I am a new CR fan. Got to see them play last weekend in Ypsilanti, MI at the MotorCityBuffyCon. Amber Benson actually sold me on her favorite live cd (The Hotel Cafe - 11/28/03) and told me it had 'Belfast' on it. The song listed on the cd is 'Party People'. After surfing around the Union Maid site for a bit, I figured out that 'Belfast' and 'Party People' are the same song with different titles.

Does anyone know the history of why the title switched?

On every set list that I have where they've played this song it is listed as Belfast. Of course that doesn't always necessarily mean that's the title of a song but I just thought it was interesting. I have no idea why they named it Party People on the live cd. I'm not really a fan of that title, mostly just because we knew it as Belfast first, but if that's what the musicians want to name their song then that's their decision. That's really cool that Amber sold you on that cd...it's a good one!

I don't know anything about why people call it Party People, but it should deff be called "Belfast". Tho i'm biased... i live near Belfast. Speaking of Belfast... PLEASE COME PLAY HERE AGAIN COS WE LOVE COMMON ROTATION AND WE MISS YOU GUYS. COME BACK!!!!!!!

As I live in Belfast & I am biased I like Belfast more than party people. I guess it's really up to the guys what they call their music.

yeah, i've always liked belfast more. it's just a better title.
