Cowgirl - There are a few of us dressing up. It's Halloween afterall! Provided this IS the Halloween party, I'll be there dressed as Velma. TB will be Daphne.
The trick will be getting my hair (mid back) up into the short shoulder length wig I bought. Braids'll do it.. but man I'll be recruiting help to braid it.

I think that would be soooo cool if the guys dressed up! Like seriously! LOL I'd love to see that. And I don't know if I'll be dressing up. We'll see as the date draws near.
Apparitions fill the air
Ghosts and Goblins gather there
To do the Transylvania Two Step!
"Two steps forward, one step back
Then turn to your partner dressed in black,
and shake their head like a maniac -
And that's the Transylvania Two Step."
Briel - Buy a Scooby Doo outfit and be Scooby! You know you want to!
And yeah, it'd be cool if the boys dressed up. I'd like to see Adam as something greasy.. a slime ball type of guy. Maybe a used car salesman with slicked back hair so thickly coated it drips. hehehe. And Eric would be awesome as an Elvis wannabe. I can picture the pants on him. Mike could be a country bumpkin. Hat, overalls, piece of straw hanging from his slack mouth. GRIN And I think the prof. would make an excellent Devil.
Of course, these are just off the top of my head.

H.G as someone who spent 1000 hours in school for this sorta thing here is some advice. Cut it (just kidding) Get some old fashioned rollers (you know the kind you need clips to keep in) roll your hair underand clip close to your scalp. I would suggest the velcro ones only I know they wont stay put for a gig LOL. I recommend using 2 clips each roller to keep it in place.you shouldn't need more then 4 large rollers maybe 5 if your hair is really thick. Do it when your hair is dry. Then get a boars hair brush (or the plastic immitation bristles) and smoothe your hair so you have no seams. If some pieces come loose doing this use some pins for the stragglers and then get some aquanet (yeah the stuff a lot of us used in the 80's) and spray away!
If you have a lot of hair (volume) Make a low pony tail and tuck it under securing your hair with strong barrets. You may want to opt for this method instead seeing as how a lot of bouncing and dancing may drop the rollers. Braids are ok but do you rally want to mess with that when the pony tail method is quicker and you get that nice bowled bottom similar to cartoon Velma's hair? Besides if the pony tail drops from the clips you can fix it in like 2 seconds as opposed to redoing a braid or fixing a roller.
I can't believe you think I should be Xena, HG. The horror of it all. The leather, the metal, the absent sidekick ... the roots that would show in 4-6 weeks!!
does not walk, but RUNS away
psst, ok so the leather wouldn't be so bad, and Ooh! I know a certain person who has reddish hair on this board who could be my siiiide-kick. :D
Dana - I didn't post the Xena bit - Tavern Wench Tamz did. Although, she did have a point. You would be a good Xena.
You know, the show Young Hercules was far better. The dude (I'm in a 'dude' type mood) who played Jason was cute. Although, the "Hades" actor on both Xena and the regular cough yucky cough Hercules was kinda hot too. And then you've got "Daniel's" actor on Stargate: SG1... and "Dar"'s actor on Beastmaster.. and "Zach's" actor on Dark Angel - well, before the writer-gods rudely wrote him off the show and.. err.. Sorry, got side tracked.
Acutally, I have only one tv show these days. Amazing. (though I watched two or three episodes of Undressed w/ AJ 'cause there was this guy on the show that made me drool)
Mind you, the one and only reason to ever watch anything is for eye candy.
L I'm joking. Kinda. Well... I'm the first to get annoyed at the whole 'sex symbol' media image thing... and yet.. as evidenced from my tv viewing history... I fall for the same damn stuff. Dang. Although, what does it mean when I think Wil Wheaton is cuter than Brad Pitt?
Ack, still on a tangent. Where was I? Oh yes, Dana, Xena is good. You should be Xena. But early edition Xena - when she was tough and not all "oh-look-I'm-a-mommy-and-I-am-now-too-mommy-like-to-fight-well-sorda" like. And in my own world, that made sense. :P

