now you gone and done it (HG gets 100th)

hehe, i tried to save the 100th post for ya Hacker Groupie on the 2nd OT thread, but you were no where to be found.

since we hit 100 on the 2nd OT thread, i am taking the initiation to start #3 and hopefully prevent the end of the world (HG tried to warn us it would happen if she didn't get the 100th post, but we didn't listen, did we? nope, we're just a bunch of Warrens i guess)

so, OT topic #1: favorite dessert that you can make or that you have to buy?

My favorite dessert that i can make myself is "no bake oatmeal cookies" -- i guess maybe that is not a dessert, but i love'em. cold out of the freezer. quick and easy and yummy. OR any ice cream with either coconut, almonds, or coffee flavored (a combination of those is highly encouraged too) scoop it out or just grab a spoon. i can handle that. hehe

My fav. dessert that i wouldn't dare trying to make so i have to buy it somewhere would have to be ... either the cheesecake vesuvius that i got at serendipity (except i am not a big cheesecake diehard, it was just massive) OR anything carrot cake with plain vanilla ice cream.

i am easy to please when it comes to desserts, lol. and i am not a confectionary type cook. i love to cook entrees and other hot dishes, but i have never tackled desserts. maybe someday if i get my dream kitchen (and yes, TB, i have a dream kitchen in mind to go along with my dream lawnmower, hehe)

My favorite dessert to make would have to be chocolate chip cookies. I make some wicked chocolate chip cookies, if I do say so myself. And yes, I actually make them from scratch - not the Nestle ready-made stuff from the store.

My other favorite that I wouldn't attempt to make is Tirimasu. Ooh, and the dessert chef at Cafe Pyrenees makes a delicious chocolate mousse. Yum yum. Actually, anything they make there is awesome.

So, Dana, I'm wondering if your dream kitchen is anything like mine...

With all this talk about dessert, I think I hear that chocolate pudding in the fridge calling my name...

Dessert

September 14 2002, 7:37 PM

I'm gonna go with Shelly and say Chocolate Chip Cookies or Chocolate Cake (no icing) for the dessert that I can make. Yum yum!

as for the dessert I can't make? Well I'm gonna go with Chocolate Ice Cream. I'm not much of a dessert person. But can ya tell I like chocolate?

Those commercials, "What would you doooo for a Klondike bar?"

I eat way too much junk food, don't think I can pick a favorite. Anything sweet and quick to make. I used to love the Famous Amos white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies at Suffolk Community College. However, I've since moved onto Dowling where they have no good food. Their bagels are stale. I fear those bagels!

Grr! Argh! Oh- desserts? Mmmm

September 14 2002, 11:30 PM

I just burst out laughing so hard at this thread name that I think I took a year off my kitty Clarence's life!

Dana - You're a doll! SMOOCH

I totally wanted that 100 post - but alas, I was forced out of the apartment today to go shopping. Such horrible things, eh? I did, however, get an awesome wig, a pair of black framed Harry Potter glasses and an orange shirt. Velma is coming along nicely.

TAMZ TOOK MY POST 100?! Okay, that's it Tamz. You loose your nobility. You are now the Official Common Rotation Tavern Wench. So there.

laughs

First I should say.. I am non domestic. I hate to clean. And I hate to cook. And I couldn't sew a straight line if my very life depended on it.

Last time I was going to "bake" cookies I went to the store to buy the ingredients and was horrified to realise how many things I needed to buy (I don't eat eggs so I have none in the fridge) - so I copped out and bought those handy ready to bake cookies. Ahh.. it was great.

I love deserts - far more than I should. Give me chocolate and you'll become my best friend. Coffee Ice Cream is the best though.

I am the wicked AJ! I have joined this forum... cause my Lael said that there were no boys. So I'm the token boy, I think. YAY. I rule.

Also, I have decided that I will do everything in my power to prevent her royal Groupieness from obtaining that much coveted spot of 100th Post. Because I am the root of all evil. Well, not really, since we decided that Eric was wicked, and I am nowhere NEAR as cool as Eric, but... I'm the root of all that is not particularly pleasant! Yes. Mwah ha ha cough cough

Tavern Wench - giggles I love that you grew the worlds tiniest balls. You know, on Buffy, Warren had balls once.. but Buffy broke them.

Oh.. and we should totally shun AJ.. I was all happy listening to my Common Ro cd earlier.. and then he made me put on the Jesus Christ Superstar cd. He's rotton. We should drag him out shopping with us. Oh, wait, I already did that today.

As for Warren... Yes, Buffy broke his balls, but not before Andrew expressed a desire to get a hold of them.Err... His orbs, I mean. Yes. Orbs. Cause you know, he never loved... uh...hanging out with me. Yeah.

And I will not be shunned. I'm like that annoying wart between your fingers that doesn't go away, no matter how much you try to ignore it. Yes. Except, I don't come with all that neat puss and stuff... (I almost made that an adjective, before I realized that wouldn't be proper...)

Okay.. WAY random

September 15 2002, 12:32 AM

I'm giggling right now like you wouldn't believe. I just went through some old files of mine and found two songs that my (online) friend Savaj wrote for me. Surprised me in the chat room we all hang out in. I should note, in that room I'm most commonly known as "Barin" a handle I picked up in 1995. Further noted: The Indonesian wedding comes from the fact that the next day, I was, in fact, attending an Indonesian wedding.

