Re: Union Maid: Bulletin board

This must be from the Hotel Cafe show. It has 05 in the title of the downloaded file. From Shapenew's report on the Hotel Cafe show, she thought the 5th song was something with "Regular You" in it. In the chorus, "real you" sounds kind of like "regular you". And it's definitely a live performance.

Hmm, I think it's time for another Live from The Hotel Cafe cd.

680. Help save the youth 11/11…. Nov 11, 2007 (4.58MB) 4:00

Just stop and think.. two minutes is all it takes and its not much to ask.

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

They at last comprehend all their sacrifice, all their pain,
All their sorrow, all their suffering, all the death,
Did not change or alter a thing, was not a lesson learned
Nor an experience not to be repeated..
Realizing their friend's painful, brutal, ultimate sacrifice
Was only a necessary evil of Mankind's political process
Which has never changed, and never will,
For each generation brings to the world
Its own self-styled madness of universal death, tragedy and suffering,
In wars to be fought by the young, bright-eyed people of the world
Unknowingly raised as sacrificial lambs of slaughter,
To be killed and gone forever, for nothing.

That is why, all Veterans cry.

*Goes back into her box for a bit*

Re: Union Maid: Bulletin board

I like how Eric starts out with just his hand on the neck of the guitar, and then he steps into the camera line.

I wish he had the camera a little higher so it doesn't seem like he's looming over me. It's a good simulation of being in the front row, but I feel like I have a crick in my neck even though I'm looking at the vid straight on. 8-)

Minor complaint, really, it's great watching him perform these songs I haven't heard live yet.

I see Rehab snagged new views from outside the Common Rotation/Eric Kufs fanbase This is also veryveryvery cool.

Aside: Not that I will ever in a million years be in LA for a solo show - but - what happened to those? Seems to be a long time gone. The natives must be feeling very deprived

Just send me a note or leave a comment with your Gmail address, and I will add you. You can still see the old stats with the old login info. I just like Google Analytics better.

Good grief it can't be the twelfth of December already? NO! I thought to myself, and I was right because it's already the thirteenth here blimey!
I was saving myself by putting off leaving to work because of the madness that is the 'coming up to Christmas' commute (3 and a half hours on Monday head hits wall ) and lo a song that has been here before is here again for our listening pleasure..

695. Saving Myself - Dec 12, 2007 (1.64MB) 1:26

..erm .. hang on a minute. This - not sounding quite right ? anon#1 - I might all of a sudden be right there with you! - are you listening to the STREAM on the archive or on the main site, or a DOWNLOAD?

Weird. Thought I'd press a little "play" before bed and either someone is messing with my ears - or the streams sound kind of slowed down - so deeper... and depressing! ..which explains the ????

but the DOWNLOAD copy - which is what I've been listening to on my mp3 player - and that I've just taken a fresh copy of, to check - is fine. More than fine Love it! hello Karen ... ditto that:)

Never noticed this happening before. Someone tell me I'm not going mad? (in this regard, at least!) You hear it too?

Download a copy

Oops it is tomorrow over here now - farewell.

Julia the stream is running in Slow Mo, tis not your ears.. Both Adam and yet one sounds very, very depressing and the other, not so!

On to today's Union Maid then.....

700 . Ribbon_without …Dec 21st 2007 4.40MB 3.50mins

Repeat of the last Ribbon_without,Well I think it's the same one, but the file does not exist on the board

Oh and answering my own previous question to this song (cos I am a sad sack.... although please correct me if I am wrong : )

'Nessun dorma' (Calaf's Aria from Puccini's Turandot) I am thinking that is the tune playing in the background

still it's Number 700!

700 {runs around, bounces and squee's}

Blimey that's a hell of a lot of tunes, well done the UNION MAID, you do a sterling job and we love you ever such a lot!
cheers {raises a cup of coffee to toast you} well it is only half past eight in the morning here

Phew..Thank you!!! Even my better half was trying to break-in to the clue shop for me and mumble about bitrates and modem speeds .. bless... sounded good anyway

But I cannot correct you - I have no idea.

wheee 700!!! Copies count Hip hip hooray for the awesomeness that is the Union Maid!!! Thank you so much for every single one. You Are Legend. Will Smith is an imposter.

If we promise to be good (or at least careful) may we have a Christmas Eve Christmassy one again this year, I wonder?

700 . Ribbons - Dec 21st 2007 4.40MB 3.50mins

on the board now ... and with more "with" now! - not a repeat... but sneakily the same length.

I adore it. Sometimes your favourite Union Maids are ones you can hum

It is tagged arg?
As in aaaaarrrrrrgh! this board will not play properly?
Or aaaaaarrrrrgh! stop talking nonsense out there?

Sorry. I AM being good.

#700 - beautiful, tuneful, hummy.

GOOD. Being GOOD.

Silent Night could be gorgeous.

They are cheeky little monkeys indeed, different and yet the same length and very, very hum-able!

Not so sure about, 'Silent Night' myself although it would indeed be splendid I would prefer.. ' Happy Christmas (War is Over)' but that's just me

Julia - When the songs are chipmunk'd or slow-mo'd, it's the bitrate they are recorded at. I am pretty sure that media player plugin only likes 44.1.

Re: Union Maid: Bulletin board

Oh my head hits desk why will no one challenge my blatant stupidity?

I wanted someone, anyone to say 'Nessun dorma' (Calaf's Aria from Puccini's Turandot)' your having a laugh!

You see that is the ONLY bit of opera I know, and all I l know is that the background music is opera *pats self on back!*

You all know how to argue haggle don't you?!

Oh blimey here's a lesson for you: )

'At this time a friend shall lose his friends's hammer and the young shall
not know where lieth the things possessed by their fathers that their
fathers put there only just the night before ...
(BRIAN runs up to HARRY the beard seller's stall and hurriedly grabs an
artificial beard.)
BRIAN
How much? Quick!
HARRY
What?
BRIAN
It's for the wife.
HARRY
Oh. Twenty shekels.
BRIAN
Right.
HARRY
What?
BRIAN
(as he puts down 20 shekels) There you are.
HARRY
Wait a moment.
BRIAN
What?
HARRY
We're supposed to haggle.

See it takes some time to argue the toss with conviction haggle with skill

Oh and will I am at it *sends Dana more hour in the day : )