*"Although, what does it mean when I think Wil Wheaton is cuter than Brad Pitt?"*
It means you apparently don't like Brad Pitt any more than I do.
but still probably not gonna happen. kinda hypocritical of me to go around as a warrior princess when i don't even let jack watch or play things like pokemon/digimon/spy kids/any other stupid non-educational cartoon violence show .... there. got off on my own little tangent.
really better start thinking seriously though cause with that wedding coming up the big 'H' is going to sneak up on me and that's one holiday you want to be prepared for, lol.
Shelly are you saying you can't picture me as Xena? ....... thank you thank you thank you. lol, maybe if you had known me in my beat on my guy friends phase from junior high on through high school ... huh? what? no. that wasn't me. er, nevermind.
Shelly - hehe. Hey, Brad Pitt was cute in Interview with the Vampire and in Thelma and Louise. But yeah, he's not even in my top ten favourites.
There was, however, a hottie I saw tonight who apparently works on the set for the show "24" out in Woodland Hills this evening who very well might rank in the top 15 (still higher than Brad Pitt's rating - if I actually took the time to rate the guys). Mmm.. Nice.
Dana - You don't want to be Xena? laughs I won't force you... not that I could if I wanted to.
~Hacker Groupie
BTW.. WAY off topic - but am I the last to know about the filming of "Cat in the Hat?" Apparently they are building the set out in Simi Valley. And why The Cat in the Hat - Green Eggs and Ham is way cooler, Sam I Am.

Dana - no, can't really picture you as Xena. That outfit is all wrong for you, first of all. Heehee.
HG - yeah, not really a Brad Pitt fan. Although, I liked him in Seven and Ocean's 11. He was good in Interview but Christian was my favorite in that movie.

Forget Xena then Dress up as a Dominatrix...oh wait the leather thing...
How about Ginnine from Ghostbusters Heehee
Or The Nanny or A pussy cat as in Josie Im having fun with this...maybe too much fun
of nasally women become an option? lol, i don't think i could pull off the janine or Nanny voices to save my life. for that matter, let's throw in Janice from Friends, cause that's a voice you want to hear all night at a party.
Dana
P.S. And yes you are having too much fun with this, but it's funny. At least we are narrowing the list down from every option in the world. Ooh, scratch off any member of the Clinton family too.
ok, let me just say that Brad Pitt was the hottie for about, oh, 1-2 years right after Thelma & Louise. Seven rocked, yes, but mostly because of Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman (Gwyneth, yuck! gag). Legends of the Fall i can handle because of Aiden Quinn and poor little Samuel, but watch those two movies consequetively, and here's where the problem is: His crying scenes and anguish in LotF are identical to his crying and anguish in 7. It bothers me to no end, and I am not sure why, but there you have it.
Plus, he dated Gwyneth and is now married to Ms. Aniston. Then there's the facial hair ... which is ok to a point, but i mean, i have a loofa for dry skin, must he grow one on his face to that extreme too?
just call me HG's Tangent Understudy
where was I? oh yeah, why he is no longer on the top of the list (i don't have a list, but my friend Bri does and her criteria crack me up!) --- i dated a guy who was for the 2 years Bradie was popular would obsess over him and try to look like him. every now and then he still brings it up. *shakes head* nothing turns you off a guy faster than having your BF be more obsessed with him than any 14yr old girl at the mall.
i better stop now, lol. should maayy-be get some work done.

