for those who may be disappointed that they didn't see Adam on tonight's episode, IMDB.com says that he will be in episode 4, "The Lonely Hunter."

I've been watching this show from ep. 1 and it seems to be getting better IMHO. It's definitely better than watching reality TV! Since we don't have cable at work, I can't just sit around watching my usual stupid movies on Sci Fi, so it's nice to have a network show that I know what's happening on.

I was looking for Adam tonight and didn't see him, but I thought I might have just missed something, lol.

as soon as I saw his name wasn't in the guest credits I knew he wouldn't be on but still watched to make sure. I bite my tongue when it comes to some of the acting since, hey, I haven't gotten anywhere yet but it does have its moments that interest me. Like little by little with each week.

Sorry, guys. I was just going by what was on tvtome. It's usually right. I should have crossed checked.

I was disappointed not to see Adam. I missed the credits, so I actually kinda watched the whole thing. It's a weird series, I think. Very soap opera-ish, with the devil thrown in. Not really my kind of show. Just waiting for Adam.

But it makes sense. Jayden mentioned to me that they usually don't include the pilot, soooo if you exclude the pilot, next week's episode would be EP #3, so to speak.

Well, I don't know if it's a usual thing. It was actually my mom's suggestion that maybe they don't count the pilot. Which makes sense! Because, honestly, Adam's not the guy you leak out info about appearances on a show in order to get people to watch. No offence to him, of course.

It might bleed if I bite it.

I meant the general populace who usually respond to Adam's name with a "who?" Of course people who already dig him are going to watch, but that's, unfortunately, a small few.

Well, I grant you, it is always "Adam who?" but when I say "Warren, the guy who killed Tara, Willow's girlfriend on Buffy" I usually get "Oh, the guy who got his skin ripped off?" So, at least some of the people I hang out with recognize him.

I usually get, "What is a Buffy?"

Anyways, I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, or any thing, Adam Busch is a fine actor. But when I think of him, it's always as Common Rotation. If it wasn't for them playing at cons, I would have forgotten he was in Buffy a long time ago.

Re: Adam on Point Pleasant

January 28 2005, 7:58 PM

why would it ever be a 'bad thing' that Adam is a good actor? it's never interfered with his work in CoRo so far in his career, he's always seemed more than capable of balancing them both. surely it can only be a plus that he's such a multi-talented guy who can attract fans with both his acting and musicality. i like him for his acting as much as CoRo. while he might not be a household name yet, the legions of 'Buffy' fans (the kind of cult programme that attracts real obsessives) will no doubt be interested to see what one of their favourite villains is up to on 'Point Pleasant.'

and yes, even though 'Buffy' is over, Adam's acting in it will always be remembered. i recall reading a serious, psychologically-slanted review of 'Buffy' that called Adam's performance in it "The best portrayal of a psychopath seen on television in the last 5 years.'

no offence to anyone, but i also think it's a generation thing - most people i know (late teens and 20's) watch/have watched and have definitely heard of 'Buffy.' so yeah - i can't wait to see Adam on 'Point Pleasant,' he's been away from our screens for long enough

Re: Adam on Point Pleasant

January 28 2005, 8:15 PM

I don't think she was saying it's bad that Adam is a good actor, I think she was refering to whether he's recognizable from Buffy.

And while, yes, Buffy does have a rather large fanbase, the fact of the matter is it's not large enough to make a significant ratings boost on any show. Take James Marsters appearance on The Mountain, it had little to no affect on its ratings. The only real exceptions to this rule would be Sarah, Eliza and Alyson who have created a niche outside of the shows fanbase, with their respective film careers

January 29 2005, 9:42 PM

Hi there. First off, I'm not bad mouthing Adam and/or his acting. I guess the misunderstanding can be attributed to my bad grammar and punctuation. What I was trying to convey was that it may be a bad thing that I have not been giving Adam's acting talent equal consideration as his musical talent. I'm not saying he isn't a fine actor or that he can't handle two careers. I'm just saying that when I think of Adam Busch nowadays, I automatically think Common Rotation.

Ok, Adam's gotta be on tonight (Feb 3), right?

Man, the official Fox site sucks. Too many graphics that you can't skip. The display is larger than my 15" monitor. They aren't previewing/promoting tonight's episode. Where's the cast info? Where is the production info? Where's the guest star info? Ugh! Fox sure isn't selling the show with this site.