Thought I'd share the songs. They amuse me.

"Oh, I just walked in the room
and I caught the lovely barin singin`.

It offended all my senses,
and left my ears a ringin`.

But I gave a little smile,
and I made myself clap along.

Despite the freaky subject,
and that the key was off and wrong.

But I forgive her for it all,
I won`t say another thing.

Cuz she sucks face like a pro,
and we are sorta having a fling!

SO when she starts to hum, or to sing a little ditty..

just remember what I said, that she`s got such nice round t......

eyes.. "

And

"Barin`s going to go to an indonesian wedding she`s gonna be tired, cuz she avoided her nightly bedding. She`ll prolly trip and fall, and make a funny scene. But she won`t care at all, cuz she`ll think it`s all a dream. She`ll be high and wacked on latte`s that she bought at starbucks. And prolly thinking she`s still in a chat room full of canucks! she couldn`t be farther from the truth, but she won`t listen to me. She`s too busy getting naked, and dancin across the roomie! It distracted all the people at the indonesian wedding. Especially when she and the priest started making out and heavy petting! "

September 15 2002, 2:33 PM

since HG has some songs written for/about her, does anyone else have anyone songs that someone made for them or has sung for them?

OR, is there a song you love to sing? when i was in Mexico, this one girl in our group could not resist any time we were in a bar to get up ON the bar and sing "I Will Survive." oddly, she and i did not get along well, lol. i just don't play well with girls typically.

i don't think i have any songs written about or for me, but i love to sing to just about anything, except the absolutely non-fabulous BS and the blood curdling Glitter girl herself, MC.

Fortunate

September 15 2002, 3:47 PM

*since HG has some songs written for/about her, does anyone else have anyone songs that someone made for them or has sung for them?*

Well, here's a scary story about a guy named Adam Groom. He's my sister's brother-in-law, but not related to me, and he's like obsessed with me or something.

One day way back in March we were having a family party for my nephew's birthday. He was there and we started talking about bands. I mentioned that I liked Common Rotation.

A week goes by, and then one night at like 3 in the morning I'm woken up by a tap on my window. I was scared for a little bit, because I thought someone was trying to break in, but I finally got up the courage to look out the window and figure out what was going on.

So I look out and I see Adam, pretty drunk, holding a piece of paper in his hand. Then he started singing "Fortunate" really REALLY horribly off-key. He had searched the net for lyrics to a CR song, and had hailed a cab so that he could sing them to me. But I was annoyed, being woken up in the middle of the morning by someone who was drunk, so I just said, "Go home Adam."

And he's all, "Why don't you love me? Why can't we be together?"

So I said, "You have the wrong last name. Good night." And shut the window. hee ... afterwards I decided to let him sleep in my living room so that he wouldn't have to walk home.

And isn't it Ironic? Dontcha think?

September 15 2002, 11:55 PM

Pshah Dana! You know what I love, the term "Fast Friends" I see it all the time in the cheesy romance novels I buy.

The songs cracked me up, though I have to bristle at the idea of me singing off-key. I think the only time that happened was after I had my tonsils removed before 9th grade. Well, actually, if I'm goofing off I can purposefully sing quite badly. If I can remember which of my long abandoned websites has it - I'll put a link up here for you all to hear me singing. grins

Tavern Wench - Flower the skunky hacker? ACK! That's evil.

Dana - Eww.. MC and BS are frightening. Yuck. Can't say that I've ever had the urge to sing along with them. I did, however, go through a spell where I thought Tiffany was the greastest. Yes, well, we don't like to talk about those dark times..

Other than at Senior Prom, I have never sung Kareoke. I Touch Myself, Wenchy dear? Is there something you're trying to tell us?

Vixen - I love your reply to that other Adam!

Dana again - I also had a very drunk guy serenade me in spanish at a party once. I should again stress - VERY DRUNK. I was, however, amused.

Um, as everyone has pro'lly noticed. I have way too many 'favourite' things to sing. Most of the time I live in Musical land and listen to various musicals depending on my mood. Rarely do I sing things that aren't centered in theatre or opera-land. Right now I'm still on my Jesus Christ Superstar kick - in particular the song "I don't know how to love him." However, when I get in the mood it's possible to hear me singing along with ABBA or desperately trying to rap along with The Eminem Show.

Actually, some people with Real-Player have had trouble accessing the file. You can also hear me sing (if you want, I'm not forcing you - like holding a stun gun to your arm and threatening to feed you to Godzilla or anything) at http://www.geocities.com/hackergroupie/Dream2.mp3

Now, if I'm lucky I'll manage to get TB singing into my mic. I know she can sing. First time I met her I believe we started singing "Part of your World" from Little Mermaid together. Nothing says fun like impromptu performances of Disney's greatest to a crowd of strangers

Okay.. I'm off to lunch and to continue working on my masterpiece "Date Test" hehehehe.. Re and I have decided that there are way too many weirdos in the world. Rather than date and THEN learn how insane they are.. we'll just ask the questions first.

2) True or False: Living in your parents how is good - at age 30!
3) I drive a ..
a) Car
b) Truck
c) Bicycle
d) Drive?
4) Cows are best kept for:

5) True or False: Pot Everday A-Okay!

Did someone say Kareoke? I've been wanting to try that for awhile now. I've never done it but I think it could be fun. I don't know if I'd be able to get up there by myself at first. Maybe a group thing for the first song and I'd see how it went. I've been told I have a good voice. But I have no recordings to share. (Fortunately? Unfortunately?)

