I'm warning you - this is a little random. OK, so I was just commenting to Hacker Groupie that I think The Professor looks a little like Gideon Yago (of MTV News), and I thought, hmmmm.......

What celebrity do you think bears a resemblance to Eric, Adam, Mike, and Ken?

Eric - That guy who was on Caroline in the City as Dell. There's something about the hair, I reckon.

Adam - uh, I dunno, Fabio. Or maybe a less angry, banker-type version of that dark-haired guy from Linkin Park. "What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time I..."

Mike - He could be so many poeple. His stage presence reminds me of Owen Wilson's brother...what's his name?...aaahhhh! Anyway - or he could be Bob the Builder! Can we fix it?! Yes we can!!(Note to self: too much time spent with friend's children)

And finally, Ken - Bond. James Bond. No wait, I'm sticking with Gideon Yago.

The resemblance was called to my attention by Mike and Eric at my party in LA in February after the Hard Rock gig.

I hear them oohing and ahhing over the fact that Woody Harrelson's in the room. Since it was my hotel room, gullible me of course looked- they were just giving Rick a hard time. But lo and behold, they are correct.

In fact, when my friend Wendy (Ozlady for those who know her) came down to NY to see the guys at Lion's Den, she suddenly turned to me and said, "omigod, Rick looks like Woody Harrelson!" To which I replied, "duh." Her pithy response? "Why didn't you tell me?"

Gideon Yago would need to grow some muscles, and some height, but yeah, okay. I guess they do look similar.

And Mike looks like this kid I used to know in High School. I think his name was Chris. Chris hated me, I hated Chris, it was a lovely relationship we had. That was probably the reason I was so happy to see Mike with a beard at the last few shows, and thus not looking like that guy from high school.

You're dead on about Eric, but noooooooo Bob the Builder. He scares me. He talks to trucks. They talk back. shudders

The Monkees had wackey energy... and dude, I could so imagine the guys starting off with "Hey, hey we're the Monkees... people say we monkey around..." Although, I'd cast our boys ... Eric as Micky, Adam as Davie, Mike as Peter and Ken as Michael.

And I'd love to hear Common Ro perform the song "Mambo Italiano" - just because it's wicked cool.

Does anyone watch 'Scrubs'? B/c I think Zach Braff (he plays JD) and Adam should play brothers. Zach is very funny, and their looks strike me as similar for some reason.

I dunno, Hacker, Mickey is the "wacky" one and Davy is the "cute" one- I'd switch your choices. ie. Adam as Mickey and Eric as Davy.

Eric looks like Dell from Caroline in the City?! Seriously? I don't see it. Although with the curly blondish hair, big blue eyes and his nose, he sort of has a Paul Walker quality to him. Strong, sexy features. They don't looks alike, but they have similar qualities.

And HG - Mike doesn't look like Dr. Green! LMFAO you are hilarious! Poor Mike! Mike's a cutie... I just don't know who he reminds me of...?

Adam doesn't look like Fabio LOL, but the guy from Linkin Park might be a better choice. You know who Adam looks like, is his friend Derek. The resemblance is uncanny! I saw him at the shows in August. I thought he was Adam's brother at first! But as far as celebrities... I can't think of one.

I don't know who Ken looks like? I really can't think of anyone who looks much like any guy in the band. Not off the top of my head.

For some reason, however, I'll always equate The Bangal's "Walk like an Egyptian" with The Monkees.. I think they had music videos on before it.. and that played often. Ooh... date me much?

Hacker Groupie- Mickey was adorable. And an absolute doll. I have met him a few times, along with the other "Threekees"- have never had the pleasure of meeting Mike tho. Mickey hit on me once. Actually had to tell him, as he has quite a reputation for liking his girls young, that as I was old enough to buy my own drinks, I was obviously too old for him. He blinked a few times, smiled, and asked if he could at least get a hug. Davy has hit on me several times. But he hits on most females. Not one of my favorite people.

Oh, and I did not mean to imply that Rick was either wooden or a dummy in referring to him as Mr. Schneider.

And somehow I think it makes far more sense that he would dress in a merrywidow and fishnets as Frank N Furter than in a polyester suit as Mr. Schneider. How scary is that?

OK, really need to go finish this presentation on Strictly Ballroom for class tomorrow. Cause when I'm done, I can sleep!!!!

OK, Vixen & HG - I love you both! Fellow Monkees fans! Woo Hoo!! Yes, they are way better than the Beatles. Mickey was always my favorite, too. Although, I did go through a brief "Peter" phase. I've been to four of their concerts, and I've seen Davy perform at a summer fest near my house. The closest I've ever come to meeting any of them was at their one concert in 1989. I walked up to the stage & handed Mickey a rose. Davy thought it was for him and started to walk over to me. I shook my head and pointed to Mickey so Davy went up to him & sent him over to me. He was singing "That Was Then, This Is Now" and he smiled at me and I thought I was going to die. (I was 16 at the time, give me a break.) I try to make it to their shows every time the come here. I've never had the pleasure of seeing all four of them in concert, though. They did come to Chicago for their 30th Anniversary Tour but I had to miss it because of a friend's wedding. Bleh.

OK, I'm done rambling now. I'm sure that's more than all of you ever wanted to know about my Monkees obsession so on that note...see ya later!

I don't remember if I had any crushes on them. Probably not since I was only like 7 when their show was on. I do however, remember that my dad lent me and my sister a bunch of Monkees albums and we played them so much that we wore them out before we could give them back. He got pissed, but then he realized that we were just obsessive little fans.

Of course, we're all pretty obsessive on this board... I do, however, draw the line at getting a tattoo that reads "Common Ro 4Ever" or some such. That's just freaky.. hehe...

Don't mind me. I'm out of sorts today. Maybe cause I just had to spend three hundred dollars I DON'T have to get my freaking breaks fixed. Yep, I finally got them fixed. And now my wallet is laying somewhere in the corner mortally wounded. I'm pretty sure I may have to sell a few organs to survive the next few weeks before payday, but ah, such is life. hehe.

I'd offer the firstborn child I haven't yet even conceived.. but I don't think creditors appreciate it. Another mouth to feed or something.

But on good news. My breaks ARE fixed. No more squeally noise. But let this be a lesson to all of us.. when the mechanic says "fix the breaks now..." you should. Cause if you wait an additional month or so it'll cost you. This should have cost 175. But apparently I kinda did some damage to the car and had to have things replaced instead of fixed. Grr.

My skills at negotiating the price, however, are pretty good. Mechanic took pity or something and knocked 50 bucks off the cost for me. Yeah me!

I'm babbling. I should go watch Highlander.. 'cause you know.. Peter Wingfield (Methos) is hot.

I've only ever seen Adam and Eric so can't comment unless someone can tell me where I can find pictures of the rest of the band......

However, every time I saw Eric over the weekend he reminded me of someone. I eventually figured out that he looks a little like Prince Eric from Disney's "The Little Mermaid"!!! :D

I know exactly what you did to your brakes because my husband did the same to ours, only if cost us $400 to fix. I've learned it's best not to put off car repairs for to long. :/

Sara- I couldn't read any other posts after yours because I was so excited that someone else loves Scrubs!!! It's so funny, I think I laugh the entire time it's on. Adam and JD look alot alike because of the spikey hair. Beside the addiction to gel, I don't think they are similar!

There's just some weird similarity in their looks that I see...but even if you don't, wouldn't you love to see them playing brothers or something?

And I'm loving this Prince Eric idea...so who gets to play Ariel? And does that make Adam be Sebastian or Flounder? I'm voting for Sebastian.
