Okay, yes I do believe they could have been in state of shock, thust causing for the fellow sprites to do nothing to help Dot. And actually, I agree with this theory quite well.
This summer I was a lifeguard at a summer camp. I would stand on the docks and watch the kids, always haveing to guess that the possible things they could do next. Well, one time this summer we did a thing where the kids would do a skit and if gonged, just like The Gong Show, they would get "thrown", really jumping, into the lake. Since it was hot, most of the kids wanted to jump in. Well, this one little kid jumped in. I was watching him closely since I knew he wasn't a good swimmer. Even so, he jumped in, the water was over his head, and me, in the water already, has to reach in and pull him up. Even though instinctively I knew what to do, I felt as if I paused and blurred the whole thing out. The kid was fine. I just put him on my guard tube and brought him to the shallow section. But I don't really remember that much of doing it since I was a bit shocked.
Okay, so how does this relate? Well even though I knew what to do, I almost didn't. The gang knew Megabyte is dangerous, but because of the shock from the MegaBob being revealed, they could have been in a state of shock.
Okay, so why so long? Even my states of shock, with lifeguarding and figuring out what Josh B. was saying we he said "snuggle couch" were only for a few second. I don't think they lasted 16. Probably to make it over dramatic.
There is a quote that says "The difference between reality and fictoion? Fiction has to make sense." So ReBoot, even though many of us don't want to believe it, is a fictional show, right? So that means it has to make sense, righ? But the thing we are discussing doesn't make sense, so in a way, could one say that they were trying to base the show on a reality level? Maybe so. With that reality level is makes no sense.
