Not quite what I was suggesting

I'm not talking about a change in definition of insanity though, I was suggesting that a short list of commonly accepted forum policies be written up and placed in a file for new posters to read before they can make it to the forums themselves. It doesn't have to apply only to wackiness (that would be pretty silly), but rather have it apply to all the problems you usually come across, modifying it as new problems arise. That way, when new posters do cross the line, you can just leave a post saying "read the FAQ" with a link to the FAQ and boom, problem solved. No misunderstandings, no misrepresentation of concepts, no arguments, just BAM and it's done.
