I was thinking about putting together a stretching program based on the Height Increase Journal, Kalsi's, and Heromar's program. Anyone want to get together and do this? This forum has a chatroom we could use, but we would need to decide on a time to all be here.
You guys, I've come to the conclusion that stretching + hypnosis + possibly kicking are the ONLY ways to grow. All of these bullshit products are scams. So I'm thinking, why don't we put our brains together and come up with a DEFINITIVE program for growth based on everything we've learned from each other.
We can actually start by using this thread. You guys can just add ideas to it. This is what I was thinking. What we need to do is put together THE BEST stretches we know. I mean, think about it, there are SO many free journals out there, but you know as well as I, not all of those stretches are really that good. So why don't we put together maybe 10-20 stretching exercises, combine that with a kicking program, cardio, nutrition, sleep, and hypnosis? How does that sound? We can agree to do this program for 3 full months, and then compare results. So this is the program I'm thinking, you guys can keep building/modifying this:
(1) 20 min. stretching every day with our favorite stretches.
(2) 5-10 min. of kicking.
(3) Swimming, basketball, bike riding, some sort of cardio. (3X a week or so)
(4) 20 min. of hypnosis.
(5) I've been taking whey protien every day as part of my weight lifting program.
(6) 8 hours of sleep a night.
Remember that we need to be reasonable about the time it takes to do all this stuff. If our program takes too long to do, we're not going to stick with it and the thing with stretching is we need to be CONSISTENT. I'm thinking that it can't be more than an hour a day, although we can do many of these thing while we're watching TV or just relaxing. Of course, the exerise should be part of everyone's routine, not just for height increase and it doesn't really have to be everyday.
How does that sound? Anyone want to add to this? Now we need to decide on what kind of stretches we should pick. More on that later...
These are posts from a guy named Brian Hoff. He's old old old school, even from before my time. You can find these posts under the "Other Info" link at Scorpion's old website: http://www.geocities.com/gottogrow/

Someone who had success!!!
by JonnyUTAH
i poached this article from Docnet by Brian Hoff:-
Ok guys, here's what I did to gain my three inches in height: First and foremost, I did a lot of hanging bar stretches. I did hanging leg raises, which are actually an abdominal exercise but they help extend your spine. I also hung motionless from the bar for about 5-10 minutes a day. I did a lot of bending exercises, kind of like in gym class, and a lot of stretching upwards against a wall. I also swim religiously, and do kicking exercises in the water with a kickboard. I sleep 8+ hours a day, eat healthy and supplement my diet with Centrum, L-arginine L-ornithine for GH enhancement and DHEA for testasterone enhancement. Mostly, I believe that I can achieve my goal, and I do a lot of focus and mental exercises, like envisioning myself at my desired height. So far, it's worked and it's really rewarding. I will never go through limb lenghtening, it's just too risky. But I believe in the future there will be a safe, effective way to increase a person's height regardless of age. Keep in mind, I'm not a doctor, so in no way take what I did as medical advice. These are just things I did, and they worked for me. They may or may not work for y'all. I can tell you that if you plan to increase your height, it will take A LOT of effort and perseverance, but in the end, it's worth it.

To Paolo and all: I bought the gravity boots from an on-line retailer: bodytrends.com. It's pretty hard to hang upside down but it really stretches you out. I have the original Gaining Height Through Exercise, written by Pierre Berthelet. I had it on my desk as I e-mailed Mark the address, but now I can't find it. He said he would post the address, if he doesn't, I will, because the book has got to turn up eventually, my apartment has just been a mess. As I told Mark, I didn't follow the course in the book exactly as Pierre wrote it, but I did everything with a lot of intensity and the book helped a lot. I have never taken Growth Booster. It's actually Twinlab's Amino Fuel with different packaging. If you want to try it go to GNC and save some money. I take a Whey protein which has pretty much all the branched-chain aminos. I don't take the protein to increase my height, it's just part of my diet. I do take L-Argingine L-Ornithine and DHEA for hormone enhancement, though. (I am NOT recommending that you do this because I am NOT a doctor). This is just what I do and it works for me. As far as swimming, I swam in high school for two years and I was a real idiot for giving it up to play baseball. Had I done it continuously, I would probably be about 6'2'' right now. Some will tell you that freestyle and breaststroke are the best for height gain. Swimming is an exercise that decompresses, tones and lenghens your whole body without impact. Just look at how magnificient Olympic swimmers look and you will see what I mean. I mostly swim freestyle, about 2500 meters a day (100 laps in a 25-meter pool). If you never swam before, you will probably never swim this much, because it is an exhausting sport and it takes a lot of conditioning. I also use a kickboard and do 20 laps of kicking, whick I KNOW helped lenghen my legs by about an inch or so. If you're between 18-24, swimming on a daily basis will help you pick up an inch or so in height. That's pretty much it for now. Sorry for the long post, but I hope it helps answer a lot of questions. Best of luck to all of us. Brian Hoff (still 5'11'' and working hard for that last inch!)

