I've gotten sucked into one of these debates with Pal before, and I learned the hard way
you just can't win.
It doesn't matter if you're right. It doesn't matter if your arguements are well thought-out and logical. You still
can't win. Just ignore the whole mess. It's easier and better for both your sanity and temper.
That said, I thought the filk in question was quite cute, rather well-written, and a harmless bit of holiday fun. I'm not Jewish, although I have a great deal of respect for both the culture and religion, but I've also been hassled over my chosen beliefs, and it's left me with the impression that people need to treat these matters with tolerence, good humor, and far less seriousness.
To quote Kevin Smith, "Even God has a sense of humor. Look at the platypus."
