Problem With Antivirusby (Login MarineDon)R Question:
I recently changed my antivirus program from AVG to Avira. I actually liked AVG and prefer it but the new version requires SP2. I don't like SP2; when I tried to install it I had all kinds of problems and ended up having to reinstall WindowsXP. This new antivirus program, Avira, began having problems with certain HTML files reported as "suspicious" in nature. These "suspicious" HTML files were on my genealogy program on the net at Yahoo.com. At the top I found the followning line had been inserted (I've removed the right/left arrows and replaced with right/left parenthesis): (OBJECT type="application/x-oleobject"CLASSID="CLSID:E17C826E-9565-DE91-786B-D603B25289C6")(/OBJECT) What in the heck is going on here? Anyone recognize this? Any help offered will be appreciated. This line wasn't on every file, just certain ones, especially files named as a menu file, like, "SmithFamilyMenu.Htm". Anyway, I dealt with this problem by removing the objectionably line from the "suspicious" HTML files. Regards, Don Smith |