I just turned 23 in June, I'm 5'11'' tall, and I originally thought about doing this to spite my dad! He is a doctor, OB-GYN, and two years ago we were having a discussion about this. He said it's not possible to grow once your growth plates fuse. I said it is. Needless to say, I won the argument, as I grew about three inches. I now want to get to six feet to break a mental barrier, and to fulfill my dream of becoming a model (it would really be something if I get to six feet and don't make it in modeling for other reasons, wouldn't it?) Anyway, no one has to answer, but I thought it would be a nice way to get to know each other, since we're after the same goal. Brian

Fadex, to answer some of your questions: After about three months I noticed a gain (about 1/2 inch or probably a bit more) I got a big mental boost from this, and in a period of six more months or so, I gained about another inch. The last inch took about a year, and I've been stuck there for over three months. I buy Twinlab L-Arginine L-Ornithine, and Natrol DHEA. I get the L-A L-O at GNC, and the DHEA at Walgreens. The only side effects I got was an icreased pulse the first week I took it, but after that my pulse returned to normal. I give my body a break every four weeks, though. What I mean by this is I sto p taking the supplements for about three to four days every four weeks. This helps them stay effective as my body does not become accustomed to them. I take the recommended dosage, nothing less or more, and this will vary by brand. As far as my exercises, I did my hanging leg raises at the gym before swimming, since it helped stretch me out. I did the stretches before dinner, or sometime at night. Keep in mind the routine is really boring and it's very discouraging to go without results for a while. This is where your psyche comes in; you have to be very strong mentally and keep focused on your goal. I think having been an athlete helped my motivation. I don't have a lot more to go, and the closer I get, the harder I work. Brian

Guys, rather than write a lenghty message like I usually do, I'll post a link to a part of Johnny Ray's website. Here I found a couple of good ways to vary your inversion routine (if you're currently using one). I'm going to try some of them myself, like the coiling your body in a U-shape. I will reconfirm that I HATE inversion, but it seems to be beneficial, so I'm sticking to it. Anyway, here's the link:---------------------------------------- http://community-1.webtv.net/johnrs/HEIGHTINCREASE/------------------------------------------------------------- Y'all try to keep everyone posted on your progress, this way we can sort of determine what works and what doesn't. Regards to all, Brian.

Fadex, I actually use the bar that hangs up and over the doorway. I did not pay for that, a very good friend of mine is a welder and he made me one. I bought the gravity boots from an on-line retailer (bodytrends.com). I found them on the Internet, and there are many other internet retailers that sell them, this is just the one that I settled on. Aco, I am NOT a doctor, but I would think common sense would dictate that inverting for this long would be extremely dangerous. Inversion is a stressful exercise and inverting for long periods of time would cause an excessive amount of blood to flood the brain, not to mention the extreme stress placed on your ankles, knees, and so forth. Consult your doctor before you do such a thing. Brian.

