Kidnapping the professor.
For what? You're not going to pull a 'warren' and use a cerebral dampener on him, are you? lol

Kidnapping the Prof!

September 11 2002, 7:13 PM

Rachel -

Waitaminute, waitaminute - Are YOU planning on kidnapping him? Or are you trying to get someone to snitch on TB? I mean. Erm. Not that TB is planning anything mind you.

Pull a Warren? Pshah! Don't you know that a Willow can overcome a Warren anyday? And lemme tell you, a Xander can overcome a Willow. Xanders the bestest. You see, good wins over evil any time. And love, my man, love conquers all.

And manacles.

I like manacles.

Think TB has any?

Rachel.. tsk tsk tsk.. why would you wanna save him? I mean, doncha know it's far cooler to be The Bad Guy? Hello!

Good guys have to go around all "tra-lah-lah, look I'm so good" While Bad Guys get to wear tight jeans and hair grease and ride motorcycles and drink Martinis.

Hi Briel

September 11 2002, 8:12 PM

Shh! Of course this isn't the new OT thread. This is a serious discussion on the merits of Good and Evil and how they pertain to modern man.

And yes, there will be a test.

And no, it will not be multiple-guess.

Will there at least be true/false questions or is it strictly essay?

(Login roniabirk)

lol, ok i see my ...

September 11 2002, 9:40 PM

suggestions for thread titles were WAY off from what you ended up choosing. and as Stewart Smiley would say "And that's ... ok."

Groupie: I wasn't knocking the dial-ups, in fact, I was trying to help them out by getting a new thread going. I guess I did *gasp*, but you have to understand where I am coming from ... a computer job at a University ... been in a Uni setting for the last ... 8 years, one of the supposedly "bleeding edge" technology Universities around. So ... we expect a lot from our computers and bandwidth around here. But I haven't been known to abuse it, no, no. not me. uh-uh. *innocent smile --- adds the halo too*

How about another SNL reference: Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handy --- "If a splinter is a small piece of wood lodged under the skin, and wood comes from a tree, do you think having a whole tree lodged under the skin would hurt too ... and how big would the tweezers need to be to get it out?"

:p

Dana

P.S. CR related note: Do any of the songs have the word "tree" in them? hehe

Re: Kidnapping the Professor?

September 12 2002, 12:23 AM

Shelly - No true false. Fill in the blanks and essays only. I suggest a lot of study and perhaps a study group for this.

Dana: I was joking with you. Hmm. I guess I need to work harder on my straight faced comments. I love dial-up! Wee! Dial-up! You've got mail! No wait, I don't. Actually, I'm enjoying my brand-spanking new DSL. But I think I was ripped off. It sucks. I don't see it as much quicker than my 56k dial up. Grr.

And you've now made me feel like a complete failure. I haven't seen SNL since, well, Mike Meyers left the show. And I think that was at least eighty years ago.

Anyway... a CR song w/ the word "Tree" in it. Hmm.. Off the top of my head. Yes.

"Down by the bay, Where the watermelons grow.. back to my home, I dare not go.. for if I do.. My mother might say.. 'Did you ever see a bee, shagging a tree? Down by the bay..'"

No wait. That's not a CR song.

Honestly, I have no idea if any of their songs say tree.. I can't think of any myself.

I must say that compared to last week when this forum had me tearing my hair out at our bickering, this week's incessant OT postiness has me laughing and I like it a lot better.

I would rather kidnap Adam. Haha

Hacker Groupie-QED? And no manacles. Well unless you count furry cuffs. *weg*

Rachel-I cannot believe you started this thread. No, wait, I can actually. Haha.

Dana-hehe OT is fun!

September 12 2002, 6:24 PM

Okay.. glad you're entertained TB. I always approve of things that make us smile.

Which is why I should be reminded again and again not to get into any serious subjects on stupid Joss buffy lists. I'm ready to pull my hair out, and maybe the entire thing was my fault. Dammit. I hate that.

Why can't I be like The Who's Tommy? Blind, Deaf and Dumb sounds very nice right now. Of course, then I'd have to deal with Cousin Kevin and a scary Uncle who likes to 'fiddle about.'