Briel -

Thanks! L I think it's unfortunate that you don't have any recordings. You know.. you can go to Fryes, Staples or justabout any computer store and buy a cheap comp mic for about 15 dollars. And you can download Real Producer Basic (for free) from the net. And make your own recording! Or you could come on over to LA and use my mic. It's fun. Especially when you're all wide awake from one to many lattes and it's 3 am and you're bored.

The only song I ever sang Kareoke (during prom and with friends) was La Bamba. Why? No clue.

speaking of cars!

September 17 2002, 10:55 AM

this is a new OT topic for our threads! whoo-hoo

chicks and cars

anyway, did i happen to mention how much i enjoyed driving while i was in NYC? lol, it was hilarious! we came across/under/through (whatever) Lincoln Tunnel, and then wandered around midtown a little (ok, a lot) trying to get to our hotel. we only spent about 20 minutes doing that probably, and it was so funny.

i had been up for 36 hours at that point, so it was not just a tad of giddyness going on in that car. ah, those were good times. and i still want to go back, so see? me and NYC get along well.

dream car anyone? what did you learn to drive in? my mom had Blazers when i was in high school, so that's pretty much what i grew up driving. still love'em but they are gas guzzlers and i don't live in the Rockies, so i won't be getting one anytime soon. dream car for me? hm, don't think i have one just yet.... will work on it though.

Dana: Hey I drive a Blazer!! :P They are only gas guzzlers if you accelerate hard like with any vehicle. I yell at my mother about this. She does 70 in a 55 Theres absolutely no reason to do this, speeding is for race tracks not for public streets where kids are passengers in peoples cars and die everyday because someone was speeding and caused an accident with a non-speeding vehicle. I only fill my tank once a week. AND..the most I have ever paid to fill my tank was 22 bucks and thats when gas prices were 1.75 a gallon. My moms cavilier was taking 19 bucks at the same time and thats a tiny car!

Besides The size is great when you have 2 bulky carseats/full size boosters, a huge stroller, a diaper bag and bags from shopping all at once. All that wouldn't fit in a trunk..I know I tried I like trucks, but with kids they aren't practical. This is my first SUV, I'll never go back to cars. I had a Corsica, was the victem in a hit and run those bastards killed my car!Beretta brand new sports kit, sun roof, etc gave up for a 4 door when I had my son in 96 had a tauras...hated that frigger. Now I have the Blazer and realized bigger IS better. Next is a van...

Oh and its good to pull the trailer for our ride on.

Chicks n Cars.

September 17 2002, 1:20 PM

Tavern Wench - Stop it! Do you know I almost burst out laughing.. in my office.. in front of coworkers. Bad. I have this image of the Shopping Cart from Hell falling from the sky and crushing me. Evil. Actually, we're rather amused by the image of random things falling from the sky. You drive an SUV... hm... I should make some blanket comment about people who drive SUVs. But I won't. Okay, I will. People who drive SUVs are CRAZY. nods head There. Actually, that was a pretty lame comment. No fire or flash. Or wit.

Dana - Okay, now you've really done it! Your chicks and Cars comment seriously had me laughing. Chicks and Cars. What is it about Common Ro that turns us into loonies? And don't say what ever it is you just thought about saying. :P

Dream Car? Hmm... I want a Neon. Neons are CUTE

My first car was a Ford Aspire, and yes, it aspired to be a car. It was great. At about 60mps it began to gasp and shudder. I was lucky that I had the car in Oregon where the 'max' speed limit is generally around 55 on highways. The luckiest day, however, was the day the huge blue Dodge Ram pick up decided to crash into me (well, my car). My Aspire died on impact and I bought a Grand Am that has been very good to me.

Chicks n cars. hehehe.

Oh, and I also want the Batmobile.

very true

September 17 2002, 1:21 PM

i love Blazers too. they are about as close as it gets to a dream car for me (now if they could make on that runs on solar power)

and yes, they guzzle gas when you speed. but, it's not exactly fair to compare gas tanks and cost. if you are filling up once a week, how many gallons is that and how many miles did you get off of it? lol, i am such a big loser, but i totally pay attention to my mileage and mpg. my odometer is always on the trip side. i almost never look at the total mileage on my car, lol.

i love my car though. even though it is smaller than a Blazer, though just in height i imagine: it's a 4-door Intrigue. a pretty blue intrigue with a cd player, the most important feature, so i can turn my CR cd up really loudly and sing along and frighten those manhattan pedestrians out of my way cause the light is green darn it! tehehe

HG singing...

September 19 2002, 4:33 AM

HG-hehe I knew you had a good voice, we did well on Part of Your World, cept I had like no voice. I used to do choir, I had a voice, (yes people I could hit the high note above C in "One Moment In A Time") and actually practiced and stuff but now I just sound like a dying frog. Ok well I think I do, some people like to hear me sing, they're strange I reckon. Anyways... you think I can sing? Haha and this is too cute! You sound good

We're talking cars now? Oh my, I just gotta say I love my Candy. Candy Apple Red 1997 Ford T-Bird. Which reminds me I better get my license renewed soon

Always wanted a Purple Pontiac Firebird though

HG2-I don't do computer mikes. Hell no, hate the way I sound on voice recorders and stuff. I hate my voice.

