Cosleia's interpretation of what Pal said does make it easier to understand, but as in other debates we've had here I think the point has become confused once again. Dreidel history? But...it was just a funny Reboot filk!
I've never understood some people's desire or ability to create huge issues out of nothing/harmless jokes. For what it's worth, I thought that filk was pretty funny too, and it would never have even occurred to me to put it in some religious context. But maybe that's just me...? And I don't want to be accused of pushing my views on others or anything...^_~
For everyone: Can we all do me a favour and NOT bring up the topic of religion on this REBOOT board? Please? (Unless we're discussing User dogma or something.) I've seen so many fights about that over the years and I'd rather not watch another. I can't stand it when people try to bring religion into things that were clearly not meant to be such. There are certain places for such opinions, and a ReBoot board isn't one of them. My point? This shouldn't have been a debate in the first place, all attitudes aside.
For cosleia: If this is indeed going to be called an "argument", then we need to realize that it was more than one person who was responsible for making it so, and the argument itself (and the "fighting words") did not begin with Ryuu...but seriously, there's been enough fault-finding already. It was a funny filk. That's all.
