I was just wondering if anyone on the board is going to this gig? I would really like to go but the problem is none of my friends know who Common Rotation are so are not very keen on going!
Hi. My sister and I live in Larne, in county antrim and we would love to go see the guys play again. We have the same problem, none of our friends know them. We met them at Collectormania at the weekend and they were so good. We sent them an emeil about the show in benbridge as soon as we got back but they haven't replied yet so don't know if we can go. We reaaaaaaaaaaally want to tho. Slight problem, even tho i live in Northern Ireland i still don't know how to get to banbridge from here. And i'll also have to swap my shift, i'm supposed to b workin on sat til 5.30. Bummer. But we're still gonna try!!!!! So where u from anyway? I'm takin it that you live here (why else would you want to come).

Yeah, i'm from Belfast. I e-mailed them today and got the address. I know how to get to Banbridge and plan on driving there and back on Saturday. I don't know where exactly in Banbridge the address is, obviously, since i don't live there!! But it's always easy to just ring one of the taxi firms in Banbridge and ask for directions!! If you are interested in going together e-mail me at flo1@hotmail.com to sort it out. Do either you or your sister drive? If you can get to Belfast then i can meet you and we can go to Banbridge in my car since I know how to get there! If you'd rather not then it's cool, don't worry. Just thought maybe it'd be cool to go together since I'm not gonna get to go as I won't go alone and you and your sister are finding it hard to go as you don't know how to get to Banbridge!! I'm not some weirdo or anything, and i do have friends, just not a lot who know of Common Rotation!
Anyway, e-mail me if your interested...

Hey,
I think i've convinced my friend Jonny to come with me but you two are still totally welcome to come with us. It's no problem to give you a lift, we're going anyway so it'd be no trouble for you two to hop in the car! It should be a great night of great music! The more the merrier!
Hope you are able to get off work

I'm going, I'm driving up from Dublin. If anyone can find any maps of Banbridge, please link me/email me! I don't have a lot of time to drive there since I have to leave Dublin late, and I really don't want to get lost and miss it, lol.
if that's any use. If you go to theaa.com and in the search box type 'route planner' it'll allow you to hit in your start point and destination and give you directions to Banbridge.
Hope some of this helps

I don't have a clue how much it is to get in. I think i read somewhere that it was $10 in the States so i rough guess may be £5 - £10. But like i said, that's just a guess. The information i was given was:
Host: Karla
Showtime: 7:30pm
Adress:
9 Laurel Heights,
Banbridge,
Co.Down,
N.Ireland
Now i don't have a clue where that is in Banbridge. But like i said earlier, i got the number of a banbridge taxi firm from the yellow pages and plan on asking them for directions once i'm approaching Banbridge!! lol
Well, i'm glad you got it off work and you never know, if you see two 20 years olds named Jonny and Laura you'll know that it's me!!

Will the taxi firm really give out directions like that? I never heard of that before, lol. I will need directions also. Can you send me the number of that taxi firm? Or does anyone want to swap numbers? I can only leave dublin after 4:30pm tomorrow and I am nervous of getting lost and being late... niannah @ hotmail. com
Also, in the US, people brought drink and there was food at the LR show. Is that the way it's happening here as well?

Directions
October 8 2004, 3:29 PM
Hey Everyone, it's Karla here the host of the Banbridge Living Room Gig, here are directions to my house:
If you are coming from Dublin, you take the third turn in to banbridge from the dual carriageway to Belfast, it is well sign posted. The road this brings you onto is almost like a country road its called the Dromore Road, you take the second right on this road (before the graveyard) onto the New Road, the estate is the first right on this road, you go up the hill and take the first left, and i will put balloons outside my house so you will know thats it.
To get to my house from Belfast you take the first road into Banbridge on the Dual carriageway and just follow the directions above from there. I hope this helps.
The donation price for it is £10.

Hi Karla! Wow! Last night was so amazing! I was trying to think of a good way to say thanks for letting us all invade your home to have the best night of our lives- but i have no imagination so here goes (in the only way i know how) "THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANK YOOOOOOOOOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUUUUUUUUUUCH!!!!!!!" You're such a lucky girl!!!
Our camera doesn't work without a flash and we didn't want to take pictures ( obviously... you said no flash and we wanted to respect that!) but if anyone has some good pictures it would be so great if you could post them up here or put up a link so that we can see them. Thanx again.
P.S. I don't know who the woman in the corner behind me was ( i kinda figured it might be your mum?) but anyway, tell her I said Boy George has NOTHING on her sings "Karma Karma Karma Karma Karma Chameleon..." Well done!

