Okay I'm thinking that they probably have certain songs they plan to sing already on Tuesday night but I know I'd like to suggest/request some and so would Deborah so here goes.
I'd like to see the slower version of Oklahoma which includes Adam and his harmonica...I really love that one. Also Fortunate, Dancer, and The First Time. What the hell just play all the songs you've ever done! lol J/K! (although that would be enjoyable if not long. )
The slower harmonica-accompanied "Oklahoma" is far and away my favorite live song, followed by Dancer... and, I think, "Offstage Lines." Granted, I've only heard the last song twice, and can't even remember how it goes. I only remember that I was completely breathtaken, wanting to hear it on constant replay afterward (even if that would mean eventual death, because, y'know, need to breathe to survive).
I'll third the harmonica version. I loooooooooove that!
And I want Burgundy, More Complex, Lena, Indie Rockin, What We Have Now, Sit Down, Offstage Lines, and Pretty Lights. Oh and Don't Let's Start and Everybody Wants to Rule the World. I'm not greedy or nothin *g*

Re: Song Requests for Tuesday Night

At the risk of sounding like a total asshole, how about we just let them play their set? If they want requests they'll let us know it. It's one thing to say "I hope they play this song because I really like it", but there's always at least one person in every thread for any show saying what songs they want to hear, and it always comes out as a demand, even if you don't mean it that way. (And you always want to hear the same songs! Doesn't that get boring?) Frankly (Mr. Shankly), I don't think anybody gets song-demanding privileges unless they're paying up with some heavy-duty sexual favors.

"heavy-duty sexual favors"? Hmmm....

Dammit, I still want Fortunate. I went all the way to Arizona and they still didn't play my request. Oh well, I'll get over it. :)

That hardly sounds like an a**hole

I don't think what any of us are doing actually constitute requests, just kinda expressions of what we'd love to hear. All of it will be good and I think most of us are mature enough to understand they're already facing ample demands personally and as a band. In posting such messages it's just kinda going, hey, if you were already thinking about it, we'd love to hear it but of course are looking forward to whatever you play.
Part of what I love about the shows is that they do what they want to do and (mostly) look like they're having fun for themselves. I hope they keep doing that no matter what anyone else wants from them. This all reminds me of the work I've been doing recently, where everyone's so happy to tell you exactly what they want from you, even if it's absolutely gutwrenchingly disgusting, and if you on the receiving end don't want to do it you just have to say: STOP. I'm doing this for me. Of course, it would be better if people would just know and not force others into the point of having to say vehement NOs. There's asking gently to see if there's a chance and then there's indignantly expecting that you deserve something, which is where the problems come in, IMO...
Wow, all that long-windedness and still 18 minutes till Education & The Courts!
Anyway, I'm just looking forward to tonight's show and hoping to bring some of my non-evil law student peers with me - there might be few of them, but they DO exist... and can be spotted with a highly trained eye, and when spoken to with proper indications that you too possess a soul...

Thanks Deborah, that's mostly what I meant to say in a less assholeish way.
"This all reminds me of the work I've been doing recently, where everyone's so happy to tell you exactly what they want from you, even if it's absolutely gutwrenchingly disgusting, and if you on the receiving end don't want to do it you just have to say: STOP."
I've told you before and I'll tell you again: you need to get out of the professional prostitution business. A young lady of your talents could surely find work in soft porn instead.
