Free online game called 'Toadwater'. Over a year
old. Loyal playerbase.
Perfect for playing at work. Overhead tile-based
game. Slow-paced. The game runs on a client, so
no annoying ads every time you do something.
This game deserves more players. Only reason
there's not more players is because we haven't
advertised. But if you advertise, people say
you're evil for advertising. Oh well, here's an
advertisement. IT'S THE ONLY WAY PEOPLE WILL FIND
OUT ABOUT THE GAME. SORRY, BUT IT'S TRUE.
Toadwater is more of a sim than an RPG. You plant
trees, watch them grow, whittle items out of the
wood, like tree taps (which you use to collect sap
from trees), clogs, scutching swords for breaking
& scutching your hemp fields (sorry, you can't
smoke Industrial Hemp), planks for building
outhouses.
Yes, you have to go poo in this game. But don't
worry. AFter your outhouse gets full and
explodes, you can shovel up the poo and use it to
fertilize crops! Grow radishes and hemp, and
MORE! You can buy magazines for the outhouses so
you can learn skills while pooing.
I think this should give you a fair idea about the
game. There's a zillion things we didn't mention,
like Auctions, Tree Lords, Top Players List (make
the Top 10 and you get your own statue!! Statues
collect bird droppings, which you can use for
fertilizer, and sometimes find precious rare tree
seeds in the droppings!). Ok, so I just mentioned
those.
Word of warning: Like REAL LIFE, starting out is
SLOW AND PAINFUL. Don't come to Toadwater
expecting Quake action or fast and easy results!
You'll have to claw your way out of your meager
beginnings in order to survive.