From tvtome.com (let's see if they have it right this week)

4. The Lonely Hunter
gs: Marcus Coloma (Father Tomas) Adam Busch (Wes) Dana Davis (Lucinda)

A meteor shower sets off more than fireworks at a dinner party Boyd hosts; Logan's possessiveness and insecurity over Sarah's relationship with Boyd intensifies; Amber downplays things to capture Ben's attention; things come to a (beach) head at a party for Jesse, Paula and Christina; while Christina confronts a deadly admirer out to rid Point Pleasant of sin in "The Lonely Hunter" episode.

February 4 2005, 1:03 AM

Bah, just intro scenes with Adam, er, Wes. I hope he gets some good scenes next week.

Seems to me you can so tell this show isn't filmed in New Jersey. During a beach scene, the sun is setting over a blue ocean. The sun doesn't set on the Jersey Shore. The Jersey Shore faces the east, so you see the sun rising. And the water isn't generally blue, it's kinda gray or brown because of the silt in the water. Although I haven't been to too many Jersey beaches so maybe the water is blue somewhere.

Hmm. Point Pleasant is only 18 miles away from Asbury Park.

San Diego? Thanks for that. Little off the beaten path from locations near Hollywood, but I guess that's the point.

The first thing that came into my mind when I saw Adam was "Hey, he's not wearing his glasses." Which is funny, because I don't think I've ever seen Adam the actor wear glasses, but I'm just so used to Adam the musician with glasses. Except when CR sings "Sit Down", of course.

Well, I was very interested in the show when it was first coming out, but now I have to agree with Briel.... Things are gettting dragged on and people are trying to be over dramatic on a not so dramatic scene.... IMHO..
And seeing Adam for a whole 30 sec. in total!!!!!! YIPPEE!!! But, that's ok I hope the show goes on so that Adam can have some mula from acting.......

Watcher, Adam wore glasses on The Jury.

I think the show is terrible. The concept isn't so bad, but the writing, especially the dialogue, makes me cringe. Fortunately, I'm at class while it's on, so I have it taped, and get just fastforward to Adam's parts...

House is a medical drama about a Doctor who is an absolute genius and can figure out the most odd and obscure conditions and illnesses, but his personality leaves a lot to be desired with patients and co-workers. He's funny, cocky, and arrogant. I love the show and usually I HATE medical dramas. It's the only thing I watch besides 24.

I love Adam....but even for him I can't bear to watch PP anymore...the show is SO bad. My husband was so glad we had tivo for the 2 episodes I did tape so we could fast forward through most of it. Now if Adam did more than stand in the background and look at people, I might try suffering through it.

Now House is a great show. My husband is from the UK, so he loved Hugh Laurie (especially from the Black Adder series...it's nice to see him being something other than the idiot) to begin with...I just love the show. Hubby's annoyed that they make Hugh use an American accent instead of his british one....and we both love the jokes he makes about the brits.

I have to say I watched this show for maybe 10 mins. I thought I caught a glimpse of Adam Busch. Well, now I know it was him.

To be honest I have no idea what it's about. I think she is evil but she doesn't know. (I think it a strange story line) I guess I haven't seen enough of it to knock it.

Does anyone think that Adam Busch gets type cast becasue of his looks or what he has done in the past? I thought the character he was playing looked kind of geeky again. I guess I can't see him playing 'super man' but just a thought.

I don't really watch the show, aside from Adam's scenes, but from what I've gathered, she does know she's somewhat evil by now. I don't think she did at first? Who knows. The plot in general is very interesting, but the way it's written, especially the dialogue leaves a lot to be desired.

Adam's character isn't really geeky on the show. He's more like the inept minion than anything else.

I didn't see this week's episode, where Adam apparently made another appearance. But he wasn't inept in his previous episodes, although he was a "minion", I guess. What did he do this week to earn the "inept" adjective?

Re: Adam on Point Pleasant

I was actually looking forward to this show, but it's lacking in alot of ways. I'll try to focus on the good. The chick that plays Christina (yes, I've watched every show and still no clue what her real name is) is just stunning. She plays the almost-wannbe-evil very well. I lurve Grant Show and after this weeks ep I'm waiting for him to do a full on exorcist-dark-Willow thing when he loses his temper (as he inevitably will). That'll be pretty, though maybe not for Adams character if he's around at the time. And finally (yeah, I know) as for Adams character (what's his name? Wes or Wesley right?) I don't see him as geeky at all. Just on the verge of evil bursting out everywhere. heh. Probably several rungs up the ladder from that new boy that Lucas just hooked.

I do appreciate the added screentime for Adam though, very cool. Usually he's been in one, maybe two scenes and this one he was in quite a few.