And yes, there is a musical for each and every one of my moods.

The best part about being Tommy - I'd be a pinball wizard and have fame.. you know.. up until I wake up and piss off the masses.

~Lael

Ooh.. and I just thought of another good thing. I'd get to sing the "See Me, Feel Me, Touch Me, Heal Me" bit.. which is nice. Or the orgasm song. We like orgasms. "Lovers break carresses for me.. love's distraction don't know why. You feel me coming... a new vibration. From a far you'll see me - I'm a sensation! I'm a sensation!"

I'm in a slightly better mood now. Funny how an orgasm'll do that to you. blink

Oh. And no kidnapping Adam. I have just decided to declare him mine.

but i chuckled.

and now i am off to mow my lawns ... and all those sticks. i have my dream mower *(yes, sad i know that i, a girl have a dream mower)* it's mulching one that is electric. no bags, no clippings, no gas, no nothin'. just get the blade sharpened when it needs it and the battery may need replaced in about 7 years.

i'm an environmentalist at heart really. can't you tell by all the paper i save by posting here instead of writing letters to you all? lol

Dana

P.S. Hi Shelly! I know you will see this soon. Did you have a strong urge to break out the Ben & Jerry's this afternoon too? Man. It is still hitting me. Not a very good dinner though, lol. And see? B&J, still environmentally friendly ... well, cow friendly or vegan friendly ... something to do with those bovine drugs.

Hacker-that is my ALLTIME FAVORITE musical. I love Amazing Journey, that is my fave song and Smash the Mirror and Cousin Kevin. So wonderful. Absolutely love it. Hehe I could talk about that musical for hours. Saw it in Broadway my ONLY trip to New York

And hehe yes of course I was entertained. What got you so riled hun? And you can't have him, he's MINE!

Dana-you have a dream mower? I'm running scared now...

Rachel-haha yes but he's all mine, no one else's, MINE, MINE, MINE!

Re: Kidnapping the Professor?

September 12 2002, 6:40 PM

TB - You like The Who's Tommy also? Wicked cool. I love it myself though it's not my current favourite. When we performed it at ACE (Actors Cabaret Eugene) the woman who played nurse one messed up the line "it's a boy, Mrs. Walker.." during rehearsals and subbed in the word "goy." (Young Tommy was played by a sweetie named Samantha) and well, you're a Jew. You can figure it out. You'd have to be there but to this day I sing "It's a goy, Mrs. Walker, it's a goy."

And no, Adam isn't yours. He's mine. Didn't I just declare that? What do I have to do, stick my flag in his back? err..

We'll currently ignore what got me upset on the evil Joss buffy list of death, because I'm currently in a better mood. And I like that.

I'm still amused by the joke.

I'll never let go! Never let go! And unlike "Rose" in the movie Titanic, I won't immediately release poor "Jack's" stiff hand. Of course, I don't think she meant it literally just then.

Actually, I'll trade you Adam for Eric and a Michael Deluise. Wait, that sounds bad. As if Eric and Michael D. are only half an Adam. How cruel. How mean. I'm kinda amused.

Okay, we should keep things as they are. And I get Adam so neener neener neener! *Grabs Eric, Mike and Ken too*

Hacker Groupie: that's it. now i have to run to the video store because all i can picture after i saw the words "you, me, and a vat of pudding" *or something like that* was "Stripes" --- Bill Murray, John Candy, the bar, the women wrestling, John Candy getting in there, LOL. that was one of my favorite movies growing up ... which is odd considering how young i must've been when it came out, but oh well. i wouldn't be the media junkie i am today if it weren't for all the radio and movies i was raised with/by ... i mean, around.

So, since this is the OT (that's, on topic, right? hehe) thread. how's about this topic we haven't gotten to yet. favorite leisure sport (ie, bowling, darts, pool, miniature golf, darts, etc) or the game anyone should play against you because it gaurantees them a win and a boost for their ego?

Favorite Leisure Activity?