Tavern Wench Tamz - snickers Dominatrix? Oh yeah.. that's the ticket. Nothing like a little s&m or bondage to make Halloween fun!
I have this urge to call Dana "Scully" right now. Maybe it's a sign of what - er - who she really should be for Halloween.
Briel - I fell asleep during Legends of the Fall - twice
I'm not overly fond of the Brad Pitt guy - however "Fight Club" was fantastic and a movie I forgot to mention. And Edward Norton... mmm... oh, sorry, gotta clean up some drool here.
Scully .. er.. Dana - I have an UNDERSTUDY now?! Wicked!
Please explain to me why I signed my name to that last post rather than my 'name' - dear me. I must be tired. Or maybe just way excited about the outing my office is going on today.
That must be it.
Or maybe I'm happy 'cause Friday TB and I are going wig shopping. Yeah wigs!
And now, I leave you all with a song:
"I saw a dead skunk on the highway, and I was going crazy from the smell. 'Cause when the wind was blowing my way - it smelled just like the halls of old Rydell.
And if you gotta use the toilet - later on you start to scratch like hell. Take off your underware and boil it 'cause you've got memories of old Rydell!"
Yep I'm going as Daphne. I was gonna be Chun Li but I'm having serious costume issues plus HG here has been bugging me something fierce to be the ditz. Haha. She even got me an outfit. I can't believe I am doing this.
HG-you have an understudy and a kindred, too Twinlet like I reckon I like the Mike as Country Bumpkin idea and Ken the Devil? Hahahahahha and I loved Wil Wheaton. Brad's a cutie but Wil, *drooooooool city*, Ed Norton too
Stef-haha too cute. yes he can be a cracked out acct again. he just needs new shirts! No more day glow orange or yellow. Hear that Adam? Go for blue or purple
Dana-hehe but Xena is so wicked cool! You could be Faith
Tamz-I was almost thinking I could go as Josie from Josie and the Pussycats. There is a purple cat costume. But I reckon Aimer would be better in it since she's well a cat. And of course there will be pics.
So looks like I am a go for this gig instead of VLB. Vegas another time I guess, may not even get the vacation. Hmm, I'll know soon.
We need a Shaggy and a Scooby, any volunteers?

I LOVED the orange shirt on Adam. It was just so fun!
i think would be cool, is if the people from here who were planning on making it to the show on the 26th went with a masquerade theme. i have always wanted to attend a masquerade ball event where you don't know who is who until the end of the night or midnight or whenever it is that everyone removes their masks.
that would be cool for everyone to show up with some kind of mask, gather together, but try not to let anyone know who you were. and maybe have a certain song picked out and when that song ends you can reveal who is who.
lol
just some random idea that popped into my head.

Oh God... you all crack me up. Hm.. I think you all should go as the contents of a well stocked refrigerator. Who's the Milk? And someone needs to be ruby red grapefruit juice.
sobs
I miss my ruby red!! (AJ knows what I am talking about) hehe.
And Adam can't be a lemon bar. He'd do better as something nutty.
Not the ruby red! That was disgusting. The firemen guys were right to throw it out. It was evil! It was bordering on SENTIENT! I could almost sense its maniacal plans to overthrow our government!
Of course... A bottle of grapefruit would be smarter than our CURRENT president...
Fool me once... Shame on you... Fool... uh... but you won't fool me again!
Oh, my...
Okay, now that I've offended half of you...
YAY
Um...right. HG and TB played Monopoly with me tonight... Wow.. HG and TB played with AJ... sensing a theme here? Yeah. And I lost.
So I gave HG all my property... and she STILL lost... Hmm... And I had a LOT of property, too... ::Lost his faith in her. But not Faith, The Vampire Slayer. Cause she's evil. And tried to kill Xander. And that's bad. Yes.:: Um... Right. And it's three thirty in the morning, and I have no business typing. I hope this makes sense when I wake up later. Assuming I go to sleep. Um...Right. I think I've made this long enough. And right. Okay, then. Gnite. Or something. Yeah.
AJ, who tries to think up clever signatures, cause he wants to be just like HG
LOL They are STILL at it... I think TB will win. L And TB is sick.. she should sleep.
Aj - The firemen didn't throw out Ruby. The stupid guys who were hired by my building to throw out the contents of our refrigerators threw it out. They also tossed my nailpolish AND my film. Grr.
At least my fridge is finally clean. Yeah! And I can use it at last... once I plug it in.
I only lost 'cause I sold most of my properties to Re for 500 bucks. And the green props to TB for 500. I was hoping to help the game end sooner. L
Which hasn't helped. And I'm tired. And I need to go to Burbank tomorrow to get my freaking car fixed. And hang out all day at the bookstore 'cause the place takes forever and a day to work on the car. Wee. I'll read. I like to read. I'm tired. Why oh why won't the monopoly game end?
Oh look. Re is winning now.