...and now I've rambled on waaaay to long. heh.

Adventures in Wonderland that is all I will say :-[

One thing that really caught my attention in this week's ep is the sinister looks Adam's character often had so yeah, definitely not geeky.

Watcher - it wasn't from this week. It was from the week where they had the dance thingie. And Adam/Wes was taking tickets, and instead of focusing on why he and Boyd were there, he was getting into his job as ticketmaster, wanting to refuse someone simply for being five or ten minutes late. That's how I decided he was sort of "inept" in his minion-hood.

Is Craig David that well known in the States then? I didn't realise he was.

Craig David used to be on the charts a few years ago like 2001 and 2002, but not really recently..........

Are you talking about the episode that aired on Mar 24? I thought Adam was only going to be on 3 episodes. Is he still on? Damn! I need start recording it again.

I thought it was weird that initially he was supposed to be Mr Bad Guy's assistant but only appear on 3 episodes.

So, can you tell us what happened?

-----

Episode:

Jesse wakes from a dream where he’s desperately running from something in a Junkyard to find an attendant at the bus station jostling him, saying something about the next bus leaving. Jesse is visibly shaken from events in his dream.

Cristina carefully approaches Judy who is sitting alone on the beach. Christina tries to convince Judy about the fate of her situation and the battle of good and evil raging in Point Pleasant. Judy refuses to believe Christina’s mystical explanation and walks off.

Boyd is at his desk when Wes arrives. A loud electric saw is buzzing in the background clearly putting Boyd on edge. Annoyed, Boyd grills Wes about the noisy saw that he was evidentially supposed to “take care of.” Boyd explains it’s permitted construction, allowed between the hours of eight and four. Not happy with this answer, Boyd walks to the window. There is a man running a table saw over a large plank of wood in the driveway of the house across the street. Boyd stares at the man, his hand inching ever closer to the spinning blade. Boyd murmurs “enough” under his breath and walks away from the window. The man at the table saw grips the wood tighter as his hand continues to guide the wood toward the whirling blade. Wes begins to speak only to be interrupted by a loud change in the sound of the saw followed by a bloodcurdling scream from across the street. Boyd tells Wes that Christina told Judy Kramer all about Point Pleasant’s dirty little secrets, but it shouldn’t be a problem so long as the Kramers hold onto their doubts.

Judy and Christina return home to see Meg holding a shattered glass vase with blood dripping from her hands. Ben rushes downstairs to care for Meg’s wounds while she explains a strange turning sensation in her head that she attributes to the medication. There is a sharp knock on the door and Christina answers the door to find that Jesse hasn’t left after all. They walk outside, Christina glad to have him back, and Jesse explains he is unsure of what he will do next due to some disturbing childhood recollections. Jesse leaves and Christina goes back inside to sit with Judy. They watch as Ben loads up a syringe to inject Meg with some unknown chemical. Judy explains that her mother is getting worse, but Christina thinks it’s their fault because Boyd is in her head controlling things. Judy doesn’t believe that Boyd could be the source of the terror. Christina stands up decisively and says “I’m going to kill the son of a bitch.”

Terry is sitting alone in the dark at a kitchen table with the sounds of his dad’s EKG machine in the background. There is a knock at the door and Terry gets up to let Jesse in. Jesse inquires about Terry’s sick father and the red sports car parked out front. Terry replies with hesitation, offering little information.

Judy is pacing in the waiting room at the hospital when her Dad approaches and tells her that Meg must be brought into the city for an MRI. Ben explains the seriousness of Meg’s condition when she is brought in on a wheelchair alert, looking much better. Meg and Ben leave to go have the tests performed.

Christina and Father Tomas walk through a garden where he explains how going after Boyd could have dangerous repercussions because that’s exactly what Boyd wants. Just before she leaves Father Tomas takes Christina’s hand and tells her he cares about her, that’s why he wants her to stay out of Boyd’s way.

Judy is walking down the sidewalk when Boyd approaches her, calling her out by name. Judy looks scared and tells Boyd to get away. Boyd tells Judy he works for Christina’s father as Christina’s “baby sitter” and that Christina is nothing more than a confused delusional girl who is having a relapse of paranoia. Boyd goes on to tell Judy that the fate of her family is in her hands, gives Judy his card, then walks away.

Paula is walking down the street when Terry pulls up in a shiny red sports car. Paula asks Terry about the car and it turns out that it is Boyd’s, Terry’s new boss. Paula says she might stop by and see Terry tonight, then continues on her way.

