Okay, so you've had bad experiences with newbies before. Fine. There's almost no way I can know that right off the bat. Most forums I go to have a FAQ or something for new people to read to get an initial feel of the forum. The only other alternative is attempting to read every thread and post written here, which is time-consuming and a general waste of time. I had no problem answering the questions, or even with a request to clarify myself and tone down the wackiness. What I had an issue with was in part the fact that Lainer had an issue with how I answered O. Hakubi's questions. That, to me, is like an overly PC white man getting upset when a politician uses the word "niggardly". The other part was the idea that the questions were "required", despite the fact that I had seen no such requirement stated anywhere on this forum or the general website. If you folks have requirements of your newbies, you should put them in a place where the newbies can easily find them and be prepared.
I apologize if I seemed condescending in my original posts, that was not my intent. I was merely attempting to have a bit of fun in my own way.
As for making allies, I'm sorry, but I don't look at things in that fashion. If people feel inclined to rip into me if I act perhaps a little strange, I will feel inclined to defend myself. I did not come here with any sort of hostile or malicious intent in mind, and I still hold to that. I'm not asking anyone to love me or even like me, I'm just here.
As for saving my dialog for the MiSTings, that assumes I will be joining the MiSTings. I may not be up to that task, to be honest.
Incidentally, you got the point, but only halfway.
By the by, I used to make custom quips in my sigs summarizing a key point from my post myself...though I think the board I did that on has since deleted all those posts when they culled the archives. Ah well.
You see where I'm coming from though? Perhaps some documentation for newbies should be whipped up and posted somewhere as generally accepted forum rules, to avoid this sort of confusion in the future? Someone who's new to the site won't know who's well respected or who's not, and since most people post here with anon accounts (and most newbs won't look at the IP addresses), it can seem like some sort of trick is being played on them.