I JUST found out about the "What Is The Payback" bit after Dancer on the CD a couple minutes ago and I've had it since thursday. Why did nobody tell me about that?? It is so funny!! lol
(((r a c h e l)))
as Peanut Brittle. Hehe nutty enough for you guys? Or better yet a Payday. No scratch that, that wouldn't be good because I'd be following after him moreso than I already do and probably end up chomping off an appendage or something...I love Paydays!
Dana-a Lemon Bar? Hehe I like that idea
Shelly-yeah I'm disturbed by people dressing up as pastry myself. Keeps putting that "you are what you eat" commercial in my head where the woman has a donut and then has a massive donut shaped ass. Ya know the one that takes place at the Subway station? It's a commercial for slim fast bars. With good reason actually.
Dana2-on second thought maybe Apple Streudel is a good idea.
Tamz-see my nutty suggestion above
AJ-you are weeeeeeeeeeird. I like you.
HG-the game finally ended but your sis cheated. I was winning way before hand too. Next time, don't gang up on me! Grrrr.
That Monopoly game was seriously baaaad. Not getting into a game like that again.
On the good side of things we did find all the pieces to my costume. I will be Daphne at the show. We need a Fred, Shaggy, and a Scooby! And hey I even got purple numbchucks

Dinner is almost ready. Yum. Alphabet soup. This is much goodness. Then I'll go back to watching Highlander: The Series. Haven't met Peter Wingfield's (le sigh) Methos character yet. But at least "Tessa" is dead. We didn't like her. And yes, I still cry every time "Darius" dies on the show. We loved him. And we think it's majorly depressing to know that he only died on the show 'cause he died for real. Dammit.

Tamz - Discounts, eh? How well you know me. I'm a sucker for sales. This is why, of course, I spent 630 dollars on my new futon as opposed to 320. See, the 320 was the Sears regular rate. The Futon Shop, however, had their futons on sale
hehehe.
Somewhere in my addled brain I figured that sale meant cheaper... but you know, the futon I bought IS way cute.
I will try to come. Cannot give any promises. I'm still trying to figure out if my budget allows me to drive back to Oregon for Thanksgiving. I love to fly, don't get me wrong, but if I take my car I can bring back more stuff. I still have boxes of things at my mom's house in storage. Great things.. like the Star Trek action figures I was obsessed with (in secret) in high school. Yes, I was a closet Star Trek geek. Yes, I'm still a geek. :þ
And of course my super nifty trek phaser is at home. I mean, it could come in handy, if my home was ever robbed by Trek geeks who happen to be afraid of plastic toys. It does make cool sound effects.
Also have this urge to get my trunk o Barbies. I was the Barbie Queen of the World, dammit. Although, my barbies didn't survive my childhood nearly so well. In fact, several of them are quite haggard. I played beauty school with them. Gave them hair cuts.. attempted to curl their plastic hair with a curling iron... (and yes, their hair DOES melt)
Hmm.. I've managed yet again to fall way off topic.

Ok Im a geek...See with Barbies I used give them crew cuts, put them in GI Joe clothes and blow them up with fire crackers...then in my early 20's I started collecting them LOL I have like 3000 worth of NRFB Barbies. I bought some cheapie ones and gave them boil perms and gave some hair plugs to give them streaks. Anyway....
OH MY GOD! That's so perfect! Tavern Wench Tamz - you have totally got your costume now. I'll expect to see you at the show IN that. I'll even bring a ruler with so that I can smack you on the hands if you forget... or purposefully forget.
GI Joe Barbie? Dear me! You're much worse than I was. I played GI Joe with friends (who were boys) and was frustrated at the lack of cool female characters. So all of the ninja joes became girls. They were tougher than Charlie's Angels!
But my heart belonged to Barbie. Barbie and The Rockers were the coolest thing to me.
Hehehe.

