Re: 2006 TOUR DATES

I am THRILLED about the Knitting Factory. I missed Eric at the Beanery so I am in great need of a CoRo fix! I'm sooooo happy. Yaaay! (does sommersault) Can't wait! Can't wait! (bounce, bounce).

Lost my Big Fear CD That's ok, I'll just have to order a new one.

Re: 2006 TOUR DATES

January 9 2006, 4:46 PM

I missed Eric too. I should practice my aim.

And FYI for those going to The Cave...

Where can I park?

Good luck!!! Seriously, there are metered spaces along Franklin, Rosemary, and Roberson Streets, and you don't have to feed the meter after 6 PM. You can put yourself in competition for some of the lots in the area belonging to businesses which close at 5 or 6 PM, but this is not recommended for the faint-hearted. We suggest that you be careful not to park in tow-zones. (Oh, it's not all that bad! Tough it out--you'll get lucky!)

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. The Cave is canine-friendly to friendly canines. We have a water dish for them, (c'mon, you're not the only thirsty one!) and usually there are some doggie treats behind the bar. Ask your bartender for one! So by all means, bring your best friend. You should probably bring a leash, too.

Fair warning to those who have allergies!

Peace Love and Cheese

I go away for awhile and more new dates pop up everywhere. Anyone else on here going to The Cave? Parking is really not too bad... for Chapel Hill anyway. And Sadlacks? That's an interesting choice, and literally on NCSU campus. Parking there is also all meters... and from experience, towing is $250. :0 I'm pretty sure my littl'un can go to that one too. Wow, this is a major tour, here. I wonder if the boys have a name for it, like they name their set lists.

Maybe it's the 'I'm sick of seeing just the inside of my car/rental" tour. Ha!

The last major tour they did was, I think, two summers ago doing their livingroom tour which piggybacked with their tour opening for They Might Be Giants.

That was quite a whirlwind!

Re: 2006 TOUR DATES

February 2 2006, 8:14 AM

that's a shame.

Another little change - to the schedule of Cambridge, MA - moved up in the running to 5.15pm apparently.

And the reason I'm interested and have always been so, incase you are wondering (probably not!) - I'm 'gatecrashing' the US tour - All things being well, flying out in less than two weeks. YAY!

Brother-in-law now lives 20 minutes away from the MA one. Coming visiting!

And Bridgeport? :D - then a little R&R!

Hope to meet some of you good folks again and put some new faces to names too.

"Can't wait!" would be a mini-understatement.

2006 Tour Dates

February 6 2006, 6:31 PM

They also did "Offstage Lines" in St. Paul. I can't remember where it fit in the set list, but I was so happy when it started as it's one of my favorites. This show was the first time I had seen them live and the gig was everything I had hoped for. I brought a few of my friends and now they're hooked too. I'm still amazed on what a "big sound" they can make with three people. Jorden is so talented switching from guitar to banjo to trumpet. What a proformance! I can only hope that they return soon or play in an area that I can drive to. Now that I've converted my friends I have drivin' buddies!

Oh gawd, I'm such a fangirl! The first thing I did when I saw the latest additions was email my CoRo friends in the area to plan a road trip...following the guys from Bridgeport to R&R to New Paltz, skip MA, then to the Beanery. But should I forget the Acoustic Cafe show? I'd have to rush home from work then hope for the best, traffic wise, to get from Brooklyn to Bridgeport in less than two hours during rush hour. I don't know! I want to indulge in a week of CoRo but maybe the guys don't need to see my facha bruta four days straight.

New Paltz

February 12 2006, 9:30 PM

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone had any info on that New Paltz show...I live in Buffalo and I've never made it to a CoRo show, they just haven't come close enough over the past couple years or they've picked a date that was incompatible with my work schedule...BUT I could totally make this show, and I just am wondering little things like how much tickets are and can i buy them ahead of time or do I have to get them at the door? This place doesn't seem to have a website, and I'm a little sketched out that I'll drive all the way down there and the show won't really be happening lol...so any info anyone might have would be great. Thanks!