From Sue: Yeah, we haven't had a decent report yet on the Glasgow and NI gigs!

RIGHT! We need setlists, what they actually played, pictures and all the funny stories for a start, and then progress to the more intimate stuff like clothing, hairstyle, how many strings Eric broke and such. Keep it coming!

Totally!!! .. looking forward to every minute detail lucky people!
Indidently I did actually, accidently, take a picture of someone's shoes! Follow the link for pictures http://groups.msn.com/CommonRotationGlasgow2003/shoebox.msnw, also managed to put up some from last year. didnt bother with living room pics though as ironically enough i was too close. Also, if someone doesn't beat me to it then I'll write about the gigs as soon as i have a minute to scan setlist etc, however I have a French essay to be writing so I'll be off.
Yep; I'm currently doing extra hours for the love of Common Rotation. And for the beauty of Jacques Prévert's poetry

Hi. Thought i'd tell you a bit about sat. night, although it all went by in a bit of a haze... i was soooo excited, floating on a cloud. The guys were a bit late, I think matt said that they had driven past the graveyard and hadn't turned right... oh well. BTW, sorry that I can't remember the names of anyone who was there on saturday, i hope you don't mind if I call you by names such as 'person on arm of chair' or whatever. Another thing, I can't remember what the guy who does all the filming is called, so that's another name that you'll have to add in there yourselves.
The camera guy was wearing a red long-sleeved t-shirt that he had on inside-out. I wondered whether i should say anything when another woman told him about it. I only caught half of the story but he said he knew about it, there was something on the t-shirt that might have been offensive and he wasn't sure what it meant or that it was advertising something (sorry about lack of detail)but the moral is that he had turned it out the wrong way purposely. I thought it was quite funny.
They took a while setting up their gear while Matt talked to the ladies who had been to all of the gigs that they had done that week. That's dedication.
When Adam and Eric appeared there was a cheer which then ended rather abruptly cos they started singin Indie Rockin' straight away. (appologies... I can't exactly remember what they were wearing... maybe some-one else will tell you. I think Adam was wearing a dark t-shirt with like a kinda green coloured pair of trousers... I know, I'm USELESS, but it's not my fault, i was in awe. He wasn't wearin' his glasses to start off with but he put them on later and he had less of a beard than at the collectormania party. His hair was kinda messy yet uniform cause he kept runnin his hands through it. Also, I think Eric was wearin a t-shirt with a shirt over it.)My moms yellin at me cos she needs to make a call but i'll be back soon.!

I've been noticing, in the latest pictures, that the guys have been layering their clothes. Chilly huh? That nice damp chill that goes right to your bones? And it's not even really that cold, temperature wise.
But I digress. They are all very handsome and talented men. However, Jordan seems to be the metrosexual of the group. Very nice!

October 14 2004, 6:20 AM
Hi again. My mom banned me from using the internet... the last phone bill was unbelievably high. So anyway, thanks for tellin me that the camera guy is called simon. My sister has just informed informed me that Adam's t-shirt was dark blue and had some kinda swirly silver/grey writing on it. He was also wearin' a dark jacket but then he took it off. I'd forgotten about the jacket, i just remembered thinkin 'wow, his arms are really skinny!'And , again apologies, i can't remember what Jordan was wearin', all black i think, but yes, very metrosexual!( I love adam's glasses btw, they are sooo cool, and eric has glasses just like them. Snap!)
This is where it gets even more hazey- i suck at this- i think that after Indie Rockin' they did Try Too Hard and then all collapsed onto the ground, or maybe that was after Sit Down. This made me laugh soo much, if I tried it i'd go right through the floor. It musta hurt tho, it was a hard wood floor. And then adam had to pull jordan up. Also, i think eric accidently hit someone with his guitar, or so my sister said. I would have felt priveleged to be hit by erics guitar.
I really don't know which order the songs went in... but i do remember that adam had changed the playlist and eric got slightly confused... SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE! I DON'T REMEMBER! Boo-hoo.
Adam said that they were asked not to sing anything religious or with bad language, So they were going to sing an anti-religious song. Adam said you need to find God first and then write the songs. He said that they had looked upstairs and out in the garage ( he then tried to say garage the way we would, but it was still wrong, cute tho!It came out more like gar-aaage.)He said they didn't find God but they found this song and played Heaven Help Me. Adam also said that they were going to sing a song about Belfast and that Eric had written a really good introduction to it. He said that it went on for a couple of pages but it was worth it. Then Eric said, in a kinda shy voice, "This is a song about Belfast." and they sang Party People/ Belfast. Hee-hee! We all had to sing the second "on" in the chorus (if you don't know what i'm talkin' bout then you need to go listen to that song again... go on... why are you still reading this?!)
Oh sorry... i need to go get ready for work... to be continued... maybe i'll remember more later... yeah i hear ya.... unlikely!

