I think that Matrix's upgrades are due in part to some meddling with his code and body while in any number of the systems we did not see him visit (the eye for one, gun for another) but a lot of his compilation was spent in the games... in Gmae Sprite Mode. This has never, to the knowlege of most of us occured in the univers before; a system sprite growing up as part of a game... I propose that his code was affected by the constant exposure and long term intermingleing to game energy causing him to gain increased dexterity, strength and constitution.
