Well, how much do I suck? Not only did I mess up the link, but in my excitement, got the guests mixed up.

Apparently, Common Rotation will only be doing a musical performance, no Q&As. Here's the actual link for Alternate Universe Presents with correct info.

$40 for the show? Yikes. CR is worth it but not so much of a James music fan. Oh well, I'm sure I'll be there either way.

Hey, Terrie, can you swing by Philly and pick me up? Actually I think it would be cheaper to fly than to drive and rent hotel rooms for a cross country trip.

Hmm, a little over $300 from Philly. But it takes over 8 hours since no airline seems to fly straight thru to Sacramento.

Just for everyones information this show is only for people who are attending the con unfortunately. That kind of sucks a lot. **Shrug**

Well, considering that I messed up the inistial announcement, I'm just going to post the link to the website again. ALTERNATE UNIVERSE PRESENTS. If you require more information, you should email them. I'm sure they wouldn't mind answering a couple of questions. I can't. I'm not their official promoter. And I'll probably say stuff like, "Yea, Common Rotation is having a Q&A too! And there will be an ice cream sundae bar at the back of the main room for your enjoyment!"

Gosh - I just spent lots of money for Houston to see JM at what was suppost to be the only US con this year.

He's appearing at the Motor City Buffy Con, too, but only performing in concert.

Technically, the Houston one may be his only appearance participating in convention events, i.e. Q&As, photo-ops, autographs.

A lot of conventions that he's announced recently are just to perform songs from his new album, but I could be wrong on this...

Dude. Common Rotation should do a Q&A. I think it would be entertaining if not marginally awkward.

Re: ALTERNATE UNIVERSE PRESENTS

March 14 2005, 11:04 AM

It would be awkward considering it's a Buffyish convention. But then, I've heard people asking the actors some weird ass questions that have nothing to do with the Buffyverse or acting at all.

I would love to know about Cut throat. At what point did they realize that being musicians were their raison d'etre? Do they have day jobs or have they completely emersed themselves in their musical career? Where does most of their inspiration come from? Where do they find all their guest/backing musicians? What's the best and worst part about being on the road?

I'm full of questions. I'm full of other stuff too. But mostly, I'm a curious person.

Well, acting is Adam's day job so-to-speak. I can see Ken and Eric in their day jobs, assuming they're still doing computer networking.

Re: ALTERNATE UNIVERSE PRESENTS

March 14 2005, 4:17 PM

Acting would require Adam to make us believe he's "something else" like court clerk, evil nerd, some kind of apprentice.

As for Ken and Eric, I didn't know they were IT guys. My brother's an IT guy too. I get a lot of free "help desk" and computer/electronic stuff from him. I call him Super IT guy. Are Ken and Eric Super IT guys too? With the colorful tights and utility belt to go along with it?

Re: ALTERNATE UNIVERSE PRESENTS

March 14 2005, 5:23 PM

Well yeah i can see Eric maybe doing a job other than act or sing but I'm not seeing Adam. I wonder if having a normal job becomes a problem like fans coming to your job and getting you into trouble? Not saying Eric and the other guys aren't as talented just not as well known outside of CoRo. My job sucks so I couldn't see any of them working at my job. which is lame and sucks did i mention it sucks.

Information about the convention Danny is attending can be found here.

I'll be there. Too bad the others aren't there with him, it's a great convention. Fan run for 27 years and still going on.

I met Danny once at another convention and we chatted for about 20 minutes. Someday maybe I'll get to meet Tom.

Re: ALTERNATE UNIVERSE PRESENTS

Hi. I wrote down what the guys played at the show on Friday night for those who were curious:

How To Lose
Auctioneer
Indie Rockin'
Day
Gone Dying
More Than Once
After Thought
EUTS
Bored With The USA
92 Mikes
Offstage Lines (yay)
Belfast
Patients
The First Time
Wasted Words
Pawn

It was a fun show. Unfortunately they had assigned seats even though the guys don't like that for shows. But me and Syd stood off to the side on the left so we could dance and see the show better. It was a shame Adam had to leave early but having work is a good thing. It was nice seeing the guys. Eric left Sat. night and Jordan left today. Anyhow, we had a very good weekend.

Make them enter it at Tribeca next year, Adam! I need an excuse to go again.

the show was awesome, although all of the James Marsters fans were quiet during CR haha. I had a great time. Its great that Adam is doing a movie!! and with Mandy Moore, even better They so should have headlined, or had a seperate show from James, because NO ONE can follow the awesomeness that is Common Rotation (especially not him - no offense, or well maybe a little)

The consensus last year at Moonlight Rising was that GOTR should have opened for CoRo (and that was before anyone took the stage). The way I figure it, they'll never suffer from the comparison with anyone else they share the stage with and will always gain a few more fans for it.

