Sarevok can be a pretty tough customer. Magic was always key in my fights with him, but maybe others have had a different experience. I'd say if you think your magic's up to par, go for it. If it goes fubar, you can adjust your strategy and try again. Or go back to other parts of the game and level up a bit more.
