One of the wonderful things about living here.

I'll be there, and I'm bringing a few new faces with me. I'll try to remember to take some photos for everyone, but I make no promises.....

Hey all! Just came home and got to say, the show was really great tonight. I'm not much for writing up stuff about concerts, so I'll just post a set list so you all know what was played. Briel did get a few photos, but as usual, I forgot the camera. I have an excuse, I'm kinda sick with minor crud and I'm just really tired and feeling kinda icky. I didn't stick around after the gig cuz I wanted my jammies, lol.

small report

January 24 2006, 6:37 PM

Sorry, went to the concert, but have been run over by work and respiratory problems since then. No photos, but here's a small report. Lineup: Eric, Adam, Jordan (joined on a few songs by Matt Young and Ryan Raddatz -- Ken Beck was in the audience but did not perform).

Eric on acoustic guitar throughout.

1. Satan is Real -- Jordan on trumpet
segueing into
2. Indie Rockin' (Jordan offstage)
3. Lesson Learned (Jordan offstage)
4. Belfast -- Jordan on acoustic guitar, Springsteen and Dylan interpolated into bridge
5. Always Once Before It Takes -- Adam on glock(?), Jordan on acoustic guitar
6. 92 Mikes -- Jordan on banjo
7. How to Lose -- Jordan on banjo
8. Auctioneer -- Jordan on trumpet
9. Little Shoes -- Jordan on banjo, Ryan Raddatz on mandolin, Matt Young on stand-up bass
10. Plan Ahead -- Jordan on banjo, Ryan Raddatz on mandolin, Matt Young on stand-up bass
11. new song -- I Don't Need Saving? (I've realized I don't know the title and can't check without losing this post) -- Jordan on banjo, Ryan Raddatz on mandolin
12. Smile -- Jordan on banjo, Ryan Raddatz on mandolin
13. Afterthoughts -- Adam on harmonica, Jordan on banjo
14. the off-mike song -- I Like the Christian Life

The room was very full. There are a couple of tables in back, but the rows are benches like church pews, with little shelves built into the backs of the benches in front so patrons have a place to put drinks. Nice venue, good sound.

I wonder what song 11 is. Looks like Adam wrote "Satan, No!" on the set list. Did it sound familiar? Was it country, or bluegrass-y or more of a folk song?

Sorry to be picky but you don't happen to know what Springsteen and Dylan songs were worked into the bridge on 'Belfast' do you?

I know the Dylan one was "Don't Think Twice It's Alright" and I think the Springsteen one was "I'm on Fire."

Thanks for the photos, Briel. I kinda like Adam's longer hair. Goes with the no beard look. Jordan has enough beard for all three of them. I always get a kick out of seeing photos of them and who has a beard this time. That photo of Adam with the glock and Jordan in the background is really nice.
