*You're joking right?? :D The game's actually been done for a while now and was supposed to be released back at the end of May, but they apparently had to squash a few bugs and then before too long NWN and WC3 were released. A lot of people at the IWD2 boards were starting to think they would wait until as long as Christmas to go gold to avoid this competition.*
This shows how little I was following IWD2. Warcraft3 has been grabbing most of my attention. I hadn’t noticed the delay.
*I'm going to miss the good old Infinity Engine, but then again, I've gotten my fair share of mileage out of it. We could always change this to an RPG forum instead of just IE games. Then we can talk about NWN, Morrowind, etc*
I would like to hear of the experiences of others in the new RPGs. I’m still debating with myself on whether to get NWN. The accusations of bad single player and extremely complex editor have put me off.
Well I for one would like to hear yer tale of grandeur
Thanks, you’ve inspired to add another part. Right now I’m on chapter 5 with 5 pages and 3k words. We’ll see how long the rest takes.
*I haven't heard anything about this game. Is it going to be 3D? (I'd rather it not be another 3D game) What is the setting?*
Here’s a quote from their website of the 3dness of the game.
Q: Is the game 2D or 3D?*
A: Lionheart is a 2D game. The Velocity engine uses specially created pre-rendered backgrounds to create a dynamic and beautiful world for the player. The characters in the game are technically 3D characters, but they are rendered into 2D images at run-time and blended into the world for a seamless presentation.
The setting is post-apocalyptic medieval Europe (Those two terms don’t go together well, but that’s what it is). The idea is during the 3rd crusade, Richard the Lion-Hearted accidentally unleashed magic into the world in what is called the disjunction. Since then, magic has altered the history of Europe and it is now the 15th century 200 years later.
*Well we still have a month until IWD2. I think I'm going to create a new IWD party in celebration*
/Me reflects that he has never soloed a Bard through IWD. On second thought thinks better of it.
Bard soloing would be hard in IWD due to that there are no kits, and it starts at level 1 where bards are wimps compared to BG2 which starts them at the level where they begin to shine. Add the huge amounts of nasty traps and bard soloing becomes a lot more risky. A Fighter/Mage/Thief on the other hand….. |
