Just got back...

Seems I missed a whole lot of great CR talk on the message board while I was away.

Thanks for the pics and recaps of the concerts from last weekend everyone, wish I could have been there.

I also agree with whoever said Ken was under-photographed. He's just so damn mysterious! :) (I have a couple of pics of people's legs that were susposed to be pics of the drummer.. hmm.. I think its a conspiracy)

Unfortunatly while you were all getting some west coast action going on I stuck on Sebago Lake. At least I was listening to CR, which probably saved my sanity. Me and my friend had decided to take the boat out, listen to some music, and look at the stars. Then we got lost and before I could figure out how to get home we ran out of gas.

So I listened to Common Rotation on the radio until the batteries ran out, which is why I didn't go completly crazy with worry that night. Listening non-stop to the cd for a few hours put me in such a good mood that it was annoying my friend because she kept going "we're gonna die! we're gonna die out here in the middle of nowhere!"

But then after the batteries ran out it got really quiet and after a moment I was like, "Damn, no more Common Rotation... now we're really screwed." So Lisa decided to try to get some sleep and I stayed up looking at the stars wondering how far away California was.

Thankfully in the morning we were able to flag down some police guy who towed us back to Point Sebago. When we first waved him over my friend started babbling about how horrible the night had been and how we were so lucky that he was there to save us and I was just like, "dude, do you have any batteries?"

Also, I converted my sister to CR because I kept bringing out my radio during the nightly campfires. Though she said that they sound a lot like Dave Matthews Band, which I guess is a very good thing considering how much she loves that band. But still, DMB gives me hives. Their music isn't that bad, I guess, but when my sister was still living in my house she used to play this one song of theirs at full volume non-stop for weeks on end. *shudders*

In closing, I'd just like to say there is nothing in Portland, Maine. Really has nothing to do with anything, but just had to say that after driving 30 minutes to get there and finding *nothing*.

the whole time i was reading your story, i was waiting for the part where you said you starting singing the songs once your radio's batteries gave out!

i think that's what i would have done, and then you truly would've drove your friend crazy. eg

sounds like a fun trip, even with the whole stranded in the middle of nowhere thing.

On that note...

We went to karaoke on wednesday... for a moment I was tempted to start singing Oklahoma, but I couldn't figure out how to sing that song to the background music of Garbage's #1 Crush. I just doesn't mesh well.