September 12 2002, 10:56 PM

Well in my perfect world where I had all the extra time and money a girl could want I'd say horseback riding. I started riding when I was 13 and went all the way until this last December 2001 (I turned 23 July 3rd of this year so that makes nine years of riding) when I had to stop because of lack of time and money. The place where I rode let us work there to earn credits to ride but with school and a job I didn't have time to do that and for the same reason I didn't have time to ride. I rode English and my main thing was jumping and cross country eventing. I was up to jumping 3 feet 6 inches in December. Not much compared to some people but it was great fun, like flying. I miss it so much! Practically cry every time I see a horse or think about the horses I rode, Chamois and Bear. So yeah I haven't ridden in 9 months and I can't even imagine what it will be like when I can go back and ride again for the first time. I'd better bring tissues. LOL Some people may say well if it means so much to you couldn't you make time? Well I actually could do it this semester since I get out of school in time but my friend and riding partner still works and we are scared of what our instructor, aka bitch monster from hell , would say if we came back. We really don't want to see her. See we kinda just stopped coming with no notice. One week we called because we couldn't come and then the next it was holiday and then the next we couldn't make it again and wouldn't ya know it, it's been 9 months. It's amazing how time can run away with you. I've been meaning this whole time to sit down and write a letter to the owner of the stable and apologize and such but again I say 9 months have passed and nothing has been written. I feel bad about not saying anything and so much time has passed. Perhaps I'll write something right now. I don't know what I'd say though.

Anyhow didn't mean to dump that on ya'll but it just came out. Thanks for lending an eye.

My sports are somewhat scary...

September 12 2002, 11:02 PM

My Favorite ... Target shooting. I'm a qualified marksman. (This is what I get from a father who's a hunting instructor and has helped trained police recruits). I'm supposed to go hunting with my dad sometime next month (ie. go hang out in the upstate cabin and shoot skeet while he goes out and hunts. I don't like hunting. *shrugs*)

Other than that.. hmm.. boffer sword fighting, kickboxing, archery, darts... "Just give me a weapon and show me where to point it."

Speaking of sports, Eric was quite the athlete when he went to school, wasn't he? And gosh damn look at those arms he has to prove it!

It's oodles of fun.. except that one time..

September 12 2002, 11:18 PM

I was in a tournament and I stepped up to shoot. I didn't realize it but the boy that had went before me was behind the target bale of hay thing. So I shot the arrow, and it went into the very top of the target.. any higher and it would have went into the ground behind it, and it would have hit the boy. So he jumped up from behind the target and started yelling at me, and I was just like, "Oh my god, oh my god.. I am SO sorry." And his father was yelling at him to stop yelling at me. I was so embarrased.

Ahh.. the early days of archery, when I didn't know what the hell I was doing. snickers

I guess it's a lot better than the early days I'm going through at the moment, trying to learn sword fighting with real swords. I have to keep reminding me self that they're not boffers and they do cut things when they hit them. I already ruined a couch.. a pillow.. some leather pants... a wall... eek.

Re: Kidnapping the Professor?

September 13 2002, 12:41 AM

Okay.. leisure sporty things we like to do... um... lesse.. um... hm... Next?

Lesse... the best way for someone to boost their ego is to play pool against me. I suck at pool. In New Orleans my friends and I hung out at a pool hall.. and um.. We (meaning me) preferred to watch rather than be the cause of much amusement. And believe me, it is only fun to watch the cute white ball fly off the table and hit someone in the leg only so many times.

I can bowl. But I don't. It's not good for my fingernails. And hunting is out. We don't do the killy animal thingie. Kinda like how we don't do the eaty animal thingie.

Briel - hehehe. Nope. I've claimed Eric too. But I'll loan him to you. We can discuss the price at length.

Dana - sorry about that! I will definitely call you tomorrow. By the time we got home I figured you'd already be asleep.

Briel - although I've never been horseback riding, it's something I've wanted to do for a long time. I really hope you find a way to start riding again. It sounds like it means a lot to you.

Stef-he told you your were his favorite? I'm all jealous now. But I'm his Biggest Fan, so he's mine! Hahahahahaha

Shelly-tis the moral, don't go out or you miss stuff. Hahaha.

