I'm not defending Wine or the results posted so far. He needs to get his act together and turn his teams around. As to Central Connecticut State--again PSU lost to a team they should not have. However, CCSU had very nice college pitching, and they are not a horrible program as you suggest. In fact, they have made the NCAA tourney 4 of the last 6 years and have won their conference 5 of the last six years. That's right "THE NCAA TOURNEY", "THE SHOW", "THE PLACE ALL PROGRAMS WOULD LIKE TO ACHEIVE". The Northeast Conference is nothing to brag about, but they win it almost EVERY year. So, before you jump all over a program, note the history first. BTW, Kent State has been a very respectable baseball program over the years and used to be outstanding!! Along the likes of "better than OSU". John Van Benschoten, a pitcher, was a first round draft choice from Kent State not but about 4-5 years ago. Again, most people don't think much of Kent State until you look into it.
Now as to Wine and the state of PSU baseball? He needs to show some improvement in the next year or two or get the boot. Period.