Boyd answers a knock at his front door to find a very timid and inquisitive Judy asking what happens next if what Boyd says is true.

Jesse tosses and turns in his sleep. He’s back in the same dream, trying to escape a junkyard with a razor-wire fence. He tries to climb the fence, falls, then is approached by a man with a flashlight who says “kid, you’re bleeding, you’re bleeding like hell.” Jesse awakes to the sound of Terry’s dad coughing. Mr, Burke is awake lying in bed and shares a few inspirational words with Jesse.

Paula arrives at Boyd’s where Terry answers the door stunned at Paula’s beautiful dress. She walks in and immediately asks Terry where the wine is kept. Terry is nervous about having a visitor in Boyd’s house and tells Paula they can’t have a party.

Christina returns home only to hear Boyd and Judy plotting in the next room. Christina slowly walks into the room straight toward Judy and angrily confronts her about what is taking place.

Paula and Terry enter a darkened room carrying glasses of wine. Paula picks up Boyd’s jacket, which is slung on the back of a chair and tells Terry to put it on. Terry firmly tells Paula to put the jacket back but Paula persists and he slides the jacket on.

Judy continues to defend Boyd when he stands up to confront Christina. Boyd tells Christina that Judy is on his side and it’s all over. Christina disagrees, sarcastically remarking that her father must be behind this. Judy steps up from behind and plunges a large syringe into Boyd’s neck. He grimaces then drops to the floor.

Judy and Christina stand facing Boyd, still unconscious, his entire body belted to a chair. Judy is extremely nervous and still clutching the syringe when Boyd wakes up, completely coherent, but obviously drugged. Boyd says Judy and Christina have gotten themselves into a big mess and they will not last long.

Paula and Terry are still walking through Boyd’s house sipping wine and discussing Boyd. Paula keeps asking questions about Boyd, trying to figure out who he is. Terry confronts Paula about his love for her and asks her what she thinks could possibly ever happen between her and Boyd.

Judy and Christina continue to question the now very drugged Boyd, hoping to find some loop hole in his plan. Boyd says if anyone can kill him, its Christina, but she’ll kill Judy and her family first. He keeps repeating this with emphasis and it starts to anger Christina. Unable to stand it any longer, Christina yells at Boyd which opens a six-inch-long cut on the side of his face.

Meg is lying on a the bed of an MRI machine with Ben standing above her trying to comfort her.

Judy is scared and shaken at what she’s just witnessed, worried about what they will do with Boyd if what he says about Christina killing them is true. Christina confronts Boyd again, asking what she must do to stop him. Boyd says she should stop asking if she doesn’t like the answer, but instead ask what she really wants to know, about her mother. Boyd says Christina’s mother is still alive, but probably half-mad by now from having her child taken away, but they have no idea of her whereabouts. Boyd mentions Meg to draw Judy back into the room. Boyd goes on to explain that Meg is going crazy as we see Ben and the MRI technician watching a growing white orb radiate from the MRI screen until its blinding brightness shatters the technicians glasses. Boyd says that Meg has a special mind that knows too much so he shut her down because she couldn’t have her knowing more than he does.

Ben runs into the dark MRI room and pulls Meg out of the machine.

Terry is sitting by the fire when Paula approaches, taking his hand. She leans forward and kisses him.

Jesse arrives at a junkyard exactly like the one in his dreams. There is faint whispering, then a little boy runs between different piles of junk as a man’s voice calls out after him. It ends the same way it did in each previous dream, only this time he snaps out of his delusion to see an old man shining a flashlight at him. Jesse asks the old man if he remembers seeing a young boy there about 12 years ago who got hurt and almost died. The old man says he remembers a young boy back then but the kid most definitely died, completely bled out and was carried away in a body bag. Jesse looks shocked and shakes his head in disbelief.

Father Tomas makes a call to Christina and leaves a message on the answering machine as Christina, Judy and Boyd listen. Christina continues to question Boyd about what he knows. She insists that there must be information Boyd doesn’t know if he continues to push her. Boyd admits that Christina’s father’s plan is to see what Christina is capable of before she is moved on to bigger things. Christina having to kill the Kramers is just a trial set up by her father. Boyd continues to prod Christina about how she will have to eventually destroy Judy. Christina begins to get angry and the belt on Boyd’s neck starts to tighten. Christina’s eyes lock on Boyd as the belt gets so tight he can’t breathe. Judy yells at Christina to stop because she’s scaring him. Christina continues to gaze intently at Boyd choking him until Judy runs up to Christina and shakes her, saying “No, this isn’t how we win, this is how we lose you forever.” Out of nowhere, Boyd is suddenly standing next to Christina and punches her squarely across the face, knocking her to the ground. Boyd picks her up off the ground, grabs her face and tells her she is nothing but a scared and weak teenage girl, then throws her to the ground again. Boyd turns to Judy who is grasping a large kitchen knife and approaching Boyd. He grabs the knife out of her hand and holds it to her throat. He says Christina only gets to save one and asks if Judy is going to be the one. Judy chokes out a “yes” in a tearful spasm and Boyd throws Judy to the ground then walks out.

