Actually, that theory makes perfect sense.

Response to A theory about stories and toys

I don't really play with my action figures all that much. Yeah, I'll have one or two in my bag to pull out when I get bored, but not as much as I usually do with other ones. That's because I know the story line and if I were to play out some tragical soap opera with my action figures, it would just feel weird to me.

On the other hand, Katie, my dear friend, has only watched one ReBoot episode. Yeah, she knows a lot about the characters due to me, but she's able to take the characters out and call them blue boy and fish girl and make a whole fun musical soap opera out of it in the middle of her mom's office as all her mom's and my dad's co-workers hear us singing. That's because she doesn't know the storyline and in her world AndrAIa and Bob can be in love and Dot and Megabyte can be as well, yet I always yell at her telling her that's not nice to do.

Another verison is with this little boy from my chruch. I was doing a fund raiser there and brought them with me. We sat together, and in his world, all the characters battled eachother. That's because in his world he doesn't know who the bad guys are.

So, yeah, basicly what I'm saying is that Liz is right. She proves that us who know the storyline can't enjoy the toys as mere imagination toys. I guess we must think outside the box and pretend to be naive about ReBoot to enjoy ReBoot toys. Okay, is it just me or does that whole last sentence sound weird.

Luvs!
-Lita
