I've nevr been to Club Kali but it'd be cool if they did play English pop music. I'm not really into asian music tht much, but club Kali and saathi night is the only places where gay asians hang out. U know? So it'd be cool if there was a mix of music. Aanyhow can't wait to check it out...

I agree about the music being the same but i think we should concentrate more on asian music because thats the whole point of kali.
No point in having too much english, i agree we need some but the majority should be asian [ but not repeated]
If you like rnb and dance trance cheese etc places like heaven on saturdays and popstars on friday are ideal to go other wise where will the rest of us bhangra muffins and hindi lovers go we will have no choice at all, wheras you guys get a pick of the lot.

Don't all these e-mails asking for different types of music prove that different people go there wanting a variety of types of music? You can't please everyone because everyone wants different type of music.
Club Kali is a club for gay Asian people. Not all gay Asian people want to hear hindi or bhangra ALL night. Just because I am a gay Asian, does that mean I am not allowed to like rn'b, arabic or house music? I agree the majority of the music should be bhangra/bollywood etc but the music should reflect what we ALL like to hear. And from the messages left here it seems people go for a whole range of music.
Lets face it if a club played shit music consistently people would stop going and Kali has been going on for nearly 8 years. Loads of other clubs have come and gone in that time.
If you don't like the music at Kali, don't go and if you do just shut up and dance!!
People will always complain about the music at Kali because it doesn't reflect their personal record collection at home.
The club also goes wild to some Rn'b: Bootylicious - Destiny's Child, Dirrty - Christine Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Britney etc and some house tracks - Can't Get U Outta My Head - Kylie etc.
Over the last few times I have been the most poular song (you can tell from the screams and people dancing on stage) is Dirrty.
Just because I am Asian I find it offensive that people would assume that I like Asian music. It's like assuming that a Jamaican person has to like Reggae! I dont mind the music that they play at Kali, as someone said above, it IS a club for different types of people who enjoy different types of music but it would be nice to hear a bit more RnB and Pop. I dont want a Heaven or a GAY but it would be nice to have something that I can shake my thang to a bit more often than once an hour!! A bit more Spice Girls (you know 'Holler' is a great song!), Michael Jackson, Christina, Justin..........the majority of the people go wild when the 'western' songs come on so why not give them a bit more! See you all at next Kali (I'll be the one on stage dancing to Dirrty, hopefully!!!!)

Isn't that a bit like going to a club like Heaven and requesting a hindi song? Wouldn't happen... So you should be grateful of the western music you already get at Club Kali.
kali should be majority asian music cos we got sooo much english as it is.
I can understand why some ppl dont like asian music but you should try and listen to it cos it helps you understand your own language and culture and that is very important for every1 to know.
Just denying it cos you dont like the music wont give you something to pass on to your children
for example panjabi is a very powerful language and if you listen to the old folk songs of singers like kuldeep manak and the likes you will understand the purity of the culture and the tradition but you have to be able to understand the laguage to appreciate what is being said.
Hmmmmm..........how many people go to a club to be 'educated'? Im not an ignorant person and Im not discrediting what the person above said but when my friends and I go clubbing we go to dance and enjoy ourselves, not to 'learn' or 'educate' ourselves about Indian culture. There will never be an agreement on this topic but isnt Kali all about a mix of different cultures including western? Arent we all a mix of both? As for the person who said would we go to Heaven and ask for a Hindi song, no, we probably wouldnt but people are definately catching on! Look at Truth Hurts, Erik Sermon, Lil' Kim, 3LW, all these artists are sampling indian songs and I think it's wicked. They've even started playing Panjabi MC at Heaven and Wig Out (a few years too late but still!). I think we are all just gonna have to agree to disagree on this one and hopefully the Club DJ's come to a solution that will please most people!
