How the DVD release will affect ReBoot Month

Hi folks -

With the recent news of season 4.0 being released on R1 DVD in May this year, I felt it was important to inform you all of how we (that is, the distributors and organiser of International ReBoot Month) will stand on season 4 episodes as of right now.

As we are all dedicated fans, I have requested that all distributors please decline to copy any more VCD's or DVD's of season 4 to those living in R1 countries (Namely the US and Canada). I have asked them to please bring it to the requestee's attention, if they are not already aware, that it is indeed getting a release very soon, and for just $20, they can have a high-end, official DVD.

Even if you are not in a R1 country, you may still be
able to play the DVD on your computer or on a multi-region DVD player.

http://alryssa.empty-spaces.net/dvd.html details the news.

For those of you in other countries that do not have the ability to play R1 discs, there will be exception, unless we find that ReBoot will have a release elsewhere at a later date. If you are only missing one or two episodes, then fair enough. But please, we're trying to encourage the legitimate DVD. It's vitally important now more than ever that this new release sells, and sells WELL.

Mainframe has overlooked our copying of episodes up until now due to lack of availability. This has been a very generous courtesy afforded to us as fans. It is now up to us as mature individuals to respect their copyrights and purchase the official DVD's and merchandise to let them know the fanbase is still there.

I have instructed the distributors that if anyone gives them any trouble or hassle over this, to please direct them to me.

I hope you all can respect this decision and that it will be honoured. It will benefit us all in the long run.

cheers,

-A.
