During my recovery from major surgery, I decided to play something that does not take much brain power or manual dexterity or any sort of skill. Just click here and there and boom, it goes off with out a hitch.
So I picked up Baldur's Gate again.
Made a few poor starts with various parties, got bored. Tried a Mage Cleric solo, got butchered. Some solo chars are much easier then others. Fighter Mage Thieves for example, are fantastic if they have good stats, but, they lack healing.
Anyhow, I tried a Fighter Mage Cleric. It took a few rolls, got halfway decent stats.
Str 13. I use the spell Strength before battle
Dex 17. I wish it was more.
Constitution. 18. The hit point bonus is much needed with three classes to roll through for averages.
Int is 17. Will need that book to raise it to 18.
Wis is 16. Books will make it better.
Charisma is poor at a measely 9. But that's ok. I use the Friends spell before I do any shopping.
It was going to be a solo run, but, how could I resist the whiny purple beast? I Moan just had to tag along.
Mostly in the begining, I just cast entangle and pelted away with a sling as I Moan filled stuff full of arrows.
It was slow painful going. Some fights, I just lacked fire power (or focus due to my altered state of mind due to pain)
I Moan hit level 5 as a thief and I thought to my self, what the heck, let's dual class her. I dunno what I was thinking, but, I made her an Illusionist. Conjurer might have been a better idea, but, at the time I dunno what I was thinking.
And I am not even sure how it happened but I am sitting outside the gate to Baldur's Gate. To be honest, I don't remember playing this far. Now that I am feeling lots better, I think I will deal with my pesky half brother.
So... opinion poll... Think he will totally cream me or will I stand over his corpse and gloat for a while?
