We live in Illinois and just heard about what is happening last night. Edward Garland Sydnor is my husband's gggrandfather. His ggrandfather was William Barrett Sydnor who was born 26 March 1806 at Dungarvon. His grandfather was George Boardman Sydnor (one of 16 children born at Meadow Farm which has also been torn down!!) George Boardman Sydnor, with his 5 brothers, fought in the Civil War.
We are shocked that these graves are allowed to be disturbed in the first place and sickened at the inhuman manner in which they are treating the remains. What of the laws of Virginia and what type of court allowed this?? There are also other direct descendants of Edward Garland Sydnor. Please keep us informed.
