Response to Right. Okay. |
| I have seen Psychosis up close and personal, and I assure you, none of what I've said here today or yesterday is anything of the sort any more than Benjy's chapter of The Sound and the Fury was due to a psychotic episode on the behalf of William Faulkner. Now you may attribute at least part of that to his penchant for liquor, but there was quite a bit of substance to it nonetheless.
The first question I answered as best I could. Some information was not available to me at the time of writing.
The second question I answered in a very general sense, my being here is for enjoyment, by my own, and hopefully for yours. The rest can be interpreted by perhaps thinking about it for a bit if you don't understand the meanings right away. If need be, I'll explain it, but like jokes, these sorts of things aren't quite as fun when they have to be explained.
The third question...well, the third question was one that virtually asked for my entire history and very being! What makes me unique indeed. What makes me unique is the sum of my experiences combined with a multitude of other factors, none of which can be adequately explained in the third person, but rather need to be shown, and in considerable detail. As for my interests, likes, dislikes, and so on, that too would require considerable time and effort to convey, so I opted for another route which would quickly show you some of my interests, likes, and dislikes, my uniqueness, and so on. I have already told you who I am, but if you absolutely MUST have more information than my IP address, my standard internet alias (which over the course of nine years has not changed) and my first name, then all you have to do is ask, though I should think that would be sufficient.
Well, I suppose perhaps what you were looking for was something more like this:
"Hi, my name is Cameron Allen Johnson, and I'm a college student. I have long hair and like to wear vests and jackets with lots of pockets. I like to read and write and occasionally draw, and I like to play computer games. To accentuate this point, I will now go into great detail about the specific games I like to play..."
"I like computers and math and science and science fiction and history and all sorts of other stuff. But" and this is important now folks, because this really helps define who I am "I'm not your typical nerd! I like all sorts of other stuff too!"
"I don't like people who don't use critical thinking and logic, I don't like hot weather, I don't like Microsoft, but I use it anyway, and now I'm going to rant about all the other things I don't like, most of which are things that just happen to be bothering me right now, rather than things I truly dislike."
"And that is who I am! Now, aren't you interested in me? Don't you feel sympathetic to my generalized personality to the point where you would be willing to interact with me?"
The above in quotes is all true. Well, mostly. But it's boring. It lacks substance. It tells you what I am and how I think of myself, but what does it show you about me? What sort of personality comes across in something like that? How is there supposed to be any sort of identification with who I am? None of that says who I am, just what I am, which is hardly answering the question asked of me in the first place. Now, if what you wanted to know was the above bits in quotation marks, then you merely had to ask. More specifically, ask the right question to get the right answer. We don't know why gravity works, but we do know how it works, and in great detail.
I like writing dialog and banter. It's something I enjoy. I happen to be in the process of writing a script right now, and I always have characters of my own creation running through my head. I happen to enjoy writing out bits of dialog with them. It's something I do, and it's something that I feel makes me unique. So I showed it, rather than told it. That does not make me psychotic in the slightest. Weird? Sure. Kooky? Absolutely. Does it help show who I am? You bet. Deserving of being institutionalized? Certainly not. I'm sorry you did not appreciate my answers, Lainer, but then you can't please everyone.
As for the bit about them being required, I'm afraid I don't savvy. While I'm perfectly willing to answer most any question you throw at me within the realm of my ability to do so, I see no reference anywhere to the questions being required. To my knowledge, you and O. Hakubi are not mods or admins (in fact, you are posting from anonymous accounts just as I am), and I see no notice saying that all new posters must be subjected to interrogation by existing members, or that all questions must be answered to specifications not given at the time of asking. Also, your initial question I answered, if in something of a roundabout fashion. Hotfoot is my usual alias online, and what I am commonly known by. You seem to be responding to my answers to O. Hakubi's questions, which should really be done by O. Hakubi if he has a problem with my answers I should think. | |
