Alexi Murdoch plays at 11pm. He's super awesome, you should all come early for him. And beware that he'll bring in a big crowd.
I'm very excited for this show. They haven't played LA in 3 months!!!!!!!!

So how was the show people? I've heard nothing. What time did they start? What did they play? Wish I could have been there or heard a song or two. I did hear Ken was there so that's great. I'm sure everyone had a good time.

Just a quick FYI that I took some photos at the show and posted three of them here. If they disappear from the main page, the permanent link is here.

Given Signs (All thought they did not sing this one!)
I don't understand what that means. Please explain.

Jo Ann~ I was a bit confused on that one too. So I asked Sydney since she was there and she said that the song was on the set list but that they didn't play it. The person who typed that post out probably meant to put "although they didn't sing it". I told Sydney that they should have said "play" instead of "sing" because in my head I thought "Oh, they did Given Signs without the words?" And to that she replied "only you Briel!". Hehe

The Hotel Cafe show was great. Fun was had. The crowd was appreciative, with a mix of friends, fans and new folks.
A standout point - the percussion arrangement for Offstage Lines. It was phenomonal, Professor Ken.

Oh man, Offstage Lines was indeed magnificent. I'm glad they're having Ken do some solo-ish percussion stuff. It's very cool. And his box fascinates me to no end!

I was fascinated by Ken's box as well! I was told that it's called a cajon.
And then, of course, my mind went into the gutter.
"Doesn't he need two, then?

ROFLMAO! I wasn't even thinking that before you said it. Thanks for corrupting me Jo Ann.
Back on topic, I really love Ken's percussion equipment at the shows these days, I can imagine it's much easier to carry all over the country in an SUV!
