorside'
She was a Spinster of 'Kirkly Moorside'.
He was a Farmer of 'Oldfield in Ripon'' Does that mean Aldfield? The birth of their son gave their address as Azerley.
As I am not too familiar with the one-time small villages of Yorkshire I wonder if the officiating Curate possibly made a mistake with the names and meant Kirby Moorside?
If somwone could through some light on this problem I would be very grateful.