Jem! Oh heck ya...but I liked Transformers and Thundercats more. Sorry
I cant go to the show dear...Im 3000 miles away and gotta save money for PBP and got all this C.R.A.P. to plan...Plus holidays coming...two kids..nope not traveling cross-country just yet.
Call me Tom-boy Tamz...I think I had one girlfiend until like 7th grade. The rest were all boys.
Wrestling, tackle football, bike polo, fist fights..I was one of the guys...
A girlfiend? I always knew girls were no good, but I never guessed they came in THAT variety. Um. Right. So we watched Buffy tonight. Which was good. Except there was much Dawn-ness... Which was not. And ADAM was in it! (See, don't you like how it all ties together? So I'm not TOTALLY off topic, you see)
Although, maybe... yeah. In lighter news, I replaced the lightbulb in my bedroom... :ause for canned laughter:: Um right.
So now I'm sitting here trying to figure out what I'm supposed to say, since the entire point of this post was to point out a typo... Yes. I need a life. That doesn't involve Trader Joe's. Cause. Yeah. Um. Although, I got a giant bottle of water for 64 cents...
Except, when the clerks start to recognize you ELSEWHERE, you know you come in too often. Right. Because you ALL wanted to know that. um... Okay, I'm finished now.
AJ, who wishes he could be a vengence demon so he could turn people into frenchmen
But Tavern Wench sounds sooooooo much better! I think everyone can agree on that. hehe.
Thundercats I liked, and I can only vaguely recall watching Transformers.
But Jem... that was special. And those fantastic After-School specials. They were addicting...
Never did the guy stuff as a kid. I went through my 'moods' though. For half a year in high school I wore only black, dyed my hair black and worshiped at the altar of Metalica. Would you believe I went from that directly to listening to oldies on the radio? heheh. I was warped.
But I was one of those drama brats who felt it was perfectly within the norm to be warped. I'd skip classes so that I could sit in on more drama classes. The big red velvet couch in our annex theatre was my second home
Aj, Aj, Aj... You are soooo off topic. You should be banned from the forum. After all, we are ALWAYS on topic. air kiss
Yep, Adam WAS on Buffy, I should know, I watched it with you. But that wasn't the bestest bit.. no, the bestest bit was watching the yawn Haunted show after it and remembering our dear Cam-your-not cartoon (read: "Quest for Camelot"). Where some freakazoid lumped Blind men, Gimpy Conjoined twins and women into an evil plot to steal our souls. Or not. And the dude on that Haunted show didn't even say "I see dead people" correctly. Obviously he doesn't watch enough tv or movies. I think Mike from Mystery Science Theatre 3000 would have been pleased with our conversation during (not really) Haunted tonight. We like Mike. We liked Joel. We think Kids in the Hall is better than Mad TV.
And there was no true point to this post. Which is good.

HG: Well it didn't help that I was the only girl on my block either LOL. Once in junior high I did the hair coloring/wearing all black/ listening to metal thing...it went right up to 11th grade! Among my listening list then was Metallica, Megadeath, Sepultura, M.O.D and the Ramones (giggle)
But all the while I still listened to Billy Joel, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Richard Marx, Heart, Meatloaf (My personal faorite) and so on...
Then a little over 5 years ago something strange happened. I was re-dating an old high school boyfriend who was home briefly from the Marines and he would make me listen to Garth Brooks, and Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill, and George Strait. I used to make fun of my mother for listening to "That whiny, dead horse, wife leaving crap" But it was different...there were no dead horses, there was some upbeat happy songs and I was hooked! I still listen to country (even tho my favorite station went bye bye)
Of course I still looooove a lot of the old music I used to listen to...any one want to "Pour some sugar on me?" you know "In the name of love"
We wont even get into some of the stuff my husband likes....
OMG! ::falls instantly and madly in love with Tamz:: She's PERFECT!
err...Except for that whole married thing... and the whole female thing... Okay, but... She likes COUNTRY!
::Is a californian social anomoly... I swear... everyone teases me... ::
Okay. So it was a short post. I can't be clever ALL the time. So we have to settle for never, I think.
AJ, who forgot to bring up CR in this post

