Response to Okay, let's try this again... |
| > Okay, first off, a few very large misconseptions and assumtions seem to have been made here, inculuding:<
>>"Your character's an incredibly handsome, absurdly strong pretty boy"<<
>To start with I never even mentioned phsical power.
The strongest he ever gets in that respect is maybe
around Caleb (the evil priest who served the First in
the last Buffy season).<
>>"the power to destroy planets with your pinky finger"<<
>No. Not nearly, not even close. Destroying planets
without the aid of some sort of supernuclear weapon would be far beyond anything he would ever achive.<
Whatever. You mention someone having the powers of DBZ chars, I think absurdly strong.
>>"and the intent to take over the known universe."<<
>Actually, just his own planet and, well, he is evil.<
It's an exxageration. Get a clue.
>>"Aside from this, he also wishes to use the other Quasispacers to help him defeat his enemies... by watching bad fan-fiction."<<
>The other Quasispacters have nothing to do with it, that was just a bit of backdrop for his character.<
Once more focusing on YOUR char. Maybe that's not what you're actively thinking (IF you're actively thinking) but a character with those kinds of intentions would require a LOT of focus. More focus then should conceivably be put on a character in this series.
We already have a storyline going. We don't need another one based on the new guy, and we especcially don't need you using the others as a fucking backdrop.
Again, I don't care if that's what you intended.
>>"God-boys, especcially those made with the express purpose of being immune to almost anything the standard cast could do to him, are not entertaining," <<
>I agree. Which is why Damian isn't. He can regenerate is strong enough to defend himself, and powerful enough to blow stuff up when need be. Nothing more.<
You said he can blow up cities. Near catatonic state or no, that's still WAY too fucking powerful for a Quasispace character.
It's beyond me how someone who's supposedly lurked here for quite awhile (unless 'quite awhile' is three days) could have not read the FAQs and all that, but we're going for 'loveable screw-ups' here, not 'cool bad-asses'. A character can be tough, a character can be bad-ass, fine, but this series is about humor, if you can wrap your mind around that, and tough bad-asses are not, by themselves, funny. If your char's going to stick around he not only has to be toned down considerably, power-wise, but he needs to at least have a humerous personality quirk of some kind, and at most, something Horribly Wrong* with them, again, only if it's funny.
Your char has neither of these things.
Oh wait, he's EVIL and wants to Take Over The Planet.
Silly me.
*Brandt: Has multiple personality who is a psychotic sex-fiend. Lance: Goes into an mindless homocidal rage whenever a pun is used within ear-shot.
>>"StupidName"<<
>...okay, I agree with that too.<
I should hope so.
>>"we can't devote a storyarc to your little Mary-Sue"<<
>And I'm not asking you too. All I want right now is a chance. If after that you still hate the idea (and me, it would seem), I'll be out of your hair for good.<
See above. If a char wants to take over the world, we have to follow through with it at some point, and that means making you the focus of a whole giant story-arc. We simply can't do that.
Honestly, if you can fix it, welcome aboard, but as it stands, your character is a waste of text. If you can't fix it, there's no reason you couldn't stick around and shadow-MST with the rest of us. As long as you're funny and stick to the rules* anyway, which, if you don't want repeated ass-whippings, you should read up on immedietly if you haven't all ready.
*Style Guide, FAQs, and whatnot. All on the main site. | |