Tiffany - I'm pretty sure the New Paltz show isn't at a venue. My guess is that it's another thinly veiled LR show, which means no tickets, just paying at the door or whatver the arrangement might be.

Happy Valentine's All!

I am soooo excited. I wish I could go to the Bridgeport show but I think I'll have to wait until Friday. New Paltz might be do-able - I'll have to check the train schedules. I'd love a CoRo-ful weekend

It'd be great to put faces to the names too. I hope to meet some of you there. I'm going alone so I'll probably be easy to find.

Fantastic evening .. great to meet you Jo Ann, Karen, Marianne!

Lucky for some .. my 13th show on holiday, having the time of my life with the setlist to die for once more. First up was Captain's Arrival and "the song that doesn't exist" True Hollywood Romance was slotted in too Lil Shoes got substitued for 'Nowhere by audience vote! Good call !!!!

If I had to have a favourite of favourites it would indeed be a sad world but Smile is the one ...today.

We must all remember to bring our harmonicas in the key of C tonight and improve on our clapping techniques. I hope the toy accordion comes out to play, banjo goodness, glock prettiness is all very lovely ...but we needs the squeeze yes indeed.

I'm sure some folks think I'm crazy mental being here - but it isn't true ...I'm just fortunate.

See you tonight - if we can find the front door! R&R The Elusive Bar

1. I suck. I totally forgot the name of the woman you were with from Chicago.

2. What the hell happened after we left? I thought we were heading to the parking lot when I look over and you two are going into the bar! Late night pub crawl I wasn't invited to?

In any case, it'll be interesting tonight. Apparently, the bars and clubs in the Meatpacking District are too cool for signs. Hopefully I won't get kicked out for being totally uncool.

Now that. Was my idea of a good show. As good a show as one can get that's not in someone's living room.

Nice to meet all of y'all I hadn't met before! Had a great time chatting with you ladies after the show. Have a blast at R & R tonight, sorry I can't make it!

hee hi girls .. Jo Ann, that was Val - we are both going tonight .. Val also known as the photogal "RosamundeB" Yes I'm afraid we did have to pop into a bar .. pick up the husband who was chatting to some Swedish guitar player all night .. hee - silly boy ... tonight - proper music for him

Wow actually FOUND the R&R earlier ... shutters, corrugated iron roof - the name written on a sheet of A4 stuck to the wall .. definitely in the too cool for signs zone!

See you later party people.

Yes yes, husband...likely story. But chatting up the Swedish guitarist in a bar is believable.

Well, after last night, I came away with three things.

1) Adam will try to have a variety of songs on the set lists for the next few days to keep the shows from being repetitive for those following them around.

2) Eric likes brisket.

3) People are welcomed to pet "The Beard" as long as they contribute $5 to the Jesus Jorhab Fund.

Club Passim .. Cambridge, MA

February 19 2006, 10:17 PM

I wish I lived near a venue like this..great music and such a bargain this particular event...we listened to two and a half more hours besides the guys set but unfortunately had to leave before Charlotte Kendrick kicked off the later evening. Very full room...plenty of fans plus venue regulars and Festival visitors ..and I notice they were playing the feed out to the street too by way of speaker on the front step

Set-list entitled:

Men Out of Time

to start looks like Given Signs had been on the menu..but was scribbled through and replaced by Clear Channel..fitting for the Club....and return for the accordion!

then

Indie Rockin'
How To Lose > Auctioneer
Satan No ....which IS another "on our new CD"...wooohooo!
All Smiles
92 Mikes
Smile
Surround Face

Satan is Real was going to > into Given Signs but again a change made it Satan > Pawn....with a goodbye>leave stage>run back out>in audience Sweetheart

So 3rd wonderful show for the happy gatecrasher Perfect to hear Surround Face and Smile this afternoon. Really looking forward to getting my hands on that cd.

Safe journey home guys ....thanks for the shows..as always I gathered up more good time memories of fun, friends and wonderful performances. Every time different and so special.

