I haven't seen CR as much as some folks, but Jordan has always been there with Adam and Eric at the shows I've attended. Nice to have his name on the main site.

Hmm, are they going to take a new photo to show us "with"?

It's hard to think of a show without Jordan.

(somewhere on a bootleg I have someone in the audience says "it's all about Jordan"! Always makes me smile)

That's last year's Troubadour gig. And that voice you hear is the lovely Davina.

I miss Rick. I wish he still played with them. And of course I miss Ken when he's not there but he is usually at the LA shows so...

Yes Stef I agree I miss the full band performances from when I first started liking them so I change my previous statement to I miss Ken, Mike and Rick

I like Jordan think he is very talented but those full band gigs had just a brilliant vibe about them.

It's the "with" that makes Jordan all the more special. Much like "with friends", "with love", "with hugs", "with fries", "with whipped cream and a cherry on top", "with Jordan".

And y'all need to step off with the Ken and Rick love on the Jordan thread! lol

Peace Love and Cheese

I like that you chose to put "with whipped cream and a cherry on top" just before "with Jordan".

lol .. I'm going to have to swap the cherry for chocolate sprinkles to completely agree with the sentiment .. then yay! nice one Jo Ann

I have never seen a CR performance without Jordan .. and I hope it stays that way!

I miss Mike. Seriously. He was a great musician, and just an all around nice guy. He was always my favorite one to hang out and talk to.

well ... I suppose I could

March 16 2005, 3:35 PM

I could weigh in with my opinion, too. It's no surprise to those who I know personally on the board that I miss the shows with Ken, Mike, and Rick. While the smaller shows are enjoyable in their own way, and I love what Jordan brings to the stage, I think the most memorable shows for me will be the full band ones. Specifically, the one at the Bitter End when they had maybe 8-9 people up there at any given point. Rick, Mike, Ken, Adam, Eric, Jordan, Justin, and one or two more on horns ... I think that's right. It was the November 2003 show .. that's right. Hi Re! (Not that she's on the forum anymore.)

I feel like I am retiring in this post or something, but in all actuality, I doubt I will get to another CR show again unless it's in my state. Now this sounds like I am not going to try to get to a show just because it's a smaller group most times, but that's not really it. True, there's less of a draw for me to try so hard to get to a show, but it's not one thing that would keep me from seeing a show. There are many factors.

Oops, um ... Yay for Jordan @ the main site!

I miss the full band shows too! Those shows ROCK!!!!!!!! Back in the days @ 14 Below and the Knit, I haven't seen them at either in like forever. Jordan was at a few full band shows I went to @ the Knit. I think one time there were quite a few horn players there. Jordan was in a band called "Rainbow Trout" I believe and I think the other horn players were from that band. Boy, how I miss full on band, actually I wouldn't call it full on band, more like full on drums. The whole band is usually there in L.A. with the exception of Mike, but is he even in the band anymore? I haven't seen him in almost 2 yrs.............

I had only seen full band performances for the first couple years. It wasn't until I went out east that I saw the acoustic shows with Jordan. I like being able to see both, but it doesn't seem the full band gigs are happening much anymore. I just keep thinking back to the shows at the Whiskey, Hard Rock Cafe and CityWalk. Good times.

I MISS the Lovely Davina!

And the first gig I ever saw was MR03. I THINK that was a full band gig. Or it may have been a half-full-band gig. LOL! Yes, it had a great energy, but I'd argue that the Troubadour gig I saw last year more than matched it for energy. It was a fantastic gig, and everyone who saw it was priveledged.

The Whiskey now that was a good night The Big Fear CD release gig. That if I'm honest is one of my favourite performances having never been to a New York gig.

I agree

CityWalk was pretty good ... odd venue to be out in the open with people wandering by. But the Whiskey, that was great.

Sue - MR03 was my first gig too. I would consider it a full-band gig. The only one I had the pleasure of seeing.

I missed the City Walk one. And it was FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't remember why I couldn't go, and the Whiskey I missed too. My first one was May 2002, @ 14 Below. That was the day they came out singing "Rule the World" and blew me away and gained a fan for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Watcher! That's a lovely picture of Jordan...leaning against the wall, his banjo strapped on while holding a trumpet in one hand with his guitar on the floor next to him looking like he's about to get vocal!

Peace Love and Cheese
