I wish they'd take down the dates that have already passed. The new dates don't stand out when you have to scroll through all the old ones.

I agree Anon. Then again I shouldn't talk. Adam's site is somewhat... neglected? :P I'll get on that today. I suck.

Aug. 5 performance

I didn't take notes and unfortunately I think I missed about the first ten minutes of the set, because I was coming in from a far distance (I live not too far from the Hotel Cafe, but I had to be somewhere else earlier in the evening) and got snarled in traffic.
However, here's what I can say -- I came in in the middle of "92 Mics," which was great. The lineup was Eric, Adam, Jordan, Ken and Ryan Raddatz (Ryan also plays with the Dust Bowl Cavaliers). Adam went into a riff about how they can't afford to smash guitars, so he threw his harmonica on the floor. It was explained that "Satan is Real" is a song about the music industry. They performed that, "Auctioneer," "Union Dues," a new song that had Eric doing some really powerful vocals, "Indie Rockin'," and the off-mic finale was "Louisiana," in honor of a friend in the audience who is about to move down to New Orleans and help with the reconstruction. It was great. Yes, I know I'm forgetting some numbers. Ryan was on mandolin, Jordan was on banjo and trumpet, Ken was on percussion, Eric (of course) was on acoustic guitar and Adam was on harmonica, then glockenspiel toward the end of the set, prompting an onstage discussion of "glock chops" (as in, proficiency as a glockenspiel player). I got a Common Rotation songbook, which I highly recommend.

Since my internet is cooperating for about five minutes I thought I'd post this:
Another great show that went by way too fast.

I knew it! Well, you all might have realized it right away, but it took a little thinking on my part. At first, it sounded like a horror movie. But once I got past that, oh, after the fourth time I heard it, I think, I really listened to the words and got the music industry metaphor.
Now, is Adam singing "etch-a-sketch" or "Escher sketch"? I keep thinking about that Escher print of 2 hands drawing each other.
Thanks to Shapenew and Briel for the reports.

I haven't seen any new pix of them in a while. Does anyone have any from this particular concert? Thanks! ~DJ
