That is so cool...I've only seen Wales in books. (From what I can tell, it's beautiful!) So does this mean you're bilingual?
Unfortunately, no... and I'm not happy about it. I was raised in South Wales, and the country as a whole is still trying to revive the language after the English spent a good many centuries attempting to rub it out. So these days, all those living in Wales speak English first (Welsh is spoken more up North, in the more rural areas). They didn't start teaching Welsh until I was in high school, and it's pretty much too late by then. (Even as late as the 1950's, the Welsh were viewed as 'dim' if they couldn't speak the Queen's English. *twitch*).
As a result, to be raised speaking the language requires one to be enrolled at a specifically Welsh-speaking school and waiting lists are loaded up years in advance.
I know some rudimentary language and can pronounce words and phrases, am familiar with letter mutations, know my national anthem and a few songs and some insults, but apart from that, afraid not. :-/