Terry and Paula are making out in front of the fire in Boyd’s house. Paula suggests they go to the bedroom, then realizes they are out of wine. Terry tells Paula to stay put while he goes to the cellar for more. Terry pulls a bottle out of the rack when something behind it catches his eye. He peers into the gap to see a handprint on the wall. He replaces the bottle and grabs one on a different rack then heads back up stairs.

Sara is alone when Jesse enters. She hugs him and is very happy to see him. Jesse however is not so happy. He immediately tells Sara that he went to the hospital and they read him his file. He was dead on arrival. Sara admits that what Jesse discovered was true and that he was dead for seven hours. She begs him to stay and learn what God has planned for him. Jesse leaves saying that only he can figure out what he will do with his life.

Judy is on his hands and knees, scrubbing the spot of blood on the tile when Christina approaches. Judy asks Christina if Boyd will be coming after them and Christina says not yet but he would when he had the chance. Christina thanks Judy for saving her from losing control the previous night. Ben calls from the road saying Meg is ok, but we see strange visions from Meg’s point of view.

Christina approaches Father Tomas’ church while a limo passes on the road carrying Boyd. Christina hears Boyd’s voice say “you only get one” then runs toward the church. Christina runs into the church and finds Father Tomas crushed to death under a massive stone crucifix.

Well, it's all true. We're cancelled and we're off for good. No new ep on Thursday... In a way I'm glad because Thursday's episode didn't quite come together the way I would have liked and I would have hated for that to be our final word. Eps 9-12 were going to be pretty cool, though. Lots of twists and scary stuff.

Anyway - thanks to those of you who care. It's been a bumpy ride for sure. If you feel inclined you can bug Fox studios to issue the season on DVD. I know they are thinking about it - and you'd get to see all the "lost" eps, which will be airing overseas.

Again - thanks for watching. We had a blast.

Well, damn.

Will we be able to see Adam from the overseas airings? And why do they get to be the lucky ones to see the whole season? I wonder what Fox will air in the US instead of Point Pleasant.

Thanks loads for the clips. Adam did look nice clean shaven in the last one. And he actually had a whole conversation and not just 2 lines or silent reaction shots. Or the ever popular "closing the windows" shot (What the heck was that about? He must have had a line or look cut from the scene). But Wes didn't get to anything evil. And we're not going to get to see if he does in any of the remaining episodes. Bummer.

This week Fox will show an episode of The OC and next week they will start to show the remaining episodes of "Tru Calling"

There hasn't been an official press release about the cancellation of PP yet, but the website is down already.

Don't know if they will show the complete season in the UK (wouldn't be the first time) but I really hope they'll do !!

Re: Adam on Point Pleasant

June 24 2005, 7:49 PM

I tried to download all the episodes he was in off of Kazaa (I have a subscription thing). Took a while, but I have episodes 4-8, and have had them since early April. I was so disappointed about when i heard about this show. My friend Justin told me to watch it, because there was someone on it I would know....but he didn't tell me who. And I had to work the night it aired and I forgot to set up a tape for it. Missed my chance for good because that turned out to be the last episode to air. :\

I have the worst luck.

I am sad it got canceled. It started off....well....I didn't like it all. I just fast forwarded to watch Adam's parts. But episode 8 was actually really good....everything was starting to fall into place for that season. But that's the problem with a new series....too much backstory and character build too soon and you'll lose the audience.

thanks for the clips but it is hard to understand whats going on but thats ok Adam does a good job anyway. Ever think he'll play a good guy again? He kinda hasn't been for awhile. Maybe he just likes being a bad guy on screen to offset him being a good guy off screen. They always say a test of true talent is not how well you play the good guy but by how well you make people believe your evil as a bad guy. nite

I was actually seriously disturbed by his turn in that episode. Because Wes was just a spineless flunkie....never really looked like he could be a really evil guy. But the second to last clip....I had my hand over my mouth and my hands were shaking a bit. I was so disappointed in Wes. All because of an evil girl telling you what you already knew.