Briel, HG3-I have done Karaoke, it is a shitload of fun! I reckon for a CR gathering we should do Karaoke There are good places in Garden Grove. One of our faves to do is Summer Nights. The best was doing American Pie and only me and another girl knew the words. Or wait till you see Phred do Fancy, that is hilarious Maybe if you guys are good I'll sing One Moment in Time one time. See if I can hit the hi above C in destiny still...

Oh and I never weighed in my fave dessert... I love making the Lemon Bars and Chocolate Silk by Betty Crocker or the no bake Jello Desserts One I could probably never make is a real true carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and walnuts, NO RAISINS. That or Banana Cream Pie. Oh but I do love making cakes for parties I love baking! And cooking!

Hmm how much more off topic can we get? Oh I know fave guilty pleasure show? Mine is Saved By The Bell Followed by Baywatch g Could be cuz that's what I am watching. Haha. Little Richard is guest starring. I used to love this show

My Right Elbow

September 19 2002, 2:00 PM

TB - I certainly didn't notice you had a bad voice at the Hotel, rather you sounded good. I don't give false compliments and tell people they have good voices if they don't. Actually, even if you sucked I wouldn't say that. I'd just say something ominous like "So, do you like lemon bars?"

Even tone-deaf peeps have a right to sing - just preferably not near me. Now, if only I could find a way to make myself have perfect pitch like my friend Rendall...

Kareoke would be fun as a group.

Guilty pleasure show? Only show I actually watch regularily is Buffy. I used to watch "The Big Comfy Couch" on PBS. I loved that show. It was a great kiddy show.

"Get ready, get ready. Get ready to play along. With Luna and Molly, a clown and her dolly on the Big Comfy Couch!"

Does that count? Luna had a counting rug. It was shaped like a clock.

No Point to this... other than to beg...

September 22 2002, 12:47 AM

Not sure if you can go Off Topic on an Off Topic thread.. but here I go.

I forget if it was Tamz who claimed to have no sense of direction on another thread.. but geez - she hasn't driven with TB has she? heehee. I'm still cracking up. We went to see a band called White Eagle rehearse Thurs night and she got all turned around. At an intersection she was supposed to turn right - and instead turned left. Realising her error she pulled into a gas station to turn around. Back on the street she was like "I need to turn right" - so she did. Unfortunately now that we were on the OTHER side of the street she had needed to go left. So she pulled into the same gas station and turned around again. It was hilarious. But maybe you'd have to be there. Wee! Circles!

The rehearsal was fun to watch and maybe more fun when the guys were done. They left their mics turned on on stage and went out to have some fresh air - and gave us permission to play on stage. We may have scared the guys though, 'cause they left us alone for a long time. And TB and I thoroughly enjoyed singing Disney and multiple musical theatre numbers on stage. Though we tended to ignore the mics 'cause we were loud enough with out them. We also introduced Jack (the lead guitarist and singer) to Buffy the musical. When we went out for an late dinner/early breakfast we made him listen to it on the way. Good fun.

Now we just need to get Adam to invite us to one of Common Ro's rehearsals. I feel like I should insert some mad scientist laughter here.

HG-I took the scenic route. Nuff said.

Rehearsal was much fun indeed, but I still can't sing. You pull me up (I'm only a mezzo) and when he was playing The Rose, I was trying to stay 1st alto and well I kept getting pulled up to mezzo. Oh dear. Funny how neither of us knew each other's musical song choices either. That and singing OMWF at the top of our lungs in the parking lot. But remember I started that singalong with Oklahoma. And I reckon I did pretty well!

Oh and people, HG can sing. This girl has some set of pipes. I pale in comparison.

TB - L Don't put yourself down. You held your own when we sang. And we'll learn eachother's musicals. I mean, you WILL watch Les Mis. And maybe Carrie. And Sideshow. hehehe.. Actually, Carrie scares me. The girls in pink spandex are scary. Major.

As for "The Rose" - I hadn't sung that since 8th grade choir. Long time to remember it.. I think I hate that song.

You did very good on the Oklahoma bit in the lot. I was impressed. Next thing we know you'll be shoving Adam aside on stage so that you can sing it all for him. hehehe

I am drinking: A latte from my beloved Starbucks
I am eating: Nothing
I am listening to: Les Miserables - at the moment "Castle on a Cloud"
I am wearing: Black Sweat pants and a t-shirt
I wish I was: Out with friends, A Disney antimated feature voice, Sleeping (take your pick)
I soon will be: Posting.. err.. watching the next video in the Highlander: The Series set I was given by my exbf two days after we broke up. He gave me the first four seasons. I'm on season two, episode titled "Run for your life"

Yes, my life is dull. hehe. But I still love it, dammit.

PS. Dana - I'll cheer for you when you take over the stage. Just be sure to randomly switch your accent. We prefer Irish and English accents.. and say things like "Ya'll" and "Aboot" and "eh" when we speak 'normally' thanks to a year in New Orleans and too much time hanging around too many people with cool accent gimmicks that somehow get stuck to you.

Well, I was going to start this with a snotty remark on Briel being a dumbass. (Hey! She gave me permission! hehe)

But I'm not going to say it. Oh wait, I kinda just did.

BUT... I want to proudly introduce Briel singing the lovely tune 'Dancer'

She wanted me to warn peeps that she wasn't trying to butcher the song - and I don't think she did. Although she absolutely gave it a country twang. Give her props for recording it - takes guts to sing in front of others, I think. Especially in front of others who lovingly call her a dumbass.

