Stupid Question

I was wondering having only just recently heard of the band and having only seen them play the Whiskey show, what is the deal with Rick Birmingham? I know now that he is not a band member cause well he is listed under additional musicians on The Big Fear, does he usually play with the band at gigs or was this the first time? Do other musicians sometimes play with them at a gigs?

Rick plays with the guys occasionally, but only on the west coast I believe. And his appearances are pretty random and sporadic, I believe. But I think he usually plays with them when they have bigger shows, i.e. the Whisky, or 14 Below. hehe Rick's cool. grin And I think he's the "additional musician" who plays with them sometimes....but I just woke up and I'm not going to read back what I just wrote, so if it's garble, just ignore me. :D

That's not a stupid question. Rick still lives out east, so I think he performs with the guys most often when they have shows there. I don't know his status as an "official" band member, but ... there is video around from a few years ago and he is in it. I would consider him official, just not always there. Lame, I know.

As for other musicians performing with them, I went to a show in NYC at the Lion's Den, and Rick was there as well as Jordan on trumpet (from Rainbow Trout) and someone on sax (sorry! Chris, maybe?). Also, Naaman has performed with them at least twice that I know of, CityWalk and I want to say 14Below, but don't quote me on that.

I think Rick does shows with the full band whenever he can, but you'd have to ask him to be sure.

Either way, I love the element he brings to the music and performance - the foursome are awesome, and each element added on the stage just seems to make the shows even better. IMHO. :p

Dude, like, that was totally explanatory!

Of course, those are just the facts as I know them in my little world here. And you know how sometimes people live in a world that does not resemble the rest of the world?

"You're logic does not resemble our earth logic."

I haven't had the experience of hearing Rick, perform with the guys yet. I say yet cuz well you never know.
I think he must be a very cool guy though as every one on the board seems to think he's awesome.

Oh,its' awesome! that all the band members will be in the UK. Looking forward to that.

You see, Rick is alien by birth and his intergalactic working papers haven't been processed yet, so that is why he has "additional musician" status on The Big Fear album.

Sax at the Lion's Den was courtesy of Aaron who also plays with Rainbow Trout.
