It is very nice. But with the two of them standing at opposite sides of the door frame and the great expanse behind them, they look kind of sad and isolated.
I hope the next merchandising consideration will be a Common Rotation calendar. Who wouldn't want twelve months of lovely pictures of the guys? I think six "action" shots on stage mixed with posed artsy ones would be a good idea.
Hey! It's September already! I need to think about Christmas gifts!

I wonder where that is? It looks like a convention complex or a college gym. I see N C E on the bottom of one of the flags and an M on another.
I like the t-shirt Adam is wearing. International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. It's also interesting that Eric is looking at the camera and Adam is looking off to the side.
And yeah, if they weren't leaning up against the door jambs but maybe standing straighter, or maybe leaning against the jamb with an arm up at shoulder height, they wouldn't have that big empty space between them. But that might be the mood they were going for. It's a quiet, contemplative kind of photo.

My first thought when I saw it was an aircraft hangar. Then I thought of the dockside sheds that in my home city have been turned into event venues and markets. I wondered who it was in the background, myself.
Since they've updated the pic, I wonder if they are going to update any of the comments. Hint, hint, boys.

That is a nice pic & I love the idea of a calendar.
It's like getting a prize in your cereal when you come to this site. Great pic.

Heh. I like that picture! I'm more fond of the description of the band, though:
"New York folk band COMMON ROTATION brings the protest song with an
uncanny knack for pop melody and highly engaging stage performance.
The band returns to the United Kingdom for a third time fresh off an
American tour with friends They Might be Giants. Expect to laugh.
Expect to cry. Expect to join in the revolt. Eric Kufs and Adam
Busch love you. "

The Troubadour picture has Adam looking very seductive! yeowzah
Anyway, I'm really gung-ho about the calendar. I sure hope someone's listening. My office walls need new adornments. My MacGyver pictures have lost their luster.
I love the guys, but the idea of a calendar terrifies me. Not sure why.

Calendars might be considered too commercialized for an indie band like Common Rotation. But if the photography and artwork is done well, it shouldn't be scary.
Wall posters, where their faces are two feet tall, that's terrifying!

How about just a single big pic with one of those little full-year calendars at the bottom? It's nice to see Jordan getting a bit of recognition. To me, he provides important depth to the music, and is integral to the band.
Aftertought: MacGyver???!! :P

Calendars
September 7 2004, 11:05 PM
It doesn't have to be a big calendar. How about one of those small ones? Then the pictures can be 4x6 size. That wouldn't be bad. It would be like having a little personal photo album. It could be photos from various gigs, like if they played somewhere in Jan 2004, have that the photo for Jan 2005.
Or, I even had one that was the size of a CD holder. That would be appropriate for a band.
And if you're worried about it being too commercial, how about having it for charity? I've bought many a fan calendar in support of a charity.
That Troubadour photo with Jordan would be a good cover for the calendar.
It nice to know from that Troubadour blurb that Eric and Adam love us. Or was that directed just to the folks in the UK? (lol)
Uh, huh. Point out the fact that we don't read the fine print. We were just distracted by the wonderful shot. Of course they'd have the proper attribution on the page. D'oh!
Thanks!

Er, although that shot on the main page can't be from the Green Room, can it? That sound like a club. Maybe another nearby location?
I really like the new photo. I like the color scheme and the layout. The faded green door. Adam and Eric wearing their usual "gig outfit" (brown jacket/t-shirt for A and plaid/western shirt for E). It looks like the photo could be used for the back of a new CoRo cd. Hint! Hint!
Is it me or does the first pic of Adam look like he is tellin' someone off!!! LOL!!!!!!!

Sweaty Kufs
September 10 2004, 3:18 PM
First time I saw them at The Bitter End, I was standing against the wall in the walkway towards the backroom. After the set, as they passed by me, Eric accidentally bumped into me and left this wet smear on my arm.
Years later, I've finally accepted the fact that these guys aren't going to be potpourri scented and Ivory soap clean after performing for an hour on stage.

Well, I guess it's just me. I'm weird like that. They certainly wouldn't be human if they didn't sweat.
