Being a relatively new fan of Common Rotation (downloaded Indie Rockin' last week :P), just wanted to ask a question... I know this band does a lot of live shows. But I've noticed they all seem to be on the west/east coast--do alot of you just live close by, or do you drive the extra 350 miles to see them?
I myself live about 400 miles away and drive down to see the shows whenever possible. Unbelievabley I have seen 13 shows in the last year. Only 2 of them were here in Northern California, the rest I had to drive to. My family thinks I'm crazy. But the music and the guys are worth it. You should try to see a show if you can. They are Awesome!

Well, I flew from Chicago to LA twice to see them already.
Hey Claire! I have seen them 6 times since last April, so wow, it's been a year almost.
First time in Santa Monica (14 Below).
Then in Chicago (small thing, very cool).
Then in California (City Walk)
Then in New York. That was awesome.
Back to LA for the PBP show and the Whiskey show in February.
And, I live in Illinois too, like Shelly. lol
I think part of it has been that I had excuses to be traveling, and the other part of it is I am lucky to be in the middle of the country, so I can kind of toss a coin and decide which way, east of west, I am going to go. The NYC shows, I can road-trip to, but not CA. That's definite flying, so it usually costs more.
Hope you get to see a show soon. Where are you again?
Claire: Welcome to the fandom and the message board. Glad that you think so highly of Indie Rockin'. I tend to attend the West Coast gigs because that is where I am located.
To Dana: I'm from Texas. So there's little chance of me seeing a live show I can't drive, and I'm having trouble getting to California this summer... But they're going to Europe anyway I think.
I live in Phoenix Arizona... a good 6 hour drive to LA usually, turned into 8 hours last time we made it... we usually drive out to LA for the weekend shows when we can spend a day or two... and I also saw them at the PBP... my first CR show was here in Phoenix, when they opened for TMBG at a club in Scottsdale... then shortly after that we drove to LA to see them at Citiwalk (and attend Aimercat's b-day party) and we drove out again in January for their show at the Knitting Factory... and in Feb at PBP and The Whisky... there might be more in there somewhere but my brain can't remember... they are definitely worth the drive! Make sure you d/l the union maid song(s) on the main page of the website, they are awesome...
Claire-I live in Irvine (South Orange County) so whenever there is an LA show and I can get the night off from work for it, I drive up and either crash at my Parents' place in the valley or with Hacker Groupie. It's only about a little over an hour, outta traffic. Totally worth it for Co Ro Goodness.
And now I've been to 14 shows. The next two coming up in LA will make 16. No I'm not obsessed. Much.
I'd love to fly out for a New York show. And if I had the money or the time off from work I'd be there in a heartbeat. But alas, I have neither. Meh.
Oh and welcome to the madness! Hope to see you at a show sometime hun

I, unfortunately, live in Virginia and have never been farther west than Iowa or farther North than Pennsylvania. I suppose if I had a can of mace I could hitchhike up to NY, but none of my friends look enough like me to stay here and pretend to be me.
Either that or one of these days I could invest my money in something like plane tickets instead of sketch books and toys for the ferret. THERE'S a revolutionary idea...
Why not hop skip and jump up to PA for the show this Wednesday? That isn't too far from you is it? If I thought I could get there and back in time for work etc, then I would. But then, I'm a bit off my rocker at times.
I know for some of the fans out there it is hard to get to one of their shows, so hopefully they'll be branching out a lot more soon!
I live in NY and have seen them
4 or 5 times in NYC - I think I killed a few brain cells this weekend. (lol) I know I missed the one after X-mas, but Vialle caught that one and brought me in spirit. (lol)
1 in Chicago
2 in Hollywood/LA
1 in Vermont
OK, they really need to get out HERE on the EAST COAST a lot more! Matt...guys...I'm begging over here and it's gettin' ugly.

I actually considered that, but there's the matter of school, and since I'm a junior and the year's almost over I can't afford to miss any more than absolutely necessary. o_x
TB: Irvine... it's nice. At least the Irvine Marketplace and Spectrum. If I still lived in Cali (or, had known about CoRo when I lived there), I could probably sacrifice a trip to LA ;_; <- tears of missed chances
Anyone who's been on both coasts to see shows: Is there any difference between an East Coast show and a West Coast show? Maybe the question sounds kind of stupid... The only time I'll be on the East Coast is in August for camp up in Boston. And is there any reason why they only stick to the coasts?
Sleepy Ferret: You buy toys for your ferret... That's sweet, I practically neglect my guinea pigs :P