Jordan's hair looks about the same, but I'm sure he's gotten a trim, it's been a couple of weeks since I've seen the band.

Re: ALTERNATE UNIVERSE PRESENTS

July 13 2005, 4:11 PM

Right then this will be a disjointed post because I am suffering with having to work and jet lag Cool

Sacramento
Edited down from my L J to avoid to many repeats.

I was about head along to feed my friends the ducks some bread when I heard a magical sound……..Common Rotation were sound checking and I danced outside in the car park……..oh it was good! All too soon they finished and Deb made me go and Queue.
Soon we were let in, we were in seats in the middle of a row, Bugger, bugger, bugger I don’t mind sitting whilst James is on(for no other reason than I am more used to sitting at that sort of thing, but come on guy’s this is CoRo! I look towards the stage, what it is with some woman and big hair, no offence meant here but really your hair size does not have to increase with each passing year. We had a woman on motor mouth duties behind us and another woman with chop sticks sticking out of her Barnet which I found widely amusing whilst JCB was on stage because you could line her up and pretend to catapult things at her (well it amused me anyway,it looked lovely by the way just a bit distracting!) and then I panicked, this is the only time I am going the band this weekend and I am going to be playing Catapults I explain the situation to Deb and Promise on pain of death that we will swap back as soon as CoRo had left the stage. I am a CoRo fan and would not have gone to this convention if CoRo weren’t playing whilst my sister Deb is a huge James fan and feels the same it all works out fine really….

Musically I thought the band were great and Eric voice during EUTS was ahhhhhh I can’t explain the woman behind me got the shut the fuck up look for talking during it!!! God I hate stupid people sing by all means, but it is really rude to squee about James in my ear!!! It was a very strange gig the audience was very quiet very little singing, I sung! How can you not? I tried to get out of the seats and stand at the back to dance, but have you ever tried to move people who are waiting to see James, not the easiest thing to do I can tell you! And so I sat and sung and bopped in my seat I was in a very happy place indeed!
And then they were gone : ( and Deb was over excited about James ,

James has been rehearsing and sounded really quite good, not as good as Bristol night one, but close second, it does him good to play next to outstanding musicians like Al and Eric it makes him up his ante so to speak.
I wanted to go and see the band, I wanted to thank Eric for the Union Maids they brighten my days, I wanted to buy a CD I had missing from my collection and I wanted a t-shirt . Deb wanted a fag and to go to the talk back, Deb won she has this whole weird big sister and thumb thing going on…! I again will let Deb fill you in on James, lets just say the man does talk charming bollocks doesn’t he! But as long as it is done with love that’s fine!

All over we head off into the fresh air, but not before I manage to embarrass myself once again…..We are walking through the lobby with me waving the cds from the talkback around You guessed it common rotation CD upper most with me saying “well what the fuck am I going to do with a signed CD? I could auction it on Ebay I suppose!” And there was Eric stood standing there, I couldn’t speak to the poor man now I was way too embarrassed!( I was talking about the James Cd at the time : )
We spent the rest of the evening corrupting Americans and making them route march around the car park whilst trying not to get run over by the very strange clientele that were leaving the establishment from the night club……
Saturday I listened to all the guests, and then because I never bother with autographs I made the stupid mistake of checking my phone……..Damn me for having a tri-band phone, by the time I had sorted out the panic at work, Deb was back, carrying a CoRo t-shirt that Eric and Jordan had signed (thanks Deb) I did see Jordan briefly on Sunday to buy the CD missing from my collection and to say THANKS ……..

So Thanks Common Rotation I think you made yourselves a load of new fans and I had a blast……..is it October yet?

Thanks for the pictures! I brought a camera with me but never took it out the entire weekend.

Eric's hair is poofy isn't it? Maybe he had fun with the in room hair dryer before the show.

My faves are 015, 025, 027, 037, 040. Is 016 the "I like cold beverages" one? lol

Random thoughts on the show was the odd clapping Adam kept harping on and them doing New York, New York.

In all of the squee, I totally forgot to get myself a new t-shirt!

Peace Love and Cheese

Common Rotation got themselves some new fans on Friday and the fact that CoRo CD's were handed out at the late night JM talkback can't hurt . Lots of people who had never seen the band before have made really nice posts praising them and saying that they are playing and enjoying their " free" CD's and even bought others . It's all good and will help to swell the audience numbers at future gigs

I noticed that there's an audio link for this set on coro.de but it doesn't seem to work / I can't download it. Is it just me?
