The Bakersfield living room show last night (Sept. 1) was wonderful. Thank you Peter and Krista for hosting it.
The audience was smallish (about 20-30) but very appreciative. It seemed like a good portion of the people there had never heard Common Rotation before -- it seemed afterwards like all of them are planning on seeing Common Rotation again
Anyway, in the spirit of full disclosure (and because I see nobody else has posted this), the set (as I recall) was:
1. Eric enters solo, playing Dancer
2. Adam enters for True Hollywood Romance
3. Try Too Hard
4. Jordan joins them on Everything Under the Sun
5. It's Not My Birthday
6. I've gone blank on the title -- verse contains "Step on a Crack"
7. Belfast (with Eric and Jordan doing the dueling acoustic guitar thing)
8. Heaven Help Me
9. Gone Dyin'
10. Did a Verse End?
11. Karma Chameleon
12. Indie Rockin'
13. Have Pity on the Working Man
14. Afterthought
I've only been able to go to two living room shows so far, but I think they're great -- great natural sound, great sightlines, great mood onstage (okay, great mood on cleared floor-space -- you know what I mean) and you can actually hear well enough to have coherent conversations with people around you before the show starts (unlike a lot of clubs, where the between-shows music and general clatter is often so loud that talking is practically impossible).
Met some very nice people, too. Thanks again Peter and Krista -- and Common Rotation, as always!