It's Mp3 format and uploaded to one of my poor abandoned geocities websites.

an evil plot by Tamz to keep HG from getting the 100 post. but don't let her know we are on to her, hehe.

come on HG - "she who can babble for hours"

since we've talked about Jem everywhere else on this forum, i will announce that i too watched Jem. i even had a Jem doll ... don't think i had a Misfits doll though. LOVED Thundercats .. was only so-so about Transformers. they sold out too quickly. their toys got lame or something.

also watched Duck Tales (a-whoo-oo), the one with Chip-n-Dale (and the little fly friend - Zippy? i wanna say), Darkwing Duck, um ... i have such a bad memory. that's the best i can do.

because i haven't perfected the art of babbling quite as well just yet. bad understudy!

Dana

P.S. Was it just me, or was Adam's (the cyborg from season 4) hair spikey-er than before last night? the dusted off his costume and make-up, beefed him up a bit and borrowed some of Angel's gel. and WHY does Charmed get a 2-hour premiere but Buffy and Angel do NOT? mermaid, schmermaid. more Phoebe/Cole angst. blah blah blah. hey! maybe i do have this babbling thing down!

We are the champions, my friend..

September 25 2002, 1:39 PM

Briel - Nah... we didn't kill it... I'd blame Warren, but rumour has it he doesn't actually exist. You know, next thing I know some stupid fool will tell me that James Marsters isn't really from England..

ACK! Sorry, saying that, reminded me of how much I HATE Modesto California. I'm telling you, its one of the most evil places on earth. In fact, it might be the REAL Hellmouth's home. I mean... the spiders there are cunning and vicious and they stare at you with their big eyes as they plot different ways to terrorize you. I mean it! They are bad. I was staying at the motel 6 there and couldn't sleep.. I turned the lights on and their were roaches everywhere. shudders But that wasn't the worst part. There. On the floor. Watching me. Waiting for me to make one false move.. A big, hairy, ugly spider. It took all my effort to stop screaming and throw a phone book at it from my perch standing atop the bed. It was a battle of wills as I slipped on my shoes and jumped on the phone book to ensure the evil spider's death... It was highly traumatic.

Erm.. before that dip into melodrama..

Ah, yes, Dana - DUCK TALES rocked! As did Tail Spin! watched that after school every day. This is what I mean, there were so many quality cartoons on tv then. Now we're stuck with things like Powder Puff Girls. Ewwwww. Although, there is something to be said for Sponge Bob Square Pants.

And Dana, the art of babbling is simply that, an art. The easiest way to babble is to simply say whatever comes to mind without thinking about it first. I didn't watch Charmed. And I don't watch Angel. But I did manage to watch (not really)Haunted last night and may be scarred for life now. They should replace Haunted with a show about nothing. No, not Seinfeld. I mean a show about NOTHING. Like hang a camera above an empty room. And watch the playback from said camera for an hour. It would be far more entertaining. (Although, I do admit there were a few laughs to be found in Haunted. Just don't ask AJ when I laughed, 'cause it was at a pretty inappropriate time. You know, one of those angsty scenes where you watch the writer try to tell you why we're supposed to feel sorry for the main character and where the actor tries to follow the writer's lead and put as much schmooze into the scene as possible so that you're like "oh, so that's why he's all driven-like. I'd never have guessed." Except that you did guess. Because the reason for his dedication is the same as every single movie out there and you start thinking the writer is actually a monkey named Fred who's typing at a manual keyboard in the basement of a Mormon porn shop.) erm.

We'll shut up now.

Tavern Wench - hehehe. The Brit Marsters - wow, whoever wrote that must have been in shock during Buffy last night - seeing that JM was hosting and speaking w/o his accent. My mom and younger sister (who's birthday I forgot, for whom I got Adam's autograph, and as yet I haven't mailed) didn't get to watch Buffy last night. According to my mother UPN ran some sort of Star Trek show at 8.

Sadly, I do confess that my kid sister Becca (aged 15) doesn't listen to Common Ro (she's an N Sync/Backstreet boys kinda girl). She does watch Buffy - and for some ungodly reason - felt sorry for Warren when Willow killed him. Me, I created a Holiday out of it. It's the Official, Unofficial "Kill Warren Day." Erm.. yes. We have virgin sacrafices and then a pot luck ..

We love Adam. We hate his character on Buffy. Now we just need to see Eric guesting on Buffy as Dawn's teacher.. you know.. the young cute one you have in school that you swear you love...

And Mike could play a ghoul. heh.

And Ken could be a bum.

See, I can put anyone into Buffy. Well, I can't but.

Switching topics again - You think it's okay for me to dress up as Velma for halloween and still wear fx contacts? I can't decide between black contacts and white ones. I kinda like the white zombie style.

Can Velma be blind?

it's all my fault

October 2 2002, 10:03 AM

i go away for a weekend, i start slipping in my messageboard duties. for shame, for shame.

"this is the crack team that foils my every plan? i am deeply shamed."

