State Folkstyle Tournament-Qualifier for Nationals @ Topeka

I apologize for the delay in this response, but I wanted to make sure I had the facts right before I responded. Since the State meeting in Ogallala last week, I contacted both Mark Scott at the USA National Office and James Schnell, (Past State Kids/Cadet Director) regarding clarification of the status regarding the State Folkstyle Tournament at Mitchell and whether it was as a Qualifier for the USA Folkstyle Nationals in Topeka, Ks. Both indicated that Mitchell is indeed a Qualifier. All the tournament director needs to do is submit the sanctioning paperwork prior to the event. Wrestlers from Nebraska will not be allowed to participate at the National Folkstyle Tourney unless they qualify for the event through participation in the Mitchell tournament or unless they petition in through their state director. Petitions will be reviewed on a case by case basis and will not be determined until after the State Folkstyle tournament. In response to a previous post, I would ask for your patience in that I have other responsibilities besides those associated with USA wresting. To close I must also inform you that I am a member of the Army Reserve and with the status of the world situation today, it is very possible that I may be activated or that I may be called to perform short "pop-up" missions. If you think my response is slow now, wait until that happens. In any event, I informed the board of my military status and suggested that they have an alternate prepared in the event I'm activated.