Dana-fave leisure sport? Well I wear a Crossbow to respresent my Buffy obsession but I would love to know how to use one. I suck at bowling and mini golf (mainly cuz I am a kamikaze golfer) but I still do both cuz sometimes I hate them, sometimes I love them. I've ridden horseback twice, once in Oz, which I loved and well I used to be on swim team. That would be my favorite. Also loved pool, played for a few years in college, how I met my first ex and stuff now I just get my ass kicked. Haha. So um yeah swimming, even though I haven't swam in a long time.

Hacker-yep, tis my fave musical. That and Starlight Express. And yes I get the "it's a goy" hahahaha. Too funny. I loved pool, used to rock at it. Now I get my ass kicked. Last time I played I hit the cue ball off the table twice, the same way, by making it jump. Haha.

Vixen-the fact that you are a marskman is seriously spooking me. Haha.

Briel-*wuvs* I understand how you feel, I keep meaning to do certain things but I haven't yet, and it takes forever for them to get done. I rode last year when I was out in Sale. It was fantastic. My horse just loved other horses though. We think he was gay. Haha.

And hehe no fighting over the band members! Remember they're all locked up in my living room, robots are in their place currently. *snicker*

Erm. Yes. Hi.

TB - snickers Roboto Common Ro? Dude... that's just.. scary. Now if they decided to go all Queen like.. that'd be a different story.

And the band doesn't know it yet, but I'm their favourite. I'd bet my Frosted Mini Wheat cereal on it.

Tomorrow is Friday, yea! 'Course, it would be better if I was in NY. Sucks too. My friend Re is there and going to the show. I told her the 'sticks' joke. She thought it was a riot. No accounting for taste *NOTE I am saying this straight faced, joking. As in Ha ha ha. Yes. okay. Well then* Actually, she rather likes the idea so if you see this Italian looking Irish chick at the show holding a stick.. well, just remember she's the evil sister. I mean, that'll be Re.

Okay, I'm tired and posting right now just to hear or rather read my own voice. I think.

So I'll sign off and say goodnight.

And eventually get the dang song in the title of this out of my head.

One PM - I could deal with that. Unfortunately the day has just begun and 10 AM takes a long while to turn into One PM. (Although it's rumoured that it only takes three hours I don't believe it)

I can call you Hey You? See, that's cool. You know you're a true friend when you've been given permission to call you that. Like we've known eachother so long I've been allowed to forget your name. Cool.

I tried for the longest time to get people to call me "Goddess" but it was like pulling teeth. Instead I get stuck with a guy at StarBucks who insists my name is Bob. I mean, geez, just cause I used that name once when I ordered my latte doesn't mean it's mine If that were the way things were I'd also have the name "Vestiphobia" and I am not afraid of clothing.

Hey You - No calling me Joe. That's just weird. 'You can call me "Flower" if you want' to.. errm.. yeah. Remind me never to tell you any of my inner-most personal secrets... knowing you, you'd use them all against me.

Dana (second edition) - Okay, now I'm intrigued. Why is "Eric with Hair" ironically funny in your world today? I'll give you a shiney new nickle...

September 13 2002, 2:03 PM

*cough* those seem to be going around *cough*

to copy and paste posts so that i don't have to try and remember who the heck i wanted to respond to and why. god, i am deeply shamed.

Tamz: aw, that's so sweet. i'm loved. *blush* i have achieved my purpose in this world, lol.

HG aka Bob aka Goddess aka Flower: not so much Starbucks as Barnes & Noble. i guess that's just who they decided to contract with inside their stores. B&N is good because they've got my yummy coconut coffee drink and Thomas the Train tables for Jack to play with while i read. that's a good spot to cool off on a 100 degree midwestern day.

and(beta release) don't worry, i am not a tea person. they scare me with their bags of suspicious substances and fine china and what not. *shivers*

and(.01234) sorry, i only collect old nickles cause they are worth more. :D

Shelly: well hello right back at'cha! only surfing on lunchtime, you good employee you, lol. and pudding. i have no i-dea why you would crave that ... oh, wait, unless it's that conversation by those crazy girls up there. yep. that must be it.