To Guy and all, my legs lenghthened about an inch or so, the rest of my height increase came from lenghtening my upper torso. Something that everyone should keep in mind, your attitude towards accomplishing your goal will be the most important thing. When I set out to do this, I NEVER, even for a second, thought I could not make myself taller. I simply refused to believe that it was not possible. Your mind is the most important tool at your disposal. Growing taller is not the most amazing feat ever accomplished. Yes, it is difficult to grow after a certain age, but it is NOT impossible. Nothing is impossible once you sset your mind to it. Lance Armstrong was given less than a 10% chance to live after cancer invaded his body and spread to his brain, and not onlly is he alive, he won the Tour deFrance!! I watched part of his interview on ESPN, and his unwillingness to be resigned to his fate amazed me. There have been documented cases of stories like this, people overcoming cancer, AIDS, and other tragedies simply because they did not give up! You cannot for one minute allow your mind to weaken, or you will defeat yourself. I have a feeling that the last inch I have to grow will be the most difficult, and the most rewarding, and I have NO intentions of stopping my efforts. Keep in mind, if you can dream it, you can do it! Regards to all, Brian

Fadex and Tony, sorry it took me a day longer than I said it would, but I have been incredibly busy at work. I am getting a bit accustomed to inversion, and I can tolerate it for longer periods of time (about 15 minutes) Something I did the other day: I took an analytical look at my body, just to find out how well it was balanced. It seemed to me my legs were long enough (at a bit over 5'11'' I have a 33 inch inseam), and my upper body was OK, but my neck could stand to be about an inch longer. This is a genetic issue for me because I look a lot like my dad, and his neck is VERY short. Thank God mine at least looks normal. I am saying this as it might be useful to analyze yourself this way, as this will help you zone in on the part of your body that needs to be lenghthened more. My brother, for example, has very long legs, longer than mine, yet he is only about 5'9 or so. His upper body is short and compressed, and he could probably gain two or three inches by doing stretching exercises, but he is not interested. I don't know of any way to make your neck longer, I do the rotations suggested by the ETC journal, and that hasn't worked so far. If anyone knows of any productive way to accomplish this, please post it, I would appreciate it. Regards, Brian.

I have done some checking on shark cartilage and glucosamine. A place called DNC (Discount Nutrition Center) opened up right by my office, so I went in to see about the products. They offer both, and the prices are (somewhat)comparable. The shark cartilage is manufactured by Twinlab, and it costs $22.95 flor a 30-day supply. The Glucosamine/chondroitin is manufactured by Country Life (Biochem) and it costs $27.99 for a 30-day supply. They are both in gelcap form, and from what the manager of the place told me, the Glucosamine is much better for rebuilding and thickening the cartilage between your joints. He also said that Biochem makes a better product than Twinlab, and the bio-availability (amount your body actually absorbs) is better in the Country Life product (about 70% rate of absorption vs 55%from Twinlab). I haven't taken either of these products yet, so don't read too much into what I have posted. These were just one person's views, but he seemed very nice and knowledgeable. I just thought I would post because there seemed to be an interest on the topic. If anyone is taking either of these products, please share your results with the rest of us. Regards, Brian

Re: Everyone Interested in Growing Taller: PLEASE READ.
I will start on Juli 21, 2003
At Start:
181 cm
63 kg
17 1/2 years
Hope for January 21,2004:
187 cm
Note 1: 6cm are too much to be gained only from stretched cartilage. Thus, if I reach it, growth should have occured.
Note 2: 6 months are too much time to say that growth needs more.
Program:
Morning - Kalsi, big breakfast
Noon - hanging, protein supplement(1h sleep)
Evening - kicking(Eric's stuff), HGH formula(longerhealthylife.com),(8h+ sleep)
Eat 6 times a day.
Drink 2 liters of water.
Simple, yet promising.
***I would encourage all of us to start on Juli 21, and then after each month share what we gained.***

Re: Vashku
July 18 2003, 5:19 PM
Pardon my pessimism, but your program, of all things, does not sound promising nor simple, not in the least. It seems like the type of program for someone who has no life, and I'm assuming MOST of us do, hence our failures with consistency.
A simpler approach: Ask yourselves a few questions, firstly, we should all come to a consensus with the appropriate diet for height gain. 6 meals or 3 meals a day? Exactly how much water is necessary? Eliminate/add in what types of food? second, how much time are we willing to take out of our DAILY routine?
Answer the above and we can probably generate something together.
Ill give you props for giving in feedback, though.
Anyway, on the note of Brian, that is truly inspirational. That is the type of determination we all need. Woo! I'm all fired up now!