Arky: Yeah well its no better here..Im in NY LOL
YEEHAAAAW!!!!!!!!!!
Ya know I breifly discussed country music in my drunken state in L.A. with Adam..I slipped up with a Tim McGraw comment tho. Oops (HEY I WAS DRUNK!!)
I love that excuse because the only times I have gotten drunk in the past few years was Common Ro related. So with PBP and the NYC/Baltimore shows thats a total of 3 times drunk 2 times sober (wouldn't ya know it I never talk to the guys when I am sober) weird since Im not much of a drinker. "shrugs"
*dies when she sees the price of Tamz's costume* 150 bucks! Damn woman, expensive Tavern Wench!
Amazing how this forum went from costumes to God Knows what. Haha it's the attack of Hacker and her groupies again. Including AJ. Haha.

Firstly.. I must say this... and defend my good name..
Attack of Hacker and her Groupies? Why does that make me think "Attack of the Clones?" Badness, TB. Much much badness.
And I'm not at fault here. I'm innocent. I've been framed!
I'm a sheep, didn't you read that (on whichever thread I posted it). Bahhhhh. See? I FOLLOW others.. I don't carve my own path. I'm not superman!
Although.. I wouldn't mind the cape. The cape is cool.
snickers Tavern Wench listens to country....
snickers more AJ listens to country...
snickers more HG listens to her old friend's boyfriends lamer band (titled: *.FAT)in New Orleans.. "I'm glad that I'm not a snail. Thank god that I'm not a snail. Be a snail, man that would suck. Every time I had to go I couldn't look up. I'm glad that I'm not a banana slug. They're hermaphroditic - both a hole and a plug. When they mate they chew eachothers pen... " erm.. yes. And she knows the words to lame songs by them too.
~Hacker Groupie who is adding a siggy to her post. So there.
"This part isn't about me so much, and I'm bored already." ~Joss Whedon
Hacker-but I am one of your groupies. And what was wrong with Attack of the Clones? snicker I'm a sheep too. But I lead the sheep as well. We're sheperds woman!

TB - gushes You're a groupie too? Ahh.. I feel so... loved!
The quote rocks. And it so fits me. You know. Cause I'm all about me. I think. Yes.
There should be a TV show called "Everybody loves HG" And it should star me as the next door neighbour. And there should be like two girls and a guy living together and the guy pretends that he's gay so that it's OK for him to live with two girls. And then some short kid can come over and be like "Whatcha talkin' bout, HG?" And there could be this robot girl named Vicki.. or um... Tavern Wench. And I get a cape. I really like the cape bit.
~Groupie has Groupies. Aren't I cool?
Hey... I wonder.. can I bribe Adam and all to become my groupies too? Ooh.. that would be wicked. "Hi, I'm Adam Busch.. and I'm a Hacker Groupie.. groupie." Yes! fists air
Come on.. you know everyone wants to...

HG: thwap Country music is better than 3/4 of the shit out there nowadays...
"Yo I smoke a blunt and fire my pistol, cock sucking mutha gonna hit the ground cause Im a mutha who aint takin no shit from a guy who says hello!"
Blah blah blah blah
Oh and these typical "Boy bands" Crack Street Boys
N'stink etc...
Apple Jacks commercial said it all
"Why do boy bands sound like girls?"
So they get up there with there fancy dance moves and sing songs that are like everybody elses songs or ARE everyone elses songs? (Hello they all remake country songs anyway!)
heehee (lets get ready to Ruuuummmblleee)
Tavern Wench- Hey, I don't listen to N'Sync or Backstreet boys or any of that stuff. Though, I have been known to listen to Eminem.. because, well, he's talented AND cute.
Mostly I'm lost in Musical Theatre land.. or like.. listening to like ABBA or Violent Femmes or The Cure (drool on Robert Smith)... And of course, how could we forget NIN or Queen? I mean.. jeez.. classics.
Yes.. I have no reasoning for what I like. I just like it..
Robo pimp daddy all the way!
I tried looking for costumes for Mike, Eric, and Ken, but I don't know them all that well.
Pictures better be posted though, especially for us young'uns who are "too little" to go!
