This is a major D-1 University and we need to hire the guy to get the job done at this level. Doesn't matter where he comes from as long as he is the best. So "learning the job" is BS as you say. Case in point of a great coach in his sport is Bobby Knight. He went into Texas and made a tremendous impact his first year. This is Penn State and we suck in basketball because we have a coach who can't coach yet he is the AD's buddy so he stays. What a waste! And we suck in baseball too. What another waste!