LOL, must I add another disclaimer: No offense. J/K
I apologize, I have a problem with my lack of euphemism.
Anyway, I suggest everyone to read Brian's experience above.
Yes, I don't have a life. I will never have until I grow.
Eating more times a day over a long period of time makes our organism used to creating energy more often, in other words speeds up our metabolism significantly and really helps recovery after exercises.

"I was thinking about putting together a stretching program based on the Height Increase Journal, Kalsi's, and Heromar's program."
Froggers,
I thought you tried the Height Increase Journal and has absolutely NO success.
As for Heromar's, I thought that no one had the exercises because it's only available in Portugese. All we had was a questionable piece of this exercise program that Nikita posted.
As for Kalsi's, you're supposed to do ALL of the exercises. According to them, you cheat yourself BIG TIME by only doing part of their program. And unlike most, Kalsi seems pretty reliable and trustworthy. Besides, the daily program takes about 20 minutes.
And finally, we need to find a good HGH product. I know of none, but I think it should be an essential part of the program.

"If you have done other exercises to grow stop it for 4 weeks before starting these."
Just a part of Nikita's post explaining the program. Sounds suspicious to me. Hopefully an English version of Heromar's program will be released OR someone can give us a legitimate translation of the exercises.
BTW, Froggers. Height Increase Journal now has growth supplements. Like you, I don't believe there exists a "miracle" pill to make people grow 4 inches. But I do think there's substances that can encourage and supplement growth.

"I thought you tried the Height Increase Journal and has absolutely NO success."
That's true, but it's hard to explain how SF and others have grown an inch or more through stretching. And if you think about it, stretching is really the only principle on the whole forum that actually makes any sense. If you can thicken the cartilege through stretching your spine, you really will look taller. The catch is you have to be patient and consistent. I'm willing to give it another shot, but like I said, I want to make sure I'm doing the best stretches. Many of the HIJ's stretches are just garbage filler exercises that don't do anything. Like that "riding a bicicle upside down" exercise. What the fuck is that supposed to do? You know what I'm sayin?
"As for Heromar's, I thought that no one had the exercises because it's only available in Portugese. All we had was a questionable piece of this exercise program that Nikita posted."
The post that Nikita made was actually a repost of a post that someone else made who actually went to the clinic in Brazil. He spoke Portuguese, which is why his English is not so hot. I have the exact same text that I copied and saved as a word file when the post was originally made, so Nikita didn't make it up. I remember when that post was first made, and they guy seemed trustworthy. The problem is that he said it was custom made for him, whatever that means. I don't buy that bullshit. I think people say things are "custom" designed just so that they can get your money. I believe that if the exercises really helped that guy get 1.5 cm., they'll work for anyone.
"As for Kalsi's, you're supposed to do ALL of the exercises. According to them, you cheat yourself BIG TIME by only doing part of their program. And unlike most, Kalsi seems pretty reliable and trustworthy. Besides, the daily program takes about 20 minutes."
Again, I don't fully believe it. Everyone who has done Kalsi's has told me that their exercises are not any better than from the free journals. In fact, someone told me they were very similar to Heromar's exercises. Again, I think Kalsi's says that kinda stuff to get you to buy the book. I agree, it's well made, and I think you might want to buy it. But I don't think you HAVE to. Like I said, I think it just takes patience and hard work. Consistency. That's really a lot harder said than done, which would explain why not everyone is able to grow taller from stretching.
"And finally, we need to find a good HGH product. I know of none, but I think it should be an essential part of the program."
As for HGH, I think it's dangerous to randoming use HGH products. First of all, HGH is not a drug, so the makers don't need to prove their claims. That's why most HGH supplements don't work at all. They're treated by the FDA like herbs and vitamins, they don't need to actually prove their claims of fighting cancer or making you younger. The bets HGH booster I know of is the longerhealthylife forumla, but to really untilize it, you need like all this equipment and stuff. Plus, the guy says you could increase your chances of getting cancer, which scares the crap out of me.
I think what we really need is good nutrition, high in protien, low in carbs and fat. Lots of water, and sleep. Unless you are in your teens, HGH is not going to do anything for you since your growth plates are probably fused. If they are not, and you're rich, I would recommend going to a doctor and actually getting REALY HGH, which costs $$$$$$. Other than that, we just need to provide our body with enough nutriends to build more cartilege and muscle. That's my take.

