O'Neil was a walk-on? Some kid from Georgia just decides to come to Penn State of all places and as a walk-on? I would highly doubt that a kid as talented as him that was good enough to be drafted in the 8th round would go so far away from home just to walk-on and that we would have slipped through the cracks that much. I also highly doubt that your information is reliable. You sound to me like a Hindy loyalist who longs for the days of mediocrity at old Beaver Field. Oh well, at least we had local kids back in those days.
Oh, and how is it that Wine has s*&% on the local kids. They only have three different kids from State College on the team and one from Bellefonte. That's not bad in my book for local kids, especially given that high school baseball in this area isn't all that great. Would you prefer the team be made up all all Centre County kids? How do claim to know that Wine runs his program unprofessionally? Have you been a part of the program? Did he kick your mediocre-talented kid off the team when he took over for Hindy? That must be why you don't like him.
Granted, the team has to get their act together this year. It hasn't been pretty. But it is quite comical to read and listen to all the Hindy loyalists who obviously have an ax to grind come out when the team is struggling. It'll be funny when you all have to shut up when the team goes on a run later in the season just like they did last year.
