Cryptovideography.com recently purchased a new camera to add to our growing collection of video production equipment. The Camera is a Panasonic AG-DVC20 Professional Video Camcorder.

With a 10X optical zoom and 500X digital zoom, the AG-DVC20 3-CCD shoulder mount camcorder offers true colors and easy operation for high-quality, professional level video capture. The convenient, shoulder-mount design with one-touch navigation menus allows for stable shooting and easy control. Features include a Power LCD function, which allows the side screen to be seen in bright sunlight, and Zero Lux Night View, which transforms the LCD into a light source for shooting in total darkness. The newly-designed, one-touch navigation control makes VCR playback very easy and doubles as a function selector for settings such as Backlight Compensation, Soft Skin, Color Night View, Tele-macro, Fade in/out, White balance, and Mic level -- all while on the shooter's shoulder.

The AG-DVC 20 uses Mini-DV cassettes and records a high resolution digital signal which is fire-wired directly into the editor so there is no loss of quality or resolution. The camera records a beautiful picture and captures great sound.

Special Thanks to MK Davis who donated a directional microphone to Cryptovideography.com for use with this camera. The Microphone has Normal and Zoom settings that allow it to record sound at a greater distance and only in the direction the mic is pointed. This mic amplifies the sound it is pointed at and records it much louder and clearer.

Though the camera is larger than most consumer camcorders and is shoulder-mounted, it only weighs 4.5 pounds, making it eaiser to haul around in the woods. It's 3CCD chipset records much more vivid color and finer detail.

With the purchase of this camera we will be able to create even better programs and with better quality. The Color Night View does not rely on Infra Red to see in the dark.

We are very proud of this new addition and have already begun using it.

J.
