Pure Cheese: The Ranger/Cleric.

It's really disgusting. I finished my run with one, been studying on them, and, found out they can be supremely powerful in SoA, which I plan on getting soon now that it is bargain basement price.

With out fully realizing just what sort of cheese I was getting into in BG when I created mine, not knowing how the Infinity Engine runs Ranger Clerics, I was rather surprised to find that they get BOTH Druid and Clerical spells right at level 1. I was rather startled to find I had Call Lightning. I also noticed that my call lightning did heaps more damage then it should have done at my lowish level. When I did a search on the net about Ranger Clerics, I found that certain spells that check the level of the caster add BOTH the level of the Ranger and the level of the Cleric. So a level 6 Ranger and a level 6 Cleric has a level 12 call lightning, for HUGE freaking damage.

In SoA, a Ranger Cleric can dual wield Crom and Flail of Ages, making for a supremely powerful monster in combat, plus, they can raise dead, obliterate undead, cast Ironskins that are counted from both Cleric and Ranger Levels, summon animals and undead, and, later, they gain access to high level druid skills as well like summoning elementals. Plus, past level 9 when the Ranger's own spells start kicking in, they gain access to even more spell casting, gaining a huge amount of spells. Also, spells like Flame Strike are also bugged to count both Ranger and Cleric levels for some reason, making a maxed out Ranger Cleric have a supremely powerful blast straight out of the heavens.

Playing my own Ranger Cleric really changed how I view soloing BG. He was a monster right through the end... Smashing and crushing everything in sight. With Barkskin and a few items, a few of his saving throws actually dropped into negative numbers, something I did not think you could do in BG.

I recommend this class combo to anybody who really wants to play a smash mouth game with pure munchkin cheese, as it can be quite fun