So, HG what did you think of the episode last night? How good was that?! spoilerish stuff (the font color is #660000 if you guys want to respond and hide your thoughts too) - Ok, i think they threw the "R" word around a little too much and too lightly after leaving the "Seeing Red" scene as vague as they did. i don't know. i am a bit torn about that, but i don't want to discuss is because it a little like a dead horse now, so stop beating it, you know? --- i LOVED the last scene. i felt so bad for Spike when he had to say "service the girl" and got thrown across the room. that just felt so demeaning. i laughed when he said "angel should've warned me" because it was just too funny to see the realization on Buffy's face. the way he said "can we rest now" was just a perfect representation of how tired he is in every way - and the fact that Buffy was crying was nice. she finally stopped, listened, and showed some kind of emotion other than negativity towards him.

other things about the episode ... i loved the scene between Spike and Anya in the Bronze up to the point where he hit her! but he was still all loopy in the head and trying to hold it together. i am glad that Anya reversed the spell and i hope she and Xander get back together although you know nothing ever ends well on this show. Oh! and was that a CR song playing in the Bronze?? i could have sworn it sounded like "Hey Mr. DJ" because i thought i caught the line "collosal mess they've made of their lives" --- but then i couldn't hear it over the dialogue *shrug* --- let's see.

hm, i kinda liked Nancy. i think that Spike may not have his chip any longer even though Adam called him "17" last week just because his yelling when he stabbed Ronny was more like he was anticipating pain, but then he had that look of shock on his face -- was it because there was no pain or because the worm turned into a guy? i LOVE crazy Spike. i need transcripts so i can figure out his ramblings. lol

ok, that's enough from me on that. i shouldn't put it all in one post. spreading it out over lots of posts would be much more efficient to HG's cause.

Ok so I have missed this forum. I now remember why I love it so much. You guys CRACK ME UP. I am laughing like crazy here. Anyways...

RIGHT NOW:

I am drinking: nothing. Wish I had a coke but too lazy to get up and get it.
I am eating: again nothing. Last time I ate late, I hugged a trash can. Not looking to do that again.
I am listening to: well not really listening to but watching Swordfish. I'm currently drooling at Hugh Jackman. I like dark haired guys k? g
I am wearing: My green Tigger Disneyland shirt (one of many) and red, green, and blue plaid boxers with Tigger on them and black socks. I'm ready for couch.
I wish I was: at a certain boy's house cuddling on the couch. le sigh Either that or a Common Ro concert g
I soon will be: taking my drivers test at the DMV tomorrow. And before that probably studying then sleeping.

Yeah that was fun. g

Dana-you did pretty well on that babble. Hey I watched Charmed, I liked it! Julian McMahon is hot! g

HG-you really are the babble queen. That story bout the spider and the roaches, that was just hilarity! I could so see you doing that g

Briel-you're not a dumbass. g And you didn't kill the thread. We liked your Country version of Dancer

Tamz-No more bad skin jokes! My poooooooooor Warren. I still had to look away when they showed it again last nite.

Dana2, HG2- I LIKE WARREN damnit. I cried when he died and I continue to cry when he gets skinned again. I just can't watch that scene. Bad holiday HG, baaaaaaaaaaad! Warren was the incarnation of humanity at its absolute worst.

Dana3-I agree on most of those spoilers. It was good to see her show some real emotion for once. Poor Spike. But damn James looked good. Can you believe he's 40? I was drooling for one full hour. LOL.

I haven't been keeping on the forum much myself. I am such the queen of the babble, I really should be doing this more often. Haha.

HG3-NO FX contacts! Be a normal Velma. Well as normal as you could get. Haha. g

Dana4-you're thinking of Rescue Rangers. Zippy was the bee. Monterey Jack, Chip, Dale, and Gadget were the gang I loved that show. Oh and Darkwing Duck! "When there's trouble you call DW." Oh yeah, childhood memories here. Oh and TaleSpin. And Ducktales. Yeah I used to love KCAL afternoons

Ok I think this post is long enuf. I need to go study for my drivers test. So. Not. Fun.

Re: now you gone and done it (HG gets 100th)

October 3 2002, 3:46 AM

Welcome home, TB!

Okay.. why I said that.. oh yeah.. 'cause it's nearly 1 am and I'm awake. Dammit. What happened to going to bed early tonight?

TB - As for the spider story - it's TRUE!! It's WAY TRUE! Call Motel 6, I'm sure they have on record some weirdo calling them in tears to complain about the spider and why she was canceling the next night's stay at another motel hel -er 6.

It was true. I did leave out the boring bits, like calling every freaking hotel within miles for another place to sleep, calling the front desk for roach spray and learning that all they had was damned flea spray. Fleas! Yuck. Great. Infestations. I think I also left out the part about hopping up and down on the phone book for what seemed like hours but was prolly only minutes... out of fear the weight of the phone book alone hadn't killed the spider. (at which point I was wearing my shoes 'cause who knows if the spider could manage to jump out and bite me)

So, remember kids, just say no to Motel 6 in Modesto, California. Your car is safer. Sleeping on the freaking freeway is safer. Upsetting Warren while he's holding a gun is safer. Facing Veiny Willow is safer! And always have a cell phone with you so that you can call your mommy at midnight to cry about the evilness of spiders.

erm...

And you're the strange one TB. Dana and I and the rest of the sane world agree. Warren was much evilness. Adam is good. Warren is bad. And the unofficial Official Kill Warren day will be coming up in May. And Joss SHOULD bring Warren back (see! That should make you happy) and then kill him. Again. It's all based on Buffy the movie, you know? "Kill him... a lot" That was a priceless line said by Pee Wee Herman himself.. okay, not Pee Wee Herman.. but his alter ego and real self.. cept he was in character so it wasn't really a Paul Rubens moment. Willow killed Warren... a lot in that episode. But not nearly enough. He should come back and die some more. And I'm still pro-dropping cars on his head. It would amuse me. And you know, that's what this is all about.

NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

October 3 2002, 4:17 AM

Hacker-If Joss is gonna bring him back (cuz hello no one EVER stays dead on this show!) he CANNOT kill him again. I want Andrew and Jonathan to resurrect him I've seen some good fics out there. Most of them are A/W slash but still some good ideas g And hey no more killing of my Warren! I will not celebrate that day with you. Nononono. Warren was evil and wicked and scum yes but he was the representation of our evil sides left unchecked. He was human and he died unaturally. He didn't mean to kill Tara, he meant to kill Buffy and well ok that would have sucked but then again she never dies and it was an accident! Superbitch was in his way and he was at the end of his rapidly fraying rope. What would you have done? And I hated Witch Bitch. Scary Veiny Willow needs to pay for the killing of Warren. Wicked evil woman she was. And see I can ramble like the best of them... snicker

And hahahaha about the motel. You poor thing. I did a dance with a spider once. Built a big web right outside of my apt door and when I came home from work I walked right into it. I opened the door and stood outside for 20 minutes figuring out how to get me and my stuff inside without getting the nasty spider in with me. I even went and knocked on my neighbor's door hoping he would have been home to kill the bloody thing. I finally decided to crawl under the web considering the spider was up high but that was a creepy experience. I always get my boys to kill bugs for me. I hate them. shudder I feel your pain.

Oh and yeah *THWAP!* Next hit is with the numbchucks. We were testing them out last nite. They rock!

Re: now you gone and done it (HG gets 100th)

October 3 2002, 4:27 AM

Why do you insist on posting while I'm trying to go to bed, TB?

Veiny Willow was wicked cool. And Warren was still evil. And I'm happy he died. So there! HAH!

But he should come back. And it's okay if Jonathan and Andrew bring him back. I like the idea of Andrew becoming so full of emotion that he grabs Warren and gives him a smooch smack on the lips.

But Joss, in his Godly state, should kill him again.

Oooh.. and the rest of Common Ro could guest star. Mike and Eric and Ken could be bystanders when the SUV falls from the sky and crushes Warren. They could point and say "oooh! Look! It's an SUV!"

And that would be goodness.

And where are you finding these good slashficts? I never find any good ones.. Seriously. I found this awesome looking Troika site and the stories there made me loose brain cells. I think.

Of course, maybe that's good for Buffy verse. I'm more used to Star Trek Slash.. Mmm.. Garak... Bashir... Yum yum. Erm.. stands If there was any doubt that I was a geek.. please.. put it aside.

Of course, Andy R. who plays Garak admits that he thought his character was gay.. and played him that way. So there. It's all good.

~Groupie WILL go to bed soon. She has much workness in the morning.

"Look! Air." Yep.. a quote from Buffy, the movie. Priceless.

And lol "look it's an SUV!" Oh dear. Ohdearohdearohdear. And hey no more killing of my Warren! And you slashgirl you, Andrew is the gay one, not Warren. He's straight. I'd date him even if he is evil. snicker As long as he doesn't build any more robot girlfriends.

And I do it cuz I CAN. snicker

Why do you keep responding? g

I keep responding 'cause it's compulsive! giggles

Dude.. Andrew is gay. And Warren could be gay. In fact, I think Warren would use the fact that Andrew likes him to his favour. Yes.

And I wish I could be awake for the Troika bbc chat.. and talk about that. But I prolly would be asleep. And even if I made it. I'd prolly lag so much no one would ever ever ever see my question. And that would suck. Eggs.

You'd date Warren? But he'd kill you! I mean, so, it might be accidentally. But hon... you'd be dead.. and that wouldn't be fun. I mean, HELLO.. do you really wanna spend eternity with Elvis and Tiny Tim?

~Groupie

PS I loved Adam's interview in the yearbook. Made a lot of sense. But didn't change my mind. Warren is bad. Bad. You know, I'm pretty sure that Robert England tells himself that Freddy isn't really bad. I mean, look, he was wronged. Those parents killed him for no good reason. It's not like he was hurting their chil.. oh wait, he was. But still... grins

Vixen - Sissy girl? hehehe. You know, he didn't look sissy girl like to me. But I like the descript. Sissy girl. And we don't think you should teach Warren how to fire a gun. Sharp-shooter Warren is much badness.

Tavern Wench - Egads girl! You just managed to put the most horrible image in my head. LOL

Danalicious - Thanks for the tips! Sorry you're not feeling babbly right now I love that song, btw.

Though Macy Grey sings a (formerly country) song titled something like "Please Help Me I'm Falling" that is absolutely awesome.

"Please help me I'm falling... in love with you. Close the door to temptation - don't let me walk through. Turn away from me darling. I'm begging you to. Please help me I'm falling in love with you.

I belong to another, who's arms have grown cold.
But I promised forever to have and to hold.
I can never be free, dear. But when I'm with you -
I know that I'm loosing the will to be true.

Please help me I'm falling, I'm falling in love with you.
Close the door to temptation, don't you let me walk through.
Cause I shouldn't love you. But, darling, I do.
Please help me I'm falling in love with you!"

sniffles I love the song.