Hey You - You caught the Bambi reference - not that it was so very difficult to see. And stop calling me Boobie. I'll tell Adam on you! ('cause you know, Adam and I are like this or not)

Dana - Barnes and Noble. Gotcha. We like books to. We prefer our books from Borders though. And we like to read trashy romance novels. I like "beta release" now we just need to find some cute musician guy to beta test me.. erm, strike that. Glad you don't like those tea people either. I think they're sneaky and suspicious. I think they have illegal substances in those tea bags. Damn hippies.

Shelly - I hope you aren't meaning that I look like a Bob. I don't think I'm amused. Off with your head.

Dana- Yes, I've got multiple personalities. Actually, funny thing, I tend to talk about myself either in the third person or in the God Head. We are not amused yadda yadda yadda. I don't know why. I think I started it with my friend Marisa to annoy this guy Nick we know. And it caught. So far though only Marisa and AJ have continued it with me. Okay. I'm totally cracking up. You all are a riot. a mob. Warren.

How is that there are so many Warrens? I see one Andrew and on Jonathan and like five million Warrens. I think people are cheating. Or maybe every one is just really really scary. I think I'll go hide in my mommy's closet now, thank you.

Have I mentioned how much I hate Warren? He's evil. You're evil. I want my mom!

As for bandwith.. we won't mention the fact that I always have two windows open for this board..

TB - Blasphemy! You don't like coffee? Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

And I've never had sweet corn soup.

~~

I also have an important announcement. We are nearing post 100. It is very vital that everyone SHUT THE HELL UP when we get to within a few notches to it. I must have post 100. If I fail to post message 100 the world will end. Do you want to be responsible for the end of the world? I don't think - crap. You're all Warrens. So, yes, you do want to be responsible for the end of the world.

And why don't I have a jet pack? Huh? Were you going to just leave me? Is that it?

TB - Ewwww! You smooch everyone on the mouth?! What if the person's rabid and drooling? Huh? Slime...

And you can't have 100. It's mine. I've claimed it and dammit I deserve it. Or don't you want me to have some happiness in my sad life? Huh? Do ya? Grr. L

Favourite movie... oh geez.. that's hard. Well, I'll tell ya a few, but you have to realise "favourite" means "currently favourite" I tend to circulate stuff. So, my 'favourite' movies are: "Ever After" and "Galaxy Quest." And if I'm feeling especially poor (as in 'gimme some money') my favourite is "Brother Sun, Sister Moon" (It's a 1972 Zeffirelli film about St. Francis of Assisi)

Granted, I do have "The Matrix" playing on the vcr justabout every night... but I'm not actually watching it. It's my current bedtime movie.. helps me sleep. I've got myself trained that I can fall asleep before Neo even gets the cell phone. Talk about talent.

I noticed TB mention Disney animated - God, I love Disney. Beauty and The Beast and The Little Mermaid are my faves.

TB - giggles The Little Mermaid isn't a bedtime movie. Nononono. And the Matrix. I dunno. It works for me. I used to use Galaxy Quest as my bedtime movie and occassionally I used The Other Sister too. But The Matrix, it helps me sleep. Hmm..

And yes, you're a ditz - not that there's anything wrong with that.

Pleasantville is awesome. I loved that film.

And you're evil. You're Warren. Bah! Scrooge is nicer than Warren. Heck, Freddy Krueger is nicer than Warren. At least Freddy didn't kill Tara! Pshah! Actually, I love Robert Englund. He's too funny. I'll never forget the image of him holding a ladies bra up to his chest. Dear me.

I dunno who will be Shaggy or Scooby. We'll find people! Dammit, we will.

HG-I said The Little Mermaid meaning woohoo TLM! but went the Matrix as a bedtime movie? And ok whatever floats your boat. I use mp3s usually. Speaking of which I should be asleep.

Yep, I'm always Warren. I HAVE to be the leader and I just look cool

And haha why thank you. Maybe Jeff could be Fred. That would be funny. Then AJ could be Shaggy. We need a Scooby though.

TB -

We keep this up tonight and I WILL get post 100. It's my new life's goal. Okay, it's this hours goal. But that's okay.

