Hi, I just stopped in to join in on all the insanity around here. I enjoy long walks on the beach and...no wait, wrong profile.

My Author Avatar: a psychotic teenager in solid black armour. Has wanted to take over the world ever since he was little, but is having a run of bad luck at the evil overlord thing. At the moment, his only minion is the Dark Assistant Teddy Bear OF DOOOM!

Not quite.

Don't worry, your grammar and personality are pretty good (so far, at least). What we're really looking for in an introduction is something that tells us about you. Likes, dislikes, who looks the best nude, stuff like that. We don't need any more avatars at the moment, so keep your avatar profile out for now, 'kay? Also, if you haven't already, for the love of Man and God, PLEASE read the style guide and other documents on the site. Thanks.

Viper speaks truth, but I give you points for not making your character a DBZ impersonator

Anyway.

Okay...

All right, then. I'm your typical nerd/otaku/whatever. I like shonen anime/manga, roleplaying, and some CCGs (though not every _*freaking*_ one that comes out nowadays.) Things that bug me? Most American TV shows (especially the ones that have approximately 6 plots), really obvious publicity stunts that the public falls for anyways, and huge 8-way crossovers (which are usually self-insertions.)

As an aside, has anyone here read Shakesphere's "A Midsummer Night's Dream"? The play part in the last scene eerily resembles a MiSTing, doesn't it?

Welcome.

Short and to the point. Good, young jedi.

And I used to teach English. And, yeah, it is kinda curious. Shakespeare was way before his time. Go back and read the play-within-a-play from Hamlet and think about it in terms of a MiSTing.

Freaky, huh?

I'm getting behind on my newbie greeting.

Hello. Nice to meet you. Like Viper said, we're more interested in you than your avatar, so you're welcome to post on that topic. Be aware, of course that we're preparing to move off these boards, so responses might be a little sketchy. Not that this board has been particularly lively lately anyway.

Hi there.

March 24 2004, 9:54 PM

Nice to meet you. Like Viper said, we don't really need
more avatars right now (actually, we didn't need more
avatars long before I was a part of 'we,' but I digress), but I do like the teddy bear of doom thing.