And now.. before I run off to shower, get dressed and buy a latte of goodness so that I can meet peeps at Hard Rock...

I will WILL everyone to post on this thread. It's cool. Don't you want to be cool? Here.. I'll show you a comercial for it!

~~Wayne's World Hand Wavey Thing~~

A pretty girl is sitting on a bus stop bench looking all bored like.

Some cool kids walking by point and laugh at her.

The pretty girl frowns and starts to cry.

Suddenly she gets an idea and a thought bubble appears above her head. She winks and pulls down a shade that covers the screen.

And now we see the pretty girl sitting on a bench. She's wearing Harry Potter glasses and a thick geek sweater. She's playing on a lap top computer.

The cool kids come over to the pretty girl and look at her screen. They give the thumbs up sign and smile. She's way cool now.

And finally, we see the screen. Look! It's the Common Ro forum! In fact - it's the thread HG gets 100th!

~~~Waynes World Hand Wavey Thing~~~
So, as you see. It's much cool to post on this thread. People will like you. I'll like you. And don't you want me to like you? Hmm?
As long as we're sharing song lyrics...
October 3 2002, 10:42 PM
This song always makes me think of CR (um.. kinda, sorta.. in a way..):
"i hear your voice and the world goes away
i see your face and this place is okay
oh, for just a moment of your time
oh, now that'd be sublime
do you hear me?
i'm here for you
you don't see me
i'm way in the back of the ballroom
i've been here since last night at nine
i was the first in the line...
corner cafe, random meeting
is that really you there?
scrape me off the ceiling
i've waited my whole life for this day
now i don't know what to say
you are the sea and the sky
and i'm content to not know why
you are so great, i am so plain
i am that moth to your flame" - #1 Fan by a person I've mentioned many times before and you'd probably strangle me if I bring him up again :P Apparently it was originally written for Bjork snickers
Macy Gray rocks!! I have her first album, though I haven't bought any of the others yet.
oh oh I remember now
October 5 2002, 6:32 PM
I was going to say that I looooove my Willow and I loved the dark Willow storyline. I loved Warren as a character in that "love to hate" way. He was pretty much evil and I don't blame Willow much for going after him. Though I do see why TB was upset by the intensity of that scene, the skin ripping especially. But I understand why Willow did it. Accident or no, Tara is just as dead, and the fact is the person he was trying to kill was Willow's best friend. And she was under the influence of very powerful dark magics on top of her grief and anger. And she is quite remorseful over it now. I may be biased because Willow has always been my favorite character on Buffy
I do hope they bring Warren back for real though, because he was a fun character to watch. Not someone I would want to know or date in real life, but he makes for a good story.
And Gwennnnnie ducks when can I have my me & Danny strong pic? pouts I wanna blow it up and frame it
Dana - I'm glad you made it okay to Florida! Weee! Sounds like fun.
Cece- Ahh.. my song. The thread died after I posted the link - I was worried that people might have died.
Cece revisited - You cannot guess what my AIM screen name is?? Here is a hint: Rhymes with Smacker Snoopie.
Cece to the third power - Yeah, let's bring Warren back. AND KILL HIM AGAIN! hehehe. You have to understand, before that episode Arky, Ozbourne, Re and I were hoping that he would be killed "...a lot" And Joss didn't let us down. I think his death more than qualified. We need him to be killed again. I mean, what better way to celebrate "Kill Warren Day?"
giggles at Tavern Wench heheheehehehehehehehehehehehe. Dude. You are to funny. And I don't even get that!
Okay... now everyone... stop posting. 'cause I'm going to go watch Mulan now and then I have to drive home. And if I miss the 100th on this thread I'll blame each and every one of you and EVERYONE will be taken off my christmas list. And the world could end.
Okieday!!!!!!!!
Dana- on Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers- the fly's name is Zipper.
My favorite desert: Puppy Chow
DIRECTIONS FOR PUPPY CHOW:
1 (6oz) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1/4 c. veggie oil
1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
1 box of Kellogee's Crispix cereal
2 c. confectioner's suger
In small bowl, combine choc. morsels and oil. Microwave on High 1 1/2 min or until choc. melts. Stir in peanut butter. Pour mixure over cereal. Place confectioners sugar into gallon-sized storage bag. Add caoted cereal and close bag tightly. "Shake, shake, shake.... shake, shake, shake,... shake your boo-tay" and the bag too so the cereal becomes thoroughly coated with sugar. Refrigerate or leave @ room temp (whichever is preferred) in airtight container.
drinking: Vanilla Coke
eating: nothing...... I just had supper at two this morning (central time zone)
listening to: "Sit Down" by Common Ro over and over and over and over...... ( boys-it better be on the new album!)
wish I was: getting a BIG hug from Adam and never being let go (I'm in a very huggable mood this weekend-and after my night at work last night- I need one)
soon will be: probably working on some more of my FanFic or my new play or posting............
I think I've caught up with everyone... I hope..... Well all that's left is... *BIG GROUP HUG TO EVERYONE!*
Stef, great site! I am in awe of your talent I am still learning photoshop. Just got a new mac in August and finally found a free trial of PS 7.0 for it. I am taking classes in Photoshop and Ilustrator at school next semester, working towards my AAS in multimedia right now. I think I kinda wannna redo my whole site, but I haven't decided what to do with it yet... but I will definitely add your troika, adam, and tom sites to the links on my GLJ page