Hey, if Jeff will be Fred I'm certain we can con.. convince AJ into being Shaggy. He's more the Fred type, but hey.

I used to listen to music to go to sleep - until I started dreaming the music. I swear.. I actually managed to have an MTV music video dream once. Very weird. And I'd tell you the details but they're just plain strange. I think it's a bad thing when you dream in song. Especially if there's a little blurb at the side of the 'screen' with the MTV logo and song information on it.

Much badness that. Hmm.. maybe AJ is right I should take pills. No wait, that's no fun. Unless they're happy pills. I think happy pills would be fun. Or talkity drugs. Yeah... talkity talkity talkity..

Err. It's 2:30 in the morning. Why am I awake? I mean WIDE awake? Oh yeah, cause an hour ago I got home from the evil Topanga Starbucks where I had my usual Latte. Mmm, tasty. Except that Garret was working. And he's a moron. He's a nice moron. But geez, he so has the attitude problem.

I'll shut up now.

Hmm... kidnapping stuff. I don't know a thing about this kidnapping stuff. TBs the mastermind. I'm just the follower. Er.. No wait. I am highly opposed to kidnapping them. In fact, I should offer the band a safehouse.. err.. safeapartment for them to hide in. Yes. They could hide here. AND NEVER LEAVE.

err.. wait. *twitch, twitch*

Rachel - Not sure if the boys will be amused. But I am.

Blink and BANG! You miss it..

September 14 2002, 11:36 PM

I just knew I should've stayed home today!

Everyone, greet Tamz.. the Common Ro Tavern Wench.

God, I love saying that. Tavern Wench. Tavern Wench.Tavern Wench. Tavern Wench.Tavern Wench. Tavern Wench.Tavern Wench. Tavern Wench.Tavern Wench. Tavern Wench.Tavern Wench. Tavern Wench.Tavern Wench. Tavern Wench.Tavern Wench. Tavern Wench. err..

At the costume shop they had a costume for just that thing... such fun, such fun.

Rachel - No keeping the boys in Canada. That would be bad. I'd have to move there and go around saying "Aboot, eh?" Don't mind me. I love Canadians. In fact, my friend Jenn made me an honourary Canadian. giggle She made me memorize the Canadian anthem too! Although, every time I try to sing it it always ends up sounding like "O, Christmas Tree" which isn't right at all.

Hehe, O christmas tree, huh?
Hehe, well we dont say "aboot" we say about. I must admit that I talk more like an American then a canadian. People even ask me if I'm from out south. I don't know why. I don't have an accent or anything like that, some people are just weird. :S LOL

And the boys need to come to canada, they deserve to, before winter comes. I hate cold. Warm is good. Hot is bad. Fire bad. Tree pretty. Adam pretty. Okay, I have to say, I haven't slept since Friday night (when Eric was in my dream) so I am going crazy...some one help me before I get a special spot saved for me in the insane asylum. :O

Deprived Canadians - Common Ro withdrawl...

September 15 2002, 6:39 PM

I have been lucky enough to see CR 6 times so far. But if we don't get some Common Ro in Canada soon... I don't know what I will do! I sent my parents to the poor house on this last trip. It was my third trip to LA in 6 months. I don't think they're gonna pay for it anymore! I can't afford it either.

I'm sure the guys would be a little reluctant to play in Canada (especially places like Winnipeg, where I live) b/c they really have no way of knowing what kind of turn-out there'd be. For them to come all the way up here, only to make Canadian money, is a big expense for a band. Our money may be pretty, but it's worth peanuts.

TO THE BAND (for future referrence) - I know a great club you can play here in Winnipeg... *IF you ever decide to come. I kind of know the owner too, whcih is cool. I go there all the time to see bands. Stage at one end, bar at the other and tables on either side of the floor area. Awsome venue!

I am willing to bust my ass all every night handing out flyers outside. It's not the prettiest area, but safe nonetheless. A small price to pay for a CR gig that I don't have to fly to.

Sorry, I just needed to babble about that for a minute. I contimplated starting a new topic for this, but though it may irritate people. I am doubtful the band will consider what I've said, but a girl can hope, can't she?