"I would recommend going to a doctor and actually getting REAL HGH, which costs $$$$$$."
I'd like to find a way to get real HGH through a different way. I don't think a doctor would want to give someone HGH solely for the reason of getting taller since I'm not THAT short.
Could you help me find an alternative way to get the exact same stuff that I could take orally or inject into myself?
Thanks.
Froggers (no login) 66.81.18.90
I don't think that's possible.
July 20 2003, 5:52 PM
Real HGH is pretty regulated. I don't even know how they get it. It's not the stuff you can buy at a store or online. It costs like $1000-2000 per injection. It's only for rich people, and there's no guarantee that it will make you grow taller.
I think if you have money and find the right doctor, they will do it for you assuming you qualify. I think MarcusCamby or someone else was able to get some from Mexico, but I don't know the details of that. Maybe he could claify for you.

September 4 2003, 10:20 AM
helber mello´s post about heromar routine is just a fake . Heromar says in his site , that he does custom excerises for one person ( well he adapts his routine to each individual ) based on a Xray. And he says its something like 30 exercises , not 15 like helber said. Anyway ,helber was in the inition class , so his exercises wont help us , because they are custom for him. Im tired of saying this but ill say it again , heromar is the reall deal , he can make you taller at any age , i know this for a fact because hes very popular in brazil and i read in the newspaper that his clinic treated something like 4.000 ppl so far. Im still trying to reach him and ask if theres an alternative way to do his method , ( i dont think we can all go to brazil right ) but still no luck. I´ve asked like 3 times in all the forums if someone could help me to contact heromar. I dont understand why no one cares about this , i really dont , heres a guy that has the solution for our problem and no one cares. I pretty much gived it up too . The phone call to Brazil is way expensive ( im from Portugal ) , so if you know someone that lives in brazil , pls let me know.
Thanks.

in response to hello's post:
i believe that when people want something so badly, they reach one of two points: skeptism or desperateness.
when people, like many on this board, have spent hundreds of dollars AND much of their time on products that do not work, i think they have every right to be skeptic. of course, there's always that point when they will believe anything will work. many, if not all, of these websites that promote growth are very convincing. they will fool many people although many, like some on this board, have become better than others at pinpointing which products are scams.
i know you feel very strongly about heromar's solution, but don't speak as though it really is the solution because you don't know that for a fact. for instance, you said, "heres a guy that has the solution for our problem and no one cares." A better way to say this may be, "Here's a guy that has a POSSIBLE solution to our problem, and I THINK we should look into it." i just don't like it when someone on hear truly believes a product is the solution, and they're not out trying it. it makes me feel like they want others to try it for them. if this was the case and the product didn't work, what would you say, sorry?
hello (no login) 212.113.164.98
your wrong
September 4 2003, 3:02 PM
i know for a fact that he is the real deal , because his method is patented , and protected , hes a reall professional with lots of study in all the areas , he has published articles of his method in the sience comunity , in USA maily , i wouldnt be so sure if i hadnt done some research , and if you read closely , im not asking anyone to try heromars program , i just wanted some help to contact him , so we can know when he will release his book . Hes working on book to make his method avaiable , if you dont know , ( im pretty sure you dont ) his exercises are custom fit for 1 person you need to take an xray , and they must be supervised , it makes no sense asking someone to try it out because no one here is from brazil. I´ve seen 5 brazilian newspapers talking about his clinic and how a inovation is it is. 4.000 people have grown so far so im pretty sure its not a scam. And by the way , his site has just information and explanations of his method , he doesnt even have prices there. Next time be better informed before you make a critic to someone.

the site is www.heromar.com.br but its in portuguese , so you have to use a pretty good translator , and by the way if you dont believe me , just ask some portuguese / brazilian to search for heromar on google -brazil , and you ´ll get 3 ou 4 newspaper sites with news about it. Thats all. By the way , i found out that hes going to realease his book in 2004 , in the first 6 months , its about this method but im sure if its for the sience comunity or that it is the method itself for the persons. I hope its the second choice