Yep... they fell down after Sit Down... sorry. They also sang Savior, the extended version. When they got to the bit about "You just stay in the Bar" they changed it to "pub" which was pure genious!! They also played played "everything under the sun" for Davina (they said that they had written it for her on the way there, even tho it had already been on a couple of their cd's. Davina said it was magic, and adam said "You don't think we could do it?" I know you could do anything Adam!!!) , "Gone Dyin" (where adam said about not wantin to bum us all out, even with all the slipknot t-shirts), "Pawn" (in which Jordan sang, got kinda embarrassed and started to laugh, as did adam) "Crowd and I", "It's always more than once before it takes" (I love that song, when they sang "would you be mine" my heart skipped a beat. It felt like I was the only one there... stupid, soppy and sentimental twattle, that's me!)... there was a song at the end that I didn't recognise, but it was really good. That's all that I remember. Boo-hoo. Why don't I remember more? OH! I do remember that between songs they were tunong their guitars and Adam laughed saying something about technical difficulties and "how embarrassing..."
When they'd finished the last song they headed straight upstairs. We hung around for a while, our parents had to drive from Craigavon to get us. Yaeh right mum, fifteen minutes?... more like 45! But it meant that I got to buy another cd and just happened to be standing at the front door when they all walked past to put their gear in the car. Eric hit my sister with his guitar (occupational hazzard I guess) and apologised profusely. Lucky b*tch! Then I saw someone at the door out of the corner of my eye. It was Aadm! He leaned in through the door and said "Thank you so much for comin to see us. I hope it was ok." I said somethin about them bein amazin and said that I needed to thank them. He said he was pleased that i'd enjoyed it and then said "So, how are you?" I said I was good (i'm so dull, i didn't have anything witty or interesting to say) and asked how he was. He was also good. Then he said we had to come and see them in Belfast in April. I said we'd definitely be there. "You promise?", "Yup!" "Really, you PROMISE?!" "Yes, I PROMISE!" He smiled and said and "Good. Well I'll see you then. Bye"
Laa-laa-laaa. Floating on my big fluffy white cloud with cherubim gliding past me again.
After signing lots of things and taking lots of photos thay finally got into their cars and drove away. So sad. I wanna cry now. I miss them.
Then I went home, fell asleep listening to "The Hotel Cafe, Volume 2, and had a lovely dream where Common Rotation had to live with me for two weeks, for some weird reason. It was cool though. We went to visit the Giant's Causeway! But you don't want to hear about my dreams, so I'll finsh now. I just feel that there is enough time to say "Sorry" one last time and plead for someone else to fill in the massive gaps in this tale. Thankyou, and goodnight... XxX... P.S. Commom Rotation Rock! XxX.

Just remembered... "Karma Chamelion", "Let it Go", "Bio", "Post Modern", and the last song was called "White City." Thanx Davina.
This gig was my first gig that I ever went to! I was blown away by how cool CoRo were live, and now I know how much different it really is seeing them live than listening to one of there CD's.

Tarien, to fill in some details for you I have checked my rather rubbish photos and Adam was wearing the blue t shirt that he is wearing in the photo on the Common Ro front page - Eric was wearing a red t with yellow writing (that I can't amke out cause of the no flash thing) can't see what Jordan was wearing cause he was in the corner where no light seemed to shine!!!!