Hubby now says for the second time "they are very good!" and "I like the song with the trumpet!" huzzah - after over a year of failing to impress him by repeated cd playing...a live show and a horn breeds another convert! Knew they would! Might get him to a uk show one day yet....maybe even a uk festival .. would be most excellent

My wallet's glad I don't do this often, but it sure was worth it. I would totally suggest to everyone to be a "Deadhead" once in a while!

And THANK YOU Adam, Eric, Jordan and Brian for all the hard work and traveling you do for your fans. It is much appreciated!

Just harking back to Part 1 of the Tour for a second - I've started splitting up my audio today - Awwww - great times, brilliant memories - all banked! I loved the Acoustic Cafe as a venue - and it was my first experience of hearing the guys in a really quiet room - which makes for very clear recordings (also clear recordings of the cash register and camera shutter ::grin:: )

Haven't time to upload lots, but please take two .. one old, one new, both wonderful - if this board doesn't take offence to easy-sharing, as it does to yousendit ::fingers and toes crossed::!

Offstage Lines

Surround Face

(I KNOW I "love this as well" - sssshush!)

..or.. go on then, THREE - for these harmonies HAVE to be shared - I believe that's a law in several States?

True Hollywood Romance

I only hold off posting my two favourite favourites Smile and Satan No .. as one has a chitterchat over the start and the other has just been a UM.

BLESS YOU, Julia! Those ROCKED! I'm listening to "True Hollywood Romance" right
now.

Btw, does anyone know if they've ever been up to Va.? I mean Northern Va. near the
panhandle of W. Va.? Because I was pimping CoRo out to my Mom yesterday-- I played
two of their songs for her-- and now she's hooked. And she's not really a concert
person. Heck, she's in her 60s! But now she wants to drag my step-dad to a concert!
lol. I told her to get me their autographs if she ever went. ~DJ

Thanks Julia! My recording of the Acoustic Cafe didn't turn out so well. There was a lot of chatter and at one point my cell phone went off and it recorded my conversation.

My best recording of the week was at Jemma's Palace which I sent to CoRo.de Luckily, my recorder didn't pick up so much of the background chatter during the show.

And we are plenty good enough anon just not very skilled in the patience department! The amount of dates so far played/announced in 2006 has been a joy to see... dates this side of the water at some point would indeed be joy much multiplied - but I'm going to sit in that corner marked "wait-and-see" (and duck the comments that it's alright for me, I already had my fix )

But....huh?

They're supposed to be playing at MR on June 2nd. It's a friday night concert and friday is the 2nd.

They must be playing awfully early to be able to make it up to R&R for a 9pm show. Either that or it's a misprint.

Moonlight Rising's webpage hasn't posted a cancelation of any kind.

Help?

According to mapquest, it takes 1 hour 35 minutes to get from the Moonlight Rising venue to the R&R. That doesn't take into account that it's a Friday night, it will be summertime, or that it's taken me a half hour to get thru the Holland Tunnel.

Re: 2006 TOUR DATES

From the MoonlightRising.com webpage:

"Moonlight Rising is very pleased to announce our Friday night opening concert will be by Common Rotation!! These guys are amazing, so be sure not to miss them! Ticket prices and concert details to follow shortly."

And on the registration page is just says they they're the "Friday Night Concert".

"Night" can imply anytime after 5-6pm. So, who knows. It could be possible....but I don't know why they would restrict themselves so. That's going to be a very cramped schedule.

Regan would know better than I....she's been to this con before.

Re: 2006 TOUR DATES

March 27 2006, 12:21 AM

I just got a logon to the Moonlight Rising message board. According to a 3/17 post from the convention chair, Aria:

"Due to a scheduling conflict the ComRo concert will now be moved to Saturday night following the banquet. The band's still coming just at a later time hence the day change."

That last sentence doesn't really make any sense, but whatever. Looks like the concert is now on Saturday. The convention should have made a note of it on their main web page at the same time they informed the message board readers.

I don't know what time the banquet is held or what time it's supposed to be over but it's nice the band will be playing on "main" convention day. Fridays at conventions I've attended usually have a lower attendance since people tend to work Fridays and just come on Sat and Sun.
